Washington DC/Philadelphia Lifeguard Training
Congress trusts us to train their staff. How about you?
Our On-Site Lifeguard Training serves the metro areas of DC, Philly, and NYC with personalized training appointments for your facility’s schedule.
This lifeguard certification course is at your chosen commercial pool location including clubs, and camps. The main requirements are that it be comfortably heated (82 degrees+), have a 7 foot or greater deep end, and a suitable area for videos and land practice. Email us pictures of your suggested pool to be safe. Additionally, since it’s required for pool operation, we use the same for our class: your facility must have on hand at least 1spine board with straps and head immobilizer, and enough rescue tubes for 1 tube for every 2-3 lifeguard students. Our company provides the CPR, First Aid, and AED equipment. (If you need direction on purchasing rescue equipment just ask).
This course is intended for good swimmers (easiest if they are at a Swim Team/Water Polo Team level, and avid swimmers). Review theswim competencypre-test below if you are unsure.
Red Cross 2 year certificationsare given for each student passingthe classin Lifeguard Training, CPR-Pro, AED and Lifeguard First Aid. Certification is immediate upon passing.
This isa 2 day intensive course, usually arranged on one full weekend, or on two consecutive week days. Arrange days best for you with our advising. As the training is intended for strong swimmers in the 2 day format, if students are not so strong, we can offer a 2 1/2 day format at a more moderate pace. But know, to be a lifeguard, you have to swim well. Lives depend on it.

4 years experience, Serving DC areas likePotomac, Arlington, Columbia, Washington, D.C.
Hello, my name is Andrew Pennington. I enjoy serving the Washington, D.C. Metro Region with four years of experience as a professional Lifeguard. I presently work as a licensed Pool Operator, certified Lifeguarding Instructor, an American Red Cross volunteer First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor, a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), and a Maryland State EMT. In addition to graduating from UMBC with a B.S. in Psychology, I am active as an Assistant Scoutmaster in Troop 944 (Rockville, MD), the troop in which I earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 2010. Meeting new members of the community and providing some ease of mind are among my favorite aspects of lifeguarding. I look forward to serving your next event!
I have two years lifeguarding experience. I am currently a supervisor at a water park in Mesa. I am in the process of becoming an EMT and love learning more and more about emergency medicine. I have my scuba diving license, CPR/First Aid/AED, and special facilities certification as well.

Living on Kaua’i island, Hawai’i most of the year, and traveling to Australia, Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay, and Houston regularly to lead Lifeguard Courses and CPR training, Jenn has been the director of Happy Swimmers for over 25 years. It is a passion to assist in the empowerment of children learning how to swim in a medium once considered a fearful, uncertain place, magically turned into a supportive, fun environment to be explored with friends. The same goes for lifeguarding and training new lifeguards–there is no greater inner joy either in saving someone’s life as a lifeguard, or teaching others how to perform lifesaving skills. It is an honor for me to watch my students grow–where once there was doubt or panic, now there is strength and confidence.
Thank you for looking to become a Happy Swimmer!
