Houston Swim Lessons
Private Swim Lessons
Happy Swimmers started teaching at-home swim lessons in 1991 in Los Angeles, with 22 clients. In 1993 we began serving Phoenix. In 2009 we opened in Austin, and this is our second summer in Houston, with hundreds of kids learning each summer. We are the most seasoned mobile swim lesson company serving the Houston Metro area. Our staff average 13 years swimming lesson teaching.
This region is home to many fine swim schools and city programs, so why do we offer swimming lessons? Some kids do well in boisterous social large group swim lessons, but many kids do not, and prefer a quiet, trusting setting of their own home pool and a dedicated, kind-hearted, patient instructor. We specialize in the latter style of teaching.
Where do we serve in Houston metro?:
Happyswimmers.com provides swim lessons and lifeguarding to Houston and the surrounding metro areas. We are familiar with areas both inside and outside of loop 610, beltway 8, and are excited to use the recently opened section of 99 (aka JJ Watt highway).

Here’s a recent testimonial from a mom in Sugar Land:
I enrolled my 2 1/2 year old daughter in private swimming lessons through Happy Swimmers USA with instructor Krysta Meyer. We have been taking the lessons for 2 months and my 2 1/2 year old can jump in the swimming pool on her own, swim and float on her back for the entire length of the pool (30 feet) to the side without any assistance. My husband and I are amazed at her progress and have been very impressed with her instructor, Krysta. I highly recommend this program for every child learning how to swim.

Swim Lesson Tip:
Goggles are ok for 3 year olds and up during lessons- IF they fit well and don’t leak much. Encourage parents to get quality goggles, like Speedo’s for children, not the $1.50 pair from the drugstore which leak incessantly.

Yumi and Jere were wonderful lifeguards when they guarded our end of year pool party on Wednesday June 11 from 11-2. They were in touch with me, were on time and prepared, and were very responsible and knowledgeable. I was so happy to be able to put two adults in charge of our fourth grade class party.
Based on my experience with Yumi Temple and her cohort Jere, I would highly recommend Happy Swimmers.
Thank you for a wonderful experience. So happy we used your business.
Hi Jenn.. wow today was really scary. I had to use my first aid skills on my mom! We work at the same preschool & she had an allergic reaction & went into shock! I did everything I remembered until the paramedics came.. I really can’t thank you enough for teaching me everything I needed to know!
Everything about my experience with Happy Swimmers has been amazing! From the scheduling to the fantastic teacher they sent for my 5 and 6 year old. The instructor, Emma, had to contend with 2 very different personalities along with 2 different levels of swimming experience. She was more than equipped to deal with that and gave each child unparalleled support, encouragement and instruction. I highly recommend this service to all parents that want to give their child a great experience in being water safe!
We have three kids ages 7, 4, and 2 & 1/2. This was our second year having Happy Swimmers, with instructor Trisha Commons, come teach our kids (the two oldest) to swim. I tried another company the year before I tried Happy Swimmers and although the kids learned swim safety, they were bored and did not learn how to enjoy the pool. Trisha got our son, who did not really like swimming, having fun and by the end of last year could swim the entire length of the pool on his own.
Trisha is great with the kids and is flexible in her teaching style to work with different personalities. She is able to get the kids confident in their abilities and teaches them how to swim, but also teaches them how to have fun! I will definitely be asking Happy Swimmers and Trisha to teach the kids again next year.
I have a toddler and a pool and wanted to make sure my son learned water safety. After taking some group classes last summer, I knew I wanted more one-on-one attention at our home. This summer I reviewed several in-home companies and was impressed with Happy Swimmers approach of water safety.
Trish worked with my stubborn 2-yr old 2-3 times a week. Within the first lesson he knew how to climb out of the pool and to ask permission before getting in. Although our goal was to get him water comfortable more than “swimming”, he indeed learned to swim within a few weeks. We extended our lessons and really appreciated Trish’s approach. We will sign up again next summer. Many of our friends with children happened to be present on several lessons and I expect they will also sign up next summer as well.
Hired a happy swimmers for private life guard for a party for over 200 people at my house. The lifeguard was great. She called to confirm before, came on time, and stayed later then we originally signed up because the party went over. She also showed up on time despite there being a black out that because of storms the day before. I highly recommend Happy Swimmers.

Houston Swim Lessons Staff
My swim instructing background goes back to my swimming days, where I trained for 10 years perfecting my strokes and technique. I taught swim lessons for a spring in High school, and thoroughly enjoyed it. My specialties include freestyle and backstroke technique, as well as basic techniques for young children. Fun fact about me: I’ve swam with sea turtles in Hawaii!
I have been lifeguarding for about a year now. My intention for guarding is to help create an environment that is the most fun, and safe, it can possibly be. My favorite part of lifeguarding would have to be seeing how much fun everyone is having in the pool on a hot summer day! Fun fact about myself: I swam for 10 years of my life, and hold a record in the 200 freestyle relay at my high school!
I serve the Houston communities of Sugar Land, Katy/Cinco Ranch, Pearland, and Bellaire, among others

Hi, my name is Glori. I started swimming before I could walk and fell in love with the water. I began swimming competitively at age 6 and did that through high school. I have also life guarded and taught swim lessons for 15 years. I love teaching others to swim and hope to share that love of the water with others. I also teach preschool during the week. I have taught kids and adults and individuals with special needs. I love swimming and want everyone to have a great experience in the water. My picture was taken in the Mediterranean sea a few years back.
I have 4 years Swim Lesson Instruction experience & 1 year Swim Team Coaching experience.
I love being in the water and love kids, so what better role for me to serve in than teaching little ones how to enjoy and be safe in the water! I have eight years of experience swimming for a team, one year of experience as an assistant coach for a neighborhood swim team, and 4 years of experience giving private lessons to both kids and adults. What I love most about teaching swim lessons is seeing kids overcome their fears in the water while having a blast!

30+ years of swim lesson teaching experience and lifeguard experience. 8 years of Lifeguard Instructing.
Serving the communities of the Greater Houston Area.
Swim Instructor role:I have been teaching and coaching swimming for over 30years to children of all ages, in a variety of settings and environments. I also currently work with triathletes in improving swim technique for open water. I thoroughly enjoy the excitement a child (regardless of the age), when a goal is achieved. I can share many stories about swimming and teaching, but nothing is more satisfying when a child has a big smile and is thrilled to see you because they enjoy the swim time.
Event Lifeguard role:I began lifeguarding at 16 and found a passion in water safety. This began an incredible journey and lifeguarding on some of the wildest waters in the world. Currently, I guard at several local pools and private parties, as well as open water swim events. As I guard, I not only watch the water, but empower my patrons to make responsible choices and learn about water safety. The NO, has a reason. I want your experience to be fun, as long as it is safe.
Additional certifications in: Lifeguard Open Water Certified — lake/ocean, WaterPark Certified, O2 Certified,
Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) role:I am currently a lifeguard instructor through the American Red Cross. In this, I am able to certify guards for pools, waterfronts (lake, pool) and waterparks. I have trained over 1000 lifeguards in my tenure, and am proud to share water safety values with these students. It is thrilling to empower students to pursue an opportunity to help others around the waterfront.

A little more about me… I’ve been actively teaching swim lessons for six years and enjoy this more than any other profession I’ve ever been involved in. There is nothing better than doing what you love for a living and being able to teach and share it with others. I get to teach a child; learn life long skills that last a life time, as well as safety and the joy of the water. I’m always amazed at how students learn so much in a short period of time. It is also fun to watch them “Strut Their Stuff” when they become confident at what they have learned. I started swimming at age 3 and have never enjoyed anything more than the water. I have been a competitive swimmer, PADI diver and Coast Guard Auxiliary member for many years. Welcome to Happy Swimmers! I am happy to help.
Serving the areas of The Woodlands, Spring, Conroe. HAS ACCESS TO A POOL IF NEEDED.
