I have special needs experience – majority of work with fear filled and disabled children. I have also worked with adults – my oldest student was a woman in her 70s who wanted to conquer her fear of the water. I’ve also done swim team stroke work to support team coaches. My specialty is definitely working with young children.
Tracey joined Happy Swimmers in her 7th year of teaching because of her absolute love of providing swim instruction to young children. Water safety is her first priority lesson plans, along with infusing a good dose of fun, encouragement and using a soft touch with her students. The majority of her teaching experience has been done at client homes and she firmly believes her students have increased confidence and ability when they are learning in a comfortable, familiar environment. Formerly WSI and Lifeguard certified, she has the most experience teaching in 0-6 years of age. She has taught all levels, including adults and special needs children and has a passion for bringing the joy of the water to every student. Tracey shares one of her favorite experiences was teaching a group of Boy Scouts for swim qualifications which turned out to be fun, lively, event!
While holding a business degree from Pepperdine, she also has taken many classes in child development and child psychology stemming from her passion for youth. In addition, Tracey works with nonprofit organizations that provide college scholarships to deserving orphans in Kenya, Africa.

I have been a swim instructor for 5 summers, and a lifeguard for 5 as well.
I was formerly lifeguard/waterfront safety certified; I currently hold my CPR/First aid, NR-EMT and OCEMS certifications.
I can offer swim team stroke work, beginning diving, as well as regular swim lessons.
I love being in the water, as well as working with children. I have extensive experience working with children in aquatic, medical, and athletic environments. I look forward to working with you and your child!

I grew up swimming with and for my Dad, “Coach” in Southern California. After teaching me how to swim I swam competitively through high school. During college I had my own very successful backyard swim business as well as working as a teacher’s aide for adult classes at Grossmont Community College. After earning my degree in Early Childhood Education I taught preschool for 6 years. I received my WSI and Lifeguard Trainers Certifications, and as an aquatics director at several locations, taught swimming, coached swim teams and trained swim instructors and lifeguards. These experiences have given me a great background for teaching all levels of swimming to all ages.
I have a great skill for evaluating a persons swimming level and moving forward My lessons are relaxed and challenging in a really fun way, and provide strong water safety skills. My goal is to inspire confidence and a love of swimming that will last a lifetime.

I have been a swim instructor for 4 years, but have been involved with
swim clinics for 7 years. I am Lifeguard CPR and First Aid Certified. I
attend Clark University in Massachusetts where I am majoring in Psychology
and Urban Development and Social Change. My swimming career began at the
age of 3 when I started on my first swim team. I have been swimming
competitively since then and continue as a member of my college team. In
lessons, I believe that creating trust between the child and I is the
first step to learning. I hope to give children the same love of the water
that I have been blessed with.
