Austin Lifeguard for Hire Service
It’s smart to hire a lifeguard for a party, and we’re the company to help you make your next pool party in Austin the safest possible.
We work in many Southwest cities, with the aim of truly preventing many of the drownings and near-drowning accidents that are common in unsupervised swimming pools.
We are the largest private lifeguard service in the country and locally serve the Austin TX Metro area with a dedicated staff.
Price for up to 3 hours is $179 per lifeguard. Over 3 hours add $25/half hour per lifeguard. Feel free to keep the guards over your original booking time pending their schedule. Our office will bill you. The booking form on the next page will easily calculate your cost based on your party length and amount of lifeguards. We’re a cheap alternative to an accident. Just recently, one guard made 4 rescues to children at a busy party. Think their parents thought he was worth it?

Yumi and Jere were wonderful lifeguards when they guarded our end of year pool party on Wednesday June 11 from 11-2. They were in touch with me, were on time and prepared, and were very responsible and knowledgeable. I was so happy to be able to put two adults in charge of our fourth grade class party.
Based on my experience with Yumi Temple and her cohort Jere, I would highly recommend Happy Swimmers.
Thank you for a wonderful experience. So happy we used your business.
Hi Jenn.. wow today was really scary. I had to use my first aid skills on my mom! We work at the same preschool & she had an allergic reaction & went into shock! I did everything I remembered until the paramedics came.. I really can’t thank you enough for teaching me everything I needed to know!
Everything about my experience with Happy Swimmers has been amazing! From the scheduling to the fantastic teacher they sent for my 5 and 6 year old. The instructor, Emma, had to contend with 2 very different personalities along with 2 different levels of swimming experience. She was more than equipped to deal with that and gave each child unparalleled support, encouragement and instruction. I highly recommend this service to all parents that want to give their child a great experience in being water safe!
We have three kids ages 7, 4, and 2 & 1/2. This was our second year having Happy Swimmers, with instructor Trisha Commons, come teach our kids (the two oldest) to swim. I tried another company the year before I tried Happy Swimmers and although the kids learned swim safety, they were bored and did not learn how to enjoy the pool. Trisha got our son, who did not really like swimming, having fun and by the end of last year could swim the entire length of the pool on his own.
Trisha is great with the kids and is flexible in her teaching style to work with different personalities. She is able to get the kids confident in their abilities and teaches them how to swim, but also teaches them how to have fun! I will definitely be asking Happy Swimmers and Trisha to teach the kids again next year.
I have a toddler and a pool and wanted to make sure my son learned water safety. After taking some group classes last summer, I knew I wanted more one-on-one attention at our home. This summer I reviewed several in-home companies and was impressed with Happy Swimmers approach of water safety.
Trish worked with my stubborn 2-yr old 2-3 times a week. Within the first lesson he knew how to climb out of the pool and to ask permission before getting in. Although our goal was to get him water comfortable more than “swimming”, he indeed learned to swim within a few weeks. We extended our lessons and really appreciated Trish’s approach. We will sign up again next summer. Many of our friends with children happened to be present on several lessons and I expect they will also sign up next summer as well.
Hired a happy swimmers for private life guard for a party for over 200 people at my house. The lifeguard was great. She called to confirm before, came on time, and stayed later then we originally signed up because the party went over. She also showed up on time despite there being a black out that because of storms the day before. I highly recommend Happy Swimmers.

Event Lifeguard Bio: From my first big swim in the Pacific, and subsequent pummeling from an unexpected wave, I have loved lifeguards. I became a Jr. Lifeguard at age 7 after my unfortunate tossing in the white water, and began to understand the importance of water safety. The foundational learning of this program gave me the passion for ocean and pool awareness I have today. During my formative years, I began to play water polo and lifeguard after practice for our school’s younger swimmers. I continued to play competitively in college and became a Jr. Guard Instructor as well as an Ocean Lifeguard. My love of the water has stayed with me even when I became a Zookeeper after earning my bachelor’s, where I swam for exercise. The observational skills and preventative efforts I practiced daily when caring for Orangutans and Harbor Seals helped maintain my lifeguarding prowess. When I became a researcher of Orangutans in Indonesia and began my graduate schooling, I knew event lifeguarding would be a great way to support my education while honing my observational techniques. Scanning the trees for primate behaviors is perfect practice for scanning the water area for potentially distressed swimmers and vice versa. I love all primates, humans included, and I will work hard to keep all of them safe and happy- inside the water and out!
Advanced certifications: Open Water Lifeguard Experience, Scuba cert
Swim Instructor Bio:
15+ years experience teaching swimming! Christina generally serves Santa Monica and the Westside, from the Ocean to West Hollywood Hills.
She says: The moment I see swimming “click” in a student, I feel a wave of happiness- their giant smile glowing, where once a timid or nervous excitement challenged their own self-confidence. I have seen hundreds of these smiles, from young ones to golden aged students, and it never fails to fill me with a sense of purpose.
I try to apply all my years of teaching swimmers to each and every new student’s learning abilities. What may work for one does not always transfer. When I was a zookeeper, I learned that positive reinforcement is the best and least stressful way to teach even the most stubborn tiger or sea lion to accept medical treatments, and swim beautifully (even the tiger!). Hopefully, none of my human trainees will be as tough, but I am up for the challenge!
As a Master’s student in Anthropology, I have learned to apply my observational skills to the pool too. Knowing how a student can adapt to the new challenge of swimming is not unlike understanding how different cultures learn to adapt to societies’ challenges.
I plan to use all my various experiences from Jr. Lifeguard instructor, Beach Lifeguard, Zookeeper, and Grad school to influence the unique and focused attention I will give while teaching a new swimmer.
Everyone deserves the ability to enjoy swimming and feel confident too. I can’t wait to welcome others into the water 🙂
I worked countless hours lifeguarding last year and love being outside keeping those around me safe. I swam on my summer league swim team for nine years. My hobbies include playing volleyball with friends, practicing my cello and playing football for my school, Churchill High School in San Antonio.
General areas I serve: San Antonio, New Braunfels, San Marcos, Boerne, and Austin metro
My name is Clint, and i’m a current student at UT Austin with home roots down in San Antonio. I’m an active outdoors type and go rock climbing, cave spelunking, and swimming as much as possible! In any sport I do or watch over, I take safety very seriously and strive to be the person you can rely on in any emergency situation.
I have been working with large groups of kids in numerous environments for over 4 years now, and have been working as a Lifeguard almost every day this summer too. I have been actively practicing First Aid in emergency situations for over 2 years, and I look forward to providing you peace of mind while i’m watching over the pool.
Although my number one goal is to watch over any swimmers and enforce all safety rules, I also want everybody to have as much fun as possible this summer! I’d love to talk more in person and get to know each of my clients, but my attention will always be on the pool when people are swimming. I take my job very seriously and want to apologize in advance if I am not as conversational when I am actively lifeguarding.
With that being said, I look forward to meeting and helping you enjoy many beautiful sunny days in the pool!
To me lifeguarding is less of a job, and more of a responsibility to care for other people. I have been lifeguarding for the past 4 years now, and in my time guarding I have learned a few things. The meaning of hard work, customer service, and above all the importance our job titles carry. To literally guard lives. I love my job, and I love helping people. It is my goal that everyone enjoys their time in the water, while all the while remaining safe.
I serve the Austin area communities of Austin, San Antonio, Houston
Hi i’m Isaac, I have been a lifeguard at Barton Springs for 2 years and been a lifeguard for 3 total. I have been with Happy Swimmers for all 3 years of my lifeguarding career and work everything from kids birthday parties and weddings to corporate boat parties.
As well as a lifeguard I am currently a student at Texas State studying Business Management. My goal for lifeguarding is to promote a safe and fun environment around the pool while minimizing any risks for accidents before they happen.
Fun Fact: I saved over 20 people in my 3 years as a lifeguard!
I serve the Austin communities of Austin, Pflugerville, Georgetown, San Marcos, Driftwood, among others
I have been a lifeguard for one year now, originally for the City of Austin Aquatics Division. I intend to promote as much fun as possible while attempting to maintain a limited risk environment. I love being around water and kids, and enjoy keeping people safe while they do what they enjoy.
Home base area: North Austin, Cedar Park, Round Rock
I have 2 years Swim Instruction, Coaching, & lifeguard experience.
As a swim instructor, I teach kids to not only learn how to swim but to love swimming. I want them to be safe in the water and not depend on anyone else to help them. What I enjoy most about teaching anyone how to swim is seeing their progress and seeing them start to really love swimming and enjoy being in water. I love taking a kid who was originally scared and timid in the water and getting them to absolutely love swimming and love coming to swim lessons. Teaching swim lessons is a very fulfilling job and I love feeling like I have an impact on a child’s life. I still remember my swim instructor from when I first learned how to swim and I hope that the kids I teach will remember me and all I teach them. I have taught over 100 people ranging all different age groups, from as young as 6 months old to adults over 50. I was also a part time swim coach for a summer league team and a year-round team. I’m great with teaching freestyle and backstroke and moderate on teaching the harder strokes breaststroke and butterfly. I have also taught some more experienced kids how to do dives and flip turns. I have taken kids from fearing the water to swimming all the way across a 25-meter pool with no help.
Hey ya’ll! My name is Lauren and I am happy to serve you here at Happy Swimmers. Along with being a certified American Red Cross Lifeguard, I also am a swim instructor. I have taught swim lessons for two years at a public pool. The age group I have experience teaching with is toddler through school age. However I can assist any age group, kids are just so fun! Seeing kids progress is what makes my job fun. I love to see children grow in their skills and become comfortable in the water.
A fun fact about me– I know American Sign Language! Maybe I can teach you a few signs!
Hello everyone! My name is Lauren and I have been an American Cross Certified Lifeguard for 3 years. I began my lifeguarding experience at a public pool and progressed from there to working for an after school program. Now, I am here at Happy Swimmers.
I have been a lifeguard for 3 years.
My goal as a lifeguard is your child/children’s safety. I take a preventative approach and try to stop the hazard before it happens. However, real life doesn’t always work like that; rest assured I am trained to act and do the best I can to ensure patrons’ safety.
My favorite part of lifeguarding is seeing everyone have fun. Swimming and water activities are one of the best parts of summer.
A fun fact about me–I attend The University of Texas at Austin and am majoring in Speech Language Pathology with a minor in American Sign Language.
Hi there! My name is Lindsay Kendall and I have been a lifeguard with Happy Swimmers for five years now. I grew up in Austin but I attend the University of Alabama during the school year. During the summer months, I love to return to Austin and enjoy my beautiful city. I truly enjoy getting to travel around the Austin area meeting new people and protecting the safety of swimmers of all ages. While most pool parties are a breeze, each summer I encounter at least one distressed swimmer that needs my assistance. Growing up with a pool in my backyard, pool parties have been a part of my life since I was a young child. As a party host, you should be able to focus on the satisfaction of your guests and should not be concerned with whether the swimmers in your pool are safe. As a lifeguard is it my job to ensure the safety of all of your swimmers and guests so that you can enjoy your party and the time with you friends.
Areas I commonly serve: Austin, Cedar Park, Round Rock
This will be my fourth summer teaching swim lessons. I started giving lessons as a freshmen in high school and have had a lot of experience since then. I really love teaching kids to swim, seeing them learn to love the water and seeing how much they grow in their ability over the course of their lessons is really amazing to see. A fun fact about me is that I was born in Canada! P.S. I always bring suckers with me as a prize for the end of every lesson 🙂
Serving the general areas of Dripping Springs, Bee Cave, Austin
I’ve had three years of lifeguarding history at three companies. My goal whenever I’m lifeguarding is to prevent as many possible rescues before they even can take place. As I have only had to make one save in the past three years, this could have been a much greater number if had not been vigilant of my surroundings at all times. The thing l like most about lifeguarding events is I’m in charge of so many people’s lives it’s nerve wracking of course but it’s also gives me a sense of authority that when it comes down to it I have to act to save someone’s life.~~great awareness, Matthew and thanks for bringing your A-game 🙂 owner Jenn
Typical areas I serve include: Austin metro: Round Rock, Pflugerville, Cedar Park
4 years experience. General areas I can serve: San Antonio, San Marcos, Austin, College Station
I have been a lifeguard for over 4 years now. It seemed like the best job for me to do since I have been around the water ever since I was a little boy. I love going to these lifeguard events and seeing all the kids having a great time because it reminds me of when I was young and would go to the pool all the time. I love being the ‘cool’ lifeguard that kids can play with but at the same time I always make sure kids are being safe and everything is under control.
Last summer I lifeguarded at a summer camp, spending my afternoons watching kids splash in the river and my nights applying aloe vera. Lifeguarding to me is all about making sure the most fun is possibly had by my swimmers while still staying safe. Lifeguarding isn’t about ruining fun or being a buzzkill, it’s about making sure everyone has the best possible time in a safe environment!
I have 2 years lifeguarding experience
I am currently in my second year of lifeguarding, and have never stopped loving it since I started. When lifeguarding, I try to limit accidents and dangers by catching them before they even happen. I lifeguard in a professional manner, yet still make the event enjoyable for all involved. Lifeguarding for events such as parties is a unique experience because I not only get to keep people safe while they have fun, but get to know new people. I have been swimming on my summer league for over 12 years, so I am very comfortable near the water and know what to look for in people’s swimming abilities. When you don’t find me at work lifeguarding or at home studying, you will almost always find me with a fly rod in hand on any local body of water.
I serve the Austin communities of Round Rock, Spicewood, and Elgin, among others.
The summer camp I worked at swim lessons for our younger campers. Their skill level ranged from “never been in a pool” to “part of a swim league back home”. Over the course of my five years there, I learned which strategies work best for different experience levels and ages. I have been a lifeguard in central Texas for five years. Much of my time lifeguarding has been in a camp environment with a both a pool and lake. During my tenure at this camp, I rose to the position of Lake Director. My reason for lifeguarding has always been to keep people safe while they have the best time possible in the water. I grew up near the beach and to me, water has always been synonymous with happiness and fun. That is why I strive to keep everyone safe while they have fun in the sun.
Typical communities I’ve served include Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Pfluegerville.
I have 2 years lifeguard experience.
I started lifeguarding because I enjoy taking care of others and socializing. I have found this to job to have been one that I keep coming back to because I enjoy meeting new people and providing a safe environment for everyone. The most rewarding part of this job is knowing that I made a positive impact on a kids life and them telling me that when they grow up they wanna be just like me and that they wanna be a lifeguard too. Fun facts about me, I did martial arts for 5 years, I’m currently ranked 57th in the nation for weightlifting, I’m a DJ, and I’m a personal trainer.
I serve the Houston communities of Katy and Sugarland, among others. And during school season Austin and San Antonio.
5 years experience guarding 🙂
My name is Paulina Martin-de-Nicolas and I have been a lifeguard for five years now. I grew up in Austin and love the city and people dearly! During the school year, I attend Texas A&M University in College Station. My energy and direction at this time in my life are focused on becoming a nurse. Lifeguarding continues to give me hands-on interaction with children and adults for my future career. As a lifeguard, my focus is to ensure the safety of swimmers under my watch and perform rescues when needed. I intend to continue being a responsible and alert lifeguard as I start my 6th year in this field.

A little bit about Christine: After working as an LAPD scientific investigator for 11 years I transitioned to completing my M.S. degree in Chemistry then followed a teaching and research path in university academics for several years. I then moved to Hawaii in 2008 where I first joined the JTA CPR/ Happy Swimmers team as a CPR/First Aid instructor. During these years I had always made a priority in volunteerism being active in the National Ski Patrol and the USC Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber. Today I reside in Houston and presently support Help America Today turning elementary aged kids into the volunteers of tomorrow through grassroots community service projects. My passion for teaching and making a positive impact on our society is why I love teaching CPR and First Aid, particularly for those never certified. I am proud to now expand into the administrative staff of the company and be a part of turning children into happy swimmers.
Swim Instructor Bio:
Teaching swim lesson skills has been a 10-year adventure. I enjoy knowing that the lessons I teach will help someone improve their quality of life as well as maybe even save their life one day. I have taught around 3,500 student swim lessons and it continues to be as fun now as when I first started teaching.
Lifeguard Instructor bio:

Advanced Certifications: Water Front Lifeguard, Lifeguard Instructor, Lifeguard Instructor Trainer, Water Safety Instructor and Water Safety Instructor Trainer and Certified Pool Operator
Hi, I’m Sydney and I’m currently a sophomore at The University of Texas at Austin. Being by the water is my favorite place to be during the hot summers in Texas. I was a competitive swimmer for 14 years and still enjoy swimming laps in my free time.
For the past five summers, I have been a private and group swim instructor for ages 3 to 20. I have a wide spectrum of experience from children who are afraid to get in the water to competitive swimmers who need stroke instruction.
I enjoy building trust with the children I’ve taught and allowing them to progress into confident swimmers. I believe encouragement goes a long way and try to make the learning process as enjoyable as swimming is to me!
For the past five summers, I’ve lifeguarded at a city pool and for private events. When life guarding, I work to maintain a fun and safe environment for everyone inside and around the pool.
Because I am constantly scanning the pool and assessing the swimmers abilities, I saved lives each summer that I was working and prevented more accidents by enforcing the rules of the pool as well as general pool safety procedures. Last summer I was head life guard for our staff before retiring from my hometown pool. I take pride in my job and strive to continue to be a dependable life guard.
I serve the Austin communities of Austin, Pflugerville, Round Rock, among others.
3 years experience
Communities regularly served: Round Rock, Austin, Georgetown, Hutto, Pflugerville
I have been teaching swim lessons for 2 years now, and I have been a lifeguard for 3 years. The main thing I enjoy about teaching lessons is the improvement and growth of the children that I teach. When it comes to lifeguarding, I want to make sure that everyone in the water is having a safe, enjoyable time.
I have 5 years lifeguarding experience
Hi, I’m Teresa and I have worked at a variety of neighborhood pools and a military base. I love working with kids and looking after their safety. I also do swim lessons.
I serve greater San Antonio, New Braunfels, and Austin, regularly.
8 years experience!
Swim Instructor Bio: Hi Y’all! I’ve spent many summers both lifeguarding and offering swim instruction to individuals and groups. I love supporting kiddos in growing and learning through in-water experience that swimming can be fun and also a great way to face fears and develop courageousness through skill development. I swim year-round and enjoy playing water-polo; I’m also a yoga instructor and private health-chef that loves to share tips and treats 🙂 My sweet pup often joins me on my adventures! Looking forward to connecting with you soon 🙂
Lifeguard Bio: I’ve been a lifeguard in both private settings and busy public pools — what I love the most about lifeguarding events is seeing how much fun people are having and knowing that I am there to ensure everyone’s safety. I believe I was a Mermaid in another life and I love to swim!
Areas generally served: Central Austin, West Austin, East Austin, South Austin
I’ve been a lifeguard for over a year. Most of that time has been watching a kids pool with a slide at a resort. My favorite part of lifeguarding is seeing everyone have a good time, and being there to keep everyone safe. I enjoy working with kids. My experience with kids includes, babysitting, teaching kids how to read at school, giving reviews sessions for the 5th grade science STARR test, being a teacher’s aide, and working a fun, “kid Zone” with bounce houses, mini golf, and all kinds of other fun games.
I serve the Austin area communities of Austin, Buda, Bee Cave, and Pfluggerville, among others.
