Los Angeles (LA) Lifeguard for Hire Service
Happy Swimmers USA provides Los Angeles private lifeguard service for a variety of functions. From children’s pool parties (our specialty, seen on NBC4 News), to entertainment industry shoots, and corporate events, Happy Swimmers provides an incredible staff for all of these needs. All staff are Red Cross certified Lifeguards with an average experience of 7 years, many at high volume locations. These are pros, not charming but inexperienced high schoolers. Wherever there is a pool involved in LA County (and many other areas), we have staff ready to serve you professionally to maintain a safe and fun environment.
We are the largest private lifeguard service in the country, and with that comes a management team and lifeguard staff to fill your needs. We price guarantee our service. If you see a better price out there with our same high-quality standards, professional liability insured, we will match it. We pay our staff very well, and have a track record of reliability with our staff most of whom have worked with us 3+years. Easy to see why we have the lowest flaking rate by far of any lifeguard company. With a pool full of kids, we don’t want you wondering if the guard will show up.
Why hire us over another lifeguard company or even the kid down the street? – We are the only lifeguard for hire company that protects you with our insurance for PROFESSIONAL as well as general liability insurance. Most lifeguard companies carry the minimum general liability (slips and falls) but they don’t carry the more specific professional liability coverage. God forbid, if an accident happens no matter who’s fault, you want your guard(s) properly insured for your protection. Would you drive a car without car insurance or go to a doctor who you found didn’t carry malpractice insurance? We cover you and your event, so you can enjoy the party. Additionally, almost all freelancers are completely uninsured. Who checks their criminal backgrounds and lifeguard certification status? Our staff is professionally checked for these. We hire the cream of the crop with the best experience, and again, with us, you have a team of managers and a company to back you up if someone flakes.
Welcome to Happy Swimmers Lifeguards for Hire, 26 years of keeping a guardian angels eye on our client’s guests.
Price for up to 3 hours is $189 per lifeguard. Over 3 hours add $25/half hour per lifeguard. Feel free to keep the guards over your original booking time pending their schedule. Our office will bill you. The booking form on the next page will easily calculate your cost based on your party length and amount of lifeguards. We’re a cheap alternative to an accident. Just recently, one guard made 4 rescues to children at a busy party. Think their parents thought he was worth it?

Yumi and Jere were wonderful lifeguards when they guarded our end of year pool party on Wednesday June 11 from 11-2. They were in touch with me, were on time and prepared, and were very responsible and knowledgeable. I was so happy to be able to put two adults in charge of our fourth grade class party.
Based on my experience with Yumi Temple and her cohort Jere, I would highly recommend Happy Swimmers.
Thank you for a wonderful experience. So happy we used your business.
Hi Jenn.. wow today was really scary. I had to use my first aid skills on my mom! We work at the same preschool & she had an allergic reaction & went into shock! I did everything I remembered until the paramedics came.. I really can’t thank you enough for teaching me everything I needed to know!
Everything about my experience with Happy Swimmers has been amazing! From the scheduling to the fantastic teacher they sent for my 5 and 6 year old. The instructor, Emma, had to contend with 2 very different personalities along with 2 different levels of swimming experience. She was more than equipped to deal with that and gave each child unparalleled support, encouragement and instruction. I highly recommend this service to all parents that want to give their child a great experience in being water safe!
We have three kids ages 7, 4, and 2 & 1/2. This was our second year having Happy Swimmers, with instructor Trisha Commons, come teach our kids (the two oldest) to swim. I tried another company the year before I tried Happy Swimmers and although the kids learned swim safety, they were bored and did not learn how to enjoy the pool. Trisha got our son, who did not really like swimming, having fun and by the end of last year could swim the entire length of the pool on his own.
Trisha is great with the kids and is flexible in her teaching style to work with different personalities. She is able to get the kids confident in their abilities and teaches them how to swim, but also teaches them how to have fun! I will definitely be asking Happy Swimmers and Trisha to teach the kids again next year.
I have a toddler and a pool and wanted to make sure my son learned water safety. After taking some group classes last summer, I knew I wanted more one-on-one attention at our home. This summer I reviewed several in-home companies and was impressed with Happy Swimmers approach of water safety.
Trish worked with my stubborn 2-yr old 2-3 times a week. Within the first lesson he knew how to climb out of the pool and to ask permission before getting in. Although our goal was to get him water comfortable more than “swimming”, he indeed learned to swim within a few weeks. We extended our lessons and really appreciated Trish’s approach. We will sign up again next summer. Many of our friends with children happened to be present on several lessons and I expect they will also sign up next summer as well.
Hired a happy swimmers for private life guard for a party for over 200 people at my house. The lifeguard was great. She called to confirm before, came on time, and stayed later then we originally signed up because the party went over. She also showed up on time despite there being a black out that because of storms the day before. I highly recommend Happy Swimmers.

Hi everyone, I’m Abbey. I love Lifeguarding because my happy place is in the water, I love people, and I try to spend as much time as possible outside. I have been Lifeguarding since High School, and I now work full time at Pepperdine University managing the Lifeguards and events etc. at the pool there.
I have been playing Water Polo and Swimming Competitively for about 7 years now, so lifeguarding was a really natural choice for me. I love helping people and being in the water so choosing to become a lifeguard was the best of both worlds combined.
I serve the Los Angeles communities of Woodland Hills, Calabasas, Sherman Oaks, Thousand Oaks, among others
I have been teaching swim lessons for 3 years.
I worked for an old swim instructor of mine for 1 year and have worked for private clients the past 2 years. I have worked with children with autism for the past 2 years, and I plan on studying special education at the University of Kansas next year.
I’ve lifeguarded for a few family friends birthday parties. I love to lifeguard because I love to work around the water. I like to make sure anyone in the water is having fun, but of course being safe. My favorite part of lifeguarding events is when I have the opportunity to work children’s parties and invent water games for them to play. I’m very fun and easy going and work well with children.

Hi, I’m Ara. I’ve been life guarding for about a year now. Ever since I received my guarding certificate, I joined the UCLA recreation center, and have been life guarding there ever since. Aside from life guarding, I’ve always wanted to teach kids how to swim, for that reason I’ve been enrolled in the WSI class, and will be getting my certificate in about a month. To me, the most important part of life guarding is for swimmers to have a great time in the pool. And to that, I’ll be there to keep things safe. My first ever rescue was when I was seven, I managed to lift my two year old sister from under water 🙂 Way to go Ara!
2 years experience teaching swim lessons and lifeguarding

I love teaching swimming, especially to young girls who are either rambunctious or shy, I learned how to swim when I was four years old and I still remember all of my swim instructors. I love being able to help kids overcome fear of the water and share my passion for the water with as many people as I can. I have worked with Happy Swimmers since 2015 and I have been teaching my siblings and cousins to swim since I was 10 years old.
I have life guarded with Happy Swimmers since 2015, and before that I was guarding in my neighborhood for private parties. I enjoy working in a more relaxed, private setting, and I love watching people have a good time while also staying safe.

In my ten years as a swim instructor I have taught swim lessons to children of all ages, adults learning to swim for the first time, and adults taking lessons to improve technique. I have experience with students with special needs, stroke work, and water polo. My favorite part of teaching swim lessons is seeing my swimmers become more confident in the water and their abilities. I was a competitive swimmer for twelve years and played Water Polo through High School. I speak French, and I am Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certified.
My favorite thing about Event Lifeguarding is the opportunity to be a part of your special day! I have ten years of lifeguard experience including open water, summer camp, water park, and poolside. I am also a swim instructor and have many years of experience working with children.

SWIM INSTRUCTOR: I grew up around water most of my life but I really gained my passion for swimming in High school. I have taught for over 6 years now for multiple companies and facilities. Over my many years of teaching I have been able to piece together my own style of teaching that combines fun with efficiency! I love swimming and I love teaching people to swim, especially children and beginners because swimming is such an essential skill to have and it also can lead up to gaining a passion to an amazing sport!
EVENT LIFEGUARD: Safety is always a must! Growing up around water I know the unexpected dangers children and adults can face while being in a pool that’s why prevention is the most important thing. Being a Lifeguard for over 6 years I have worked in different cities and different facilities. I have always loved being a Lifeguard and knowing that I give people a relief and that they feel safe and I have always thought that you could mix little bit of fun in there while on duty!

HAPPY SWIMMERS BREATH OF LIFE AWARD RECIPIENT In July of 2017, Beth is credited with saving an adult swimmer at a pool party who went unconscious in the pool, and needed CPR for 10 minutes. Our deep gratitude to Beth and her fine service.
I’ve spent the past 8 years planning and supervising pool parties for children. This is my 1st summer as a certified lifeguard!
When lifeguarding, Safety is always first. I enjoy supervising events and watching people smile, laugh and play! I grew up in Florida and know that this type of environment is good for the soul and spirit. Many years I’d spend water skiing on the lake, surfing in the ocean or snorkeling at the springs. When I am not lifeguarding an event I can be found at the creek, the waterfall or participating in a water aerobics class. I also enjoy lap swimming and listening to my I-Pod at the Aquatic Center. Being around people and water is so natural for me!
I serve the Inland Empire and Orange County communities of Fontana, Redlands, Rancho Cucamonga, Pasadena, Upland, and Glendora, among others.
My intentions are to not only be a responsive and contributing member of the Happy Swimmers lifeguard team, but to also serve my LA community by ensuring fun and safe aquatic experiences. By doing so, I intend to positively represent the Happy Swimmers company so that clients won’t hesitate to recommend this company to everyone they know who might seek professional aquatic safety services.

I swam competitively for 15 years of my life. I started teaching swim lessons 6 years ago. I am currently working as a lifeguard at Pierce College and teaching swim lessons there as well. I also coach CCAT swim team at Pierce College. I like teaching swim lessons because I get great gratification out of seeing progress in my students and I love working with people. A fun fact about me is that I speak Spanish.
I started lifeguarding for private events 5 years ago. I began doing it on my own and when I was old enough, I applied to work for companies. Three and a half years ago, I started lifeguarding at Pierce College. I like lifeguarding events because you get to meet new people (Sometimes famous) and usually the events are very cool and exciting.

Swim Instructor Bio:
Teaching swim lessons is rewarding because you are essentially saving a kid’s life by teaching them how to be safe in and around the water. Nothing is better than seeing a child progress over a short amount of time from being a non-swimmer to a proficient swimmer. I have 12+ years of competitive swimming underneath my belt and have many tools to work with children of all ages and abilities to teach them how to become better swimmers themselves. In my spare time I like to go to the beach and surf, because I can’t stay away from water!
I have been lifeguarding for the past 4 years at many different locations throughout the Orange County area, and for the college that I attend. My experiences as a lifeguard and a collegiate swimmer have taught me to notice which kids are strong swimmers and which kids are not, that way I am able to keep a closer watch on those that are not as strong of swimmers. While lifeguarding I remain focused and on high alert at all times to be ready for anything. I have experience lifeguarding busy public pools and watching kids of all ages.
Common areas I serve: La Palma, Cerritos, Cypress, Lakewood, Long Beach, Los Alamitos, Buena Park, Anaheim areas

Event Lifeguard Bio: From my first big swim in the Pacific, and subsequent pummeling from an unexpected wave, I have loved lifeguards. I became a Jr. Lifeguard at age 7 after my unfortunate tossing in the white water, and began to understand the importance of water safety. The foundational learning of this program gave me the passion for ocean and pool awareness I have today. During my formative years, I began to play water polo and lifeguard after practice for our school’s younger swimmers. I continued to play competitively in college and became a Jr. Guard Instructor as well as an Ocean Lifeguard. My love of the water has stayed with me even when I became a Zookeeper after earning my bachelor’s, where I swam for exercise. The observational skills and preventative efforts I practiced daily when caring for Orangutans and Harbor Seals helped maintain my lifeguarding prowess. When I became a researcher of Orangutans in Indonesia and began my graduate schooling, I knew event lifeguarding would be a great way to support my education while honing my observational techniques. Scanning the trees for primate behaviors is perfect practice for scanning the water area for potentially distressed swimmers and vice versa. I love all primates, humans included, and I will work hard to keep all of them safe and happy- inside the water and out!
Advanced certifications: Open Water Lifeguard Experience, Scuba cert
Swim Instructor Bio:
15+ years experience teaching swimming! Christina generally serves Santa Monica and the Westside, from the Ocean to West Hollywood Hills.
She says: The moment I see swimming “click” in a student, I feel a wave of happiness- their giant smile glowing, where once a timid or nervous excitement challenged their own self-confidence. I have seen hundreds of these smiles, from young ones to golden aged students, and it never fails to fill me with a sense of purpose.
I try to apply all my years of teaching swimmers to each and every new student’s learning abilities. What may work for one does not always transfer. When I was a zookeeper, I learned that positive reinforcement is the best and least stressful way to teach even the most stubborn tiger or sea lion to accept medical treatments, and swim beautifully (even the tiger!). Hopefully, none of my human trainees will be as tough, but I am up for the challenge!
As a Master’s student in Anthropology, I have learned to apply my observational skills to the pool too. Knowing how a student can adapt to the new challenge of swimming is not unlike understanding how different cultures learn to adapt to societies’ challenges.
I plan to use all my various experiences from Jr. Lifeguard instructor, Beach Lifeguard, Zookeeper, and Grad school to influence the unique and focused attention I will give while teaching a new swimmer.
Everyone deserves the ability to enjoy swimming and feel confident too. I can’t wait to welcome others into the water 🙂
4 years experience, Serving communities like Los Angeles, Sherman Oaks, Anaheim, Lake Forest
-Currently pursuing ADT to obtain a BS in Kinesiology -Lifeguard for Via Verde Country Club and Deane Homes Swim Club -Hobbies include: surfing, spearfishing, scuba diving, camping, and playing the piano -Priorities when lifeguarding: (1)Safety and (2)Making sure everyone has a good time
I have been instructing swim lessons and lifeguarding for 4 years. I learned how to swim very young in Hawaii and continued swimming all the way until college when I received my lifeguard certification. I was fortunate enough to become an Eagle Scout and teach swimming in the Boy Scouts of America. After joining the Marine Corps I completed my certification for Marine Corps Instructor of Water Survival which is my current occupation. Within the Marine Corps I have been extensively trained in many different water survival and swimming techniques. I enjoy the outdoors and the I feel as though the beach is my second home. The thing I like most about teaching swim lessons and lifeguarding is knowing that I am teaching a skill to others that will potentially save their life one day.
Advanced LG certs: Waterfront lifeguard, Ocean Lifeguard Experience, Wilderness First Aid.
I’m a college student attending UC Berkeley, and as a summer job in the Los Angeles South Bay area I enjoy lifeguarding. I joined Junior Lifeguards at the age of 12 and was a part of that program for 6 years, teaching me the basics of lifesaving, honing my swimming, and preparing me for a future in lifeguarding. After this, I became a certified pool lifeguard and worked with the YMCA, by either being a lifeguard or aiding the swim instructors, giving me experience both in and out of the water with pool patrons. I have lifeguarded at the Peninsula High School outdoor pool for a summer swim camp with 2 to 10 year olds, as well as the San Pedro YMCA indoor pool, giving me experience in both indoor and outdoor pools.
I serve the Los Angeles metro communities of Palos Verdes Peninsula, Torrance, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and El Segundo amongst others.
Hi, I’m Dallas. I have been teaching swimming lessons consistently since February of 2017. I teach a wide range of levels from beginning pre-school ages all the way to higher teenage levels. I work patiently and effectively with each child, giving each child equal time to work on techniques as well as making time for fun but educational activities. I find instructing an incredibly rewarding experience that allows me to pass on a skill to a child that they will use for the rest of their lives. I am a fully trained lifeguard with certifications in CPR, First Aid, and AED.
I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1995. When I was 2 years old, my family moved to Southern Utah, near Zion National Park. I grew up spending most of my time outdoors rock climbing, hiking, camping, canyoneering, and most of all swimming during the long and hot summers experienced there. After graduating from high school, I moved to Seattle, Washington where I attended Highline College. There in Seattle, I experienced great music, incredible scenery, and made many amazing friends. Through my college, I was presented with the opportunity to become a lifeguard and a swim instructor. I found a true interest and love in the profession, building strong connections with fellow co-workers, regular patrons, as well as the children I taught. This summer (2017) I was given the unique opportunity to live in Hollywood, California. Here I aim to build more strong connections and increase my increase my experience within the aquatic community.
I serve the Los Angeles communities of Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Central LA, Los Feliz, among others.
14 years experience as a lifeguard! General areas I serve: Los Angeles, Pasadena, Bel Air, Westwood
I swam and played water polo for 12 years. I competed and won national tournaments in both sports. I swam and played for the Commerce Club Team and played and swam in Bell Gardens High School. Every year since I graduated I have worked as a life guard either full or part time. I have been around water since I was 8 years young and I know the worry that parents have over having someone professional looking after their kids that they can trust. I take my job very seriously and enjoy giving parents a day off where they can enjoy themselves knowing that a professional is taking care of their kids.
–Thank you Daniel for being such a pro! We love you!
Swim Instructor role: Growing up in the West Valley with a backyard pool, I learned to swim at a young age and got into water polo during high school and college. Water sports like surfing and sailing are hobbies of mine and I first started teaching private swim lessons shortly after I started my teaching career at Hoover High School in 1996. I still currently teach Health and PE while also serving in my Coast Guard reserve unit in San Pedro as a First Class Marine Science Technician. My son in grade school has been competing for two years on a swim team and loves it. All kids should have that opportunity.
Event Lifeguard role: Aside from the last two years working for Happy Swimmers, friends and family would ask me to act as a life guard for pool parties and functions when I became Red Cross certified for water safety and CPR. A good life guard takes preventative measures to mitigate potential hazards by identifying them early before the function begins. Done properly, pool saves are few and quick. I love the anticipation of potential challenges that each venue may pose and being a part of a random family”s fun safe memories they will have.
Serving: Orange County, Inland Empire, Los Angeles
Hello! My name is Dustin, I have been a certified lifeguard for over a year now with two years of swim instruction under my belt. I have been playing water polo for almost ten years so I am very comfortable in the water even in stressful situations. Growing up with four younger siblings and a pool in our backyard, I have always been very cautious and pay close attention to the people in the water and I will do the same with anybody I am assigned to lifeguard.
I have 2 years experience serving general areas including Beverly Hills, Burbank, La Crescenta as a lifeguard for hire.
Competitive swimmer and former water polo player. I love teaching and hanging out with the kids!
I am a water enthusiast who practices water safety because I once was afraid of the water. I enjoy my job because I get to meet people who promote water safety and I learn so much from them. The rule of thumb to safety is to share each other’s views. “When in doubtDon’t hold out”. Is always good to observe and report any uncertainties with the public.
Edson is game to travel just about anywhere in Southern CA, we kid you not. He is passionate about guarding and has taken difficult to fill jobs off the beaten track to keep kids safe. 🙂
I started lifeguarding at summer camp in Big Bear California for 2 years and became head lifeguard there. Worked at school aquatics center, running senior swims, open swims, and swim team practices and meets. I love the responsibility of making sure that people are safe and comfortable while swimming. A safe swimmer is a confident swimmer. I am also an LA-based actor and director.
I serve the Los Angeles metropolitan communities of Beverly Hills, Hollywood Hills, Sherman Oaks, Bel Air, among others
5 years of lifeguard experience!
After half a decade of lifeguarding, I’ve found that the best thing about showing up to the job is the people I meet there. When I get to know you, it helps me better keep you safe and happy, because when you’re happy, I’m happy 😛

Hi! My name is Lizzie, I am 26, and am currently a Kindergarten teacher. I have been teaching for four years and recently graduated with my Masters degree in Elementary Education; teaching children both in the water and in the classroom are passions of mine. I have been swimming since I was 8 years old and have a deep love for the water and teaching life saving water safety skills. I swam competitively beginning at age 8 and swam through high school. I began to coach competitive swimmers 8 years ago in Seattle; I have also taught swim lessons for 10 years. I am passionate about teaching children about water safety while instilling a love of water! I am comfortable working with all ages and have extensive experience with private and group lessons with children ages 2-10. I am looking forward to providing high-quality and enjoyable lessons for your child!
Watching someone swim on their own, after teaching them, gives me a great feeling as an instructor. My goal when teaching someone how to swim is to make sure that they’re doing it safely and efficiently. The skill level of the swimmer determines what I will be teaching them.
When lifeguarding, I intend to make sure the area I am responsible for is a safe environment (inside and outside of the water). I believe that safety and fun go hand in hand, because it’s no fun when a swimmer gets injured.
I serve the Central Coast/Los Angeles communities of Santa Maria, Santa Barbara, Pasadena, Los Angeles, among others.
Hi! My name is Grace and I’ve been a lifeguard for the past 6 summers. I used to swim competitively as well, so I’ve been around water my entire life. What I like most about lifeguarding events is getting to interact with the guests I’m lifeguarding for! It’s really fun getting to meet so many cool and interesting people from lifeguarding.

I typically serve the Westside including Santa Monica, Venice, Westwood, Beverly Hills, Culver City
Hi, I’m Helene! I have been a junior lifeguard at Venice Beach since age 12, and became a pool lifeguard one year ago. I am a competitive water polo player and swimmer and was elected as team captain for both varsity sports at my high school. I am also currently in the process of becoming a beach lifeguard under the Los Angeles County Fire Department. I truly enjoy my job of watching out for the safety of others and providing a fun and safe swimming environment. I am responsible, outgoing, and I love being around kids! Fun Fact: I also speak Norwegian!
I have 3 years of experience as a private swim instructor and lifeguard.
My past experience as a swim instructor in a family oriented clubhouse enables me to truly understand what matters in becoming a good instructor. I understand that teaching a child is more than teaching skills and forms. It’s also about trust and tolerance. Being a competitive swimmer also gives me insights in effective ways to teach my clients. I hope I can provide the best service you deserve.
Certified as a lifeguard since 2014, I have guarded in a summer camps and a family clubhouse. Both of them gave me experience in over watching the safety of a massive group of swimmers and serving a small group of families closely. I would like to do the most to keep the swimmers worry the least.
I serve the LA communities of Beverly Hills, Westwood, Brentwood, Culver City, Hollywood, Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica, among others.
My name is Jocelyn, I’m 17 years old and I just graduated high school. This is my first experience as a lifeguard but I am very excited. I’ve always wanted to become a lifeguard, and I can’t wait to start. I was previously a swim instructor for two summers, so I have a lot of experience working with kids.
I serve the LA and Honolulu communities of Encino, Sherman Oaks, North Hollywood, Woodland Hills, among others
I’m a professional ski coach, working my winters in Jackson Hole WY and living for the summers in South Pasadena, and I love working with children and teenagers especially in sporting and active environments where fun is paramount. I love to swim, especially distances underwater, and I train three to four days a week in the comp pool at the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center. Willing to lifeguard anywhere in the greater LA and Orange County areas. I don’t mind traveling!
John has been a lifeguard for the past ten years. Originally from Philadelphia, John followed the seasons to be a year-round lifeguard. John has experience lifeguarding on film sets, parties for swimmers of all ages and other events. He’s also an avid runner and swimmer, looking to get into triathlons.
I kid you not, John is on our list of lifeguards from anywhere in L.A. down to San Diego. Boy does he get around, and does a great job too.
2 years experience, traveling generally in the areas of Irvine, Costa Mesa, Huntington, Newport
The water has been my happy place since as far back as I can remember, but being from the Pacific Northwest, the weather wasn’t always the most accepting of my true love. So I decided at a young age I was going to go to SoCal for college, where I can be in the water year round. With this passion of mine, getting my lifeguard certification was an obvious choice, which I obtained as soon as I started school in California. I have now been a practicing lifeguard for the last year and a half, and I can proudly say I made a great choice choosing to get my certification. It has been nothing but rewarding and wonderful and I look forward to continuing my lifeguard career.
I have been lifeguarding for about 6 months now but I have been swimming and around the water my whole life. I’ve been teaching swimming for the past 5 years and currently swim for my college. I love being around kids and I take guarding very seriously, knowing that I am ensuring their safety.

I have been teaching swim lessons for 10 years. I come from a water polo and swim background having played all through junior high, high school, and college!! I have also coached water polo and swim team. I enjoy teaching others the skills they need in order to love and enjoy being in the water too while being safe at the same time 🙂
I have been lifeguarding for 10 years.I have been lifeguarding for 10 years. I love the water and enjoy making sure others are safe while they have fun in the water too. Over the past decade, I have truly come to see the responsibility that comes with being a lifeguard and it is a responsibility I take very seriously. I love having fun in the pool but safety first- always. I have performed multiple real rescues to both children and adults.
I have 4 years lifeguarding experience.
I am proud to say Lifeguarding has become a way of life for me. I have ALWAYS lived by the water as I was born and raised in South Florida before relocating to Los Angeles. I bring to you multiple years of experience as a Head Lifeguard at my local YMCA, a lifeguard for triathlons, lakes, pools, any body of water, you name it, I’ve guarded it. Safety is my number one priority as I have seen far too many unnecessary boo-boo’s during my career. I am an extremely approachable and outgoing person who loves to have fun and I always find myself going above and beyond to ensure everyone is having an exceptional time. I pride myself on my core values of respect, integrity, dependability, and honesty. When I arrive at your home or event, you can expect and I will deliver the utmost amount of professionalism and safety.

Swim Bio: Hello, my name is Armando. I am a Hispanic male i am 5’10 and weigh about 175. I am very athletic and love to exercise. I’ve played many sports throughout my youth. I swam and played water polo throughout high school. I also played other sports outside of school such as soccer, football, and baseball. I began to lifeguard my first year after high school. I taught swim lessons to kids from the ages of 5-12. I really enjoyed working with the kids, they always made my day. It’s truly an amazing feeling knowing you played a big part in teaching a child a valuable lesson that goes a long way. Swimming is a life skill you must learn in my opinion sort of like riding a bike. I take great passion in what I do and safety always comes first.
Lifeguarding in the Summer is one of the best jobs for a college student I believe. What’s more fun then being by the water and soaking in the sun in the midst of Summer? I remember going to the pool every summer and talking to the lifeguards. I always thought they looked so cool and what kid didn’t want to be cool? I have guarded for a little more then a year now and I can honestly say I love it knowing the importance of saving one’s life or being able to prevent a terrible accident is a very important job. Makes you feel like a bit of a hero.
I have been lifeguarding with Happy Swimmers for 8 years now and have worked events from Santa Barbara to Orange County. I have a bachelor’s degree in Business Management with a minor in Finance and am working toward getting my Doctorate in Physical Therapy within the next 4 years. I love to play all sports when I am not studying or working, and enjoy spending time with my family. As a lifeguard, I think it’s extremely important to gain the trust of our clients and let them know that we are there to provide a safe environment for everyone in the pool and on the deck so that they can truly enjoy their party.
I’ve guarded for two summers mostly in Westwood, Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Bel Air at local swim clubs filled with kids who just wanted to have fun and enjoy the pool. As I guard, I want to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves, no matter their age, and being safe while doing it. I have a lot of experience working with kids so I am more than willing to join in the fun and lead games while guarding. Aside from that, I am currently a college student in LA studying economics.

Swim Teaching: Hi there! I come from a long background of aquatics, and am always up for a challenge! I get my teaching experience and understanding on the mechanics of swimming, firsthand from 4 years of swimming on my high school team. I began coaching in the spring of 2012 for a small swim instruction company based in Moorpark CA, while simultaneously volunteering with the special olympics for three seasons as a coach in the SanFernando Valley. I pride myself on the fundamentals of water safety, on all levels of learning. I push the boundaries of comfort for my students at times (just as in any challenging subject of learning) but never force students, or have them do anything that exceeds their own abilities. I am patient dedicated, and have the same level of respect for ALL.
Lifeguard for Hire work: Vigilant, preventative, and alert, are all words that belong with a pool side lifeguard on duty. I can help bring a little extra peace of mind to any event or occasion. I bring to the table tactics similar to those of my swim lessons. On duty, I am constantly on the lookout for any possible problem(s), and to the best of my abilities prevent whatever I can before it happens. Water safety is my #1priority when I am present.
Teaching swim is a passion of mine. Being able to teach children how to love the water while being safe is my priority. Through my 4 years of teaching swim, I have extensive experience with Special Needs children.

I hope to make your party safe and fun!
I began teaching swimming lessons five years ago! I have taught group and private swimming lessons at a private country club in Georgia. I then started teaching swimming lessons for Whittier College here in California, last summer. I really enjoyed teaching that Sports Camp at Whittier College because not only did my kids have fun, but I did too! I have been teaching private and group swimming lessons at my local YMCA in Whittier since August of last year. I also teach private and group lessons for babies and parents and special needs. I love teaching swimming lessons because I want the children to love the water as much as I do! My absolute favorite part about teaching swimming lessons is watching the children improve. Knowing that I taught those kids how to swim the correct way is my whole motive!
I began lifeguarding five summers ago at a private country club in Georgia and that is where my love for lifeguarding emerged! I lifeguarded at that country club for three years before I moved here, to California, where I began lifeguarding at Whittier College for the summer! I loved lifeguarding there because they had diving boards and a very deep end which made things a bit more interesting in a day’s work! I have been lifeguarding at my local YMCA since August of last year and it has truly been awesome getting to know the patrons that spend so much of their time coming to the Y, just like me. My intentions when I guard are always to keep the people in and around the water as safe as possible. What I enjoy most about lifeguarding for private events is the closeness and respect I always receive from the hosts and guests. They’re always so grateful and kind to me for my services and that makes me very happy to do my job!
