I swam competitively from 9 to 18years of age. I have 13 years experience teaching swim lessons and coaching swim team. Lesson experience ranges from 6 months of age to adults. I am the mother of identical twin boys and a daughter. I have taught children with a wide range of disabilities, from muscular dystrophy to being deaf. I have water aerobics experience along with synchronized swimming and water polo coaching experience. I am currently the Verrado High School Girls swim coach, coach Verrado Barracudas in Buckeye and USA certified swim coach. I am currently lifeguard, CPR and First Aid, Water Safety instructor, Lifeguard Trainer and Water Safety Instructor Trainer certified. This is my second summer working with happy swimmers. I have worked many private parties and taught lessons to several different families around the valley. I worked for 4 years for the City of Scottsdale teaching swim and dive lessons to kids 2-15 years of age. I am currently a nanny for two children with special needs (autism and juvenile diabetes). I am also trained as a habilitation and respite provider for children with autism. I have a lot of experience with young children and children with developmental delays. I also have experience teaching adults to swim and improve swim technique. I aim to make my lessons engaging and developmentally appropriate for each individual!!

At private parties and events around the valley I aim to provide a safe and fun environment for children and parents to enjoy themselves. I am proud that many parents have told me that they feel 100% confident leaving their young children under my watch in the pool while they entertain guests. It is important to me that the children have fun the pool while also learning how to be safe around water!

This is my second summer with Happy Swimmers! I have been a lifeguard for 7 years and a swim instructor for 6 years. Certifications: I am certified in CPR/AED, Lifeguard Training and WSI. My philosophy is to get the children comfortable enough in the water to where there know safety steps to take in case they would ever need to use them.

Nelson has experience teaching parent/toddler classes, but specializes in the 2 to 5 year old range. He has experience teaching children with autism and children in wheel chairs He shares: I lived in Rio de Janeiro for 3 years and speak fluent Portuguese and I played varsity water polo for 4 years in high school. What sets me apart as a swim instructor is my ability to get children to feel comfortable with me and feel safe while they are in the water. I excel at teaching children the basics of water safety, basic swim techniques but most important, I teach children to love being in the water and that is something that will carry on throughout the course of their lives.
