Greater New York City (Tri-State Area) Private Lifeguard for Hire Service

We are mobile throughout all New York Metro.

It’s smart to hire a lifeguard for a party, and we’re the company to serve you. Here’s a little about us:

Happy Swimmers private lifeguard service began in 1991 in Los Angeles, and over the years, we’ve expanded to many metro areas nationwide, in the aim of truly preventing many of the drowning and near drowning accidents we’ve read about in the news. In 2009 we opened service in New York. We are the largest insured private lifeguard service in the country.

Why hire us over another lifeguard company or even the kid down the street? – We are the only lifeguard for hire company that protects you with our insurance for PROFESSIONAL as well as general liability insurance.  Most swim companies carry the minimum general liability (slips and falls) but they don’t carry the more specific professional liability coverage.  God forbid, if an accident happens no matter who’s fault, you want your guard(s) properly insured for you.  Would you drive a car without proper insurance or go to a doctor who you found didn’t carry malpractice insurance to cut corners?  We cover you and your event, so you can enjoy the party.  Additionally, almost all freelancers are completely uninsured. Who checks the criminal backgrounds and lifeguard certification status? Our staff is professionally checked for these. We hire the cream of the crop with the best experience, and with us, you have a team of managers and a company to back you up if that guard flakes.

Price for up to 3 hours is $209 per lifeguard.  Over 3 hours add $25/half hour per lifeguard.  Feel free to keep the guards over your original booking pending their schedule.  Our office will bill you.  The booking form on the next page will easily calculate your cost based on your party length and amount of lifeguards.  We’re a cheap alternative to an accident.  Just recently, one guard made 4 rescues to children at a busy party.  Think their parents thought he was worth it?

Hi, I’m Alexis and I am currently pursuing an Entrepreneurship major at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI. During the summers, I reside in Maplewood, NJ. I have 16 years of swimming experience, and 5 years of lifeguarding experience. I have had a love for the water since I was a baby and just want to help people stay safe, and enjoy the water as much as I do at their events.

Allen Clare, Lifeguard, Swim Instructor

15 years experience!

Serving the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut areas of Greater NYC.

Ever since a child I was always in the water. Being born in urban New York City my mother wanted me to learn how to swim. After completing all the learn to swim program levels, I decided to push myself further and become a lifeguard. Though I enjoy guarding, however my heart remains primarily as an instructor. Being able to positively change a child’s life, give them confidence in and out of the water is priceless. These are all things I wish to instill in my students, as well as my own son.

Being a lifeguard has been one of the most exciting jobs I’ve had in my life. Not only because it is a great responsibility but as well for the fun. A good lifeguard should always stand for safety, fun and being a good role model. All of which I can I promise to uphold.

Proud Parent to a beautiful son.

Helena Roth, Lifeguard

Kew Gardens NY

I have been a lifeguard for about two years. I am an attentive lifeguard, continuously scanning the pool and my surroundings. I was a lifeguard for a Day Camp at a lake and I not only guarded but also taught swimmers from the age of 3-12 years old how to swim. I love to play water games such as sharks and minnows, red light green light and relay with the swimmers. When I was younger my mom would always have to remind me to eat because I could swim all day if I had the option too. This is why I take pride in being a lifeguard it’s not just a job for me but kind of a lifestyle where water is my element.

Home turf areas for me: Pelham, Whie Plains, New York City

Waterfront Lifeguard Certified as well.

A little bit about Christine: After working as an LAPD scientific investigator for 11 years I transitioned to completing my M.S. degree in Chemistry then followed a teaching and research path in university academics for several years. I then moved to Hawaii in 2008 where I first joined the JTA CPR/ Happy Swimmers team as a CPR/First Aid instructor. During these years I had always made a priority in volunteerism being active in the National Ski Patrol and the USC Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber. Today I reside in Houston and presently support Help America Today turning elementary aged kids into the volunteers of tomorrow through grassroots community service projects. My passion for teaching and making a positive impact on our society is why I love teaching CPR and First Aid, particularly for those never certified. I am proud to now expand into the administrative staff of the company and be a part of turning children into happy swimmers.
