Happy Swimmers USA is a 23 year old company of insured, experienced professional lifeguards ready to keep your children’s pool party safe and fun. If you’re in the DC suburbs in Maryland or Northern Virginia, you’re in our service area. We suggest one lifeguard for each 15 children of mixed ages and abilities. If the participants are all swimmers (with none under age 3) we can usually allow 20 swimmers per lifeguard.

Last year, our lifeguards had to make seven urgent interventions from a toddler sliding off steps with their parent a yard away, to a dad with a panicked child around his neck in the deep end. The hosts were so glad we were there. It is my blessing to be able to bring such fine staff to guard your party as well. By you checking us out here, I already know you see our value. I have worked with children and adults with special needs, specifically individuals with developmental, behavioral, physical, congenital and sensory sensitivity disorders.

I am a certified lifeguard instructor and can teach Lifeguard training to a group of students 15 years or older. I have taught a total of 5 certification and re-certification lifeguarding courses, and several CPR re-certifications. I am also a certified WSI and taught swim lessons for children 2-14 with a wide range of abilities. During the summer of 2012 ran a swim program at a day camp for 4-6 year olds.

Total I have been an active lifeguard for 8 years and swim instruct for 5 years. I love to teach both swimming and lifeguarding, and have taught several LGT classes. I have background in occupational therapy, special education, swim coach, and have personal experience on a swim team. I love swimming and couldn’t imagine a better summer job than teaching and lifeguarding for the summer!

Trisha got our son, who did not really like swimming, having fun and by the end of last year could swim the entire length of the pool on his own. This summer I reviewed several in-home companies and was impressed with Happy Swimmers approach of water safety. Trish worked with my stubborn 2-yr old 2-3 times a week. Within the first lesson he knew how to climb out of the pool and to ask permission before getting in. Although our goal was to get him water comfortable more than "swimming", he indeed learned to swim within a few weeks. We extended our lessons and really appreciated Trish's approach. We will sign up again next summer. Many of our friends with children happened to be present on several lessons and I expect they will also sign up next summer as well."
