Beach Guardians Charity

The Kauai Beach Guardians are on all volunteer organization of residents trained in CPR. First Aid and basic water rescues who are ready to help in the case of drowning emergency. Pictured at left areCori and Craig Beck with Rescue Tube – same type that saved their lives at Moloaa Bay, Kaua’i by two Good Samaritan swimmers- and Jenn Tyler, the project’s founder.

The Beach Guardians concept was implemented by Jenn Tyler, a Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor for many years, after he heard about and subsequently met with the New Zealand Surf Lifesaving management SLS-NZ who have 6,000 volunteer members and are a model for our 85 charter members of the Beach Guardians. The Kauai Rescue tube project was started about 8 years ago (2008) . Rescue tubes are stationed on posts at Kaua’i beaches having no lifeguards, and citizen rescuers have saved 120+ lives since inceptionwith the help of these tubes.
