Hi! I’ve been swimming competitively for 9 years and have 5 years lifeguarding experience with CPR, AED, and first-aid certification.

I love ending my day at work knowing I created a safe and enjoyable pool environment. I’ve lifeguarded at various sized parties (even over 120 swimmers) and a wide variety of events. I believe a great lifeguard realizes the situation before it happens, taking action to prevent any situation from getting worse.

My composure under stress and observance resulted in the 5 rescues I had my first week as a guard (including saving 2 toddlers at once)!

With 4 years prior experience, and 10 years of swimming experience, I am knowledgeable in swim instructing and all four strokes. I trained very hard to swim competitively and medaled in the Junior Olympics! Some of my past students have gone on to participate in the Iron Man.

I have 5 years of lifeguarding experience and over 10 years of swimming experience and a medal from the Junior Olympics! The best part about lifeguarding events is getting to have fun and meet great people, while keeping everyone safe.

I am a 17 year old student at Ann Richards. I love cats, theatre, and film production. I swam competitively when I was younger and now I am proud to be a lifeguard and swim instructor! I have been lifeguarding at the YMCA for a little over a year now. I’m heading into my second summer lifeguarding but i have been working consistently throughout the year. I like lifeguarding because it’s an impactful way to make money. I like being able to ensure that everyone can safely have fun! I also like having the lifeguard training because it could be applicable in emergencies outside of work. I like knowing that I can help.

I have lifeguarding experience with events, water rides/slides, diving areas, lap pools etc. When guarding my intention is for the swimmers safety however I also want them to have fun. I have been life guarding for five years working for my hometown community pool, as well as a transfer guard for neighboring pools in that area during the summertime. When it has not been summertime, I worked as a swim instructor for an adolescent swim team. Knowing that any body of water no matter the size and origin, can be dangerous. I do my part as a lifeguard to protect others around me, because prevention is everything.

So the yellow cloth I have around my whistle is from the first summer I lifeguarded, one of my summer camp kids gave it to me. Lifeguarding was my first job at 16 and as an older brother, it’s always felt natural to lookout after those younger than me but through my life you can see how that’s extended onto everyone. From my military service to my current pursue in psychology. I’ve always just enjoyed helping others and it sure doesn’t hurt that I love the water, I am hoping to get scuba certified soon. So naturally, I am here as your lifeguard. It’s just a natural environment for me.

I have a love for the water! I started swimming when I was ten years old and started guarding as soon as I was legally able at the age of 16. I then branched out into swim instructing but have always had a love for being a lifeguard. Ensuring the safety of those around me and getting to be in my favorite setting is a dream! Fun Fact: I swam competitively for eight years! My favorite stroke is the Breast Stroke!

My background is in the legal profession working as a legal secretary for many years. I stopped working to raise two children who are now young adults. My daughter is a teacher in the Portland school district, and my son is an artist who lives on the East coast. For the last twenty-four years, I worked as a Special Education Assistant in the Los Angeles Unified School District. For twenty of those years, I worked with at-risk students and students with special needs at the secondary level. These students resided in a residential facility, and I worked closely not only with the entire school staff but with the social workers and staff at the residential placement. I am excited to be part of the Management Team of Happy Swimmers and look forward to working with you.

I have worked as a swim instructor for 3 years and it is one of the most fun jobs that I have had. I love helping children gain confidence in the pool. It is one of the most rewarding feeling in the world to watch a child progress in their swimming ability. I love working with older children between ages 5-12. I have experience working with young children and have been told that I have a talent working with scared children in this age group. I also have experience working with adults of all swimming ability. I am currently a master instructor for Lifetime Fitness.

I have been a Lifeguard for 6 years, three of those years I worked as a waterfront lifeguard at a camp in Austin, Tx. The last 3 years I have worked for Lifetime Fitness in San Antonio as an Aquatics Supervisor in this role I help run swim programming and lifeguard management. As a lifeguard my number one priority is keeping everyone safe and stopping disasters before they happen. I am a fitness enthusiast and I am currently in the hiring process for the San Antonio Fire Department.
