Hi, I’m Amanda. I’ve been lifeguarding for over 7 years and teaching people to swim for 3 years, and absolutely love it! I know the pain and tragedy of losing a loved one due to drowning, so now it’s my mission to prevent such tragedies. I have worked with toddlers, all the way up to adults, as well as special needs kids. With me there, you can relax without worrying if your loved ones are safe.

I started lifeguarding over a decade ago in high school and I’ve continued to lifeguard off and on since then at various facilities from indoor college campuses to crowded, outdoor public pools. As a guard I’m scanning the scene constantly, I find that being proactive can help more than anything, though I’m always ready to react to the unexpected. It’s been very rewarding to see youngsters find confidence in the water and themselves, and knowing that I’m there to protect them is something I’m proud of. Pools tend to attract the wildest of critters as well, and I find that to be a perk of the job, having wrangled everything from baby bunnies to giant centipedes.

I have been a lifeguard since I was 12 years old! I took Jr Lifeguard classes as a kid and accumulated summer volunteer hours by shadowing working lifeguards. I got certified when I was 15 in May 2017 and immediately started working in June of 2017. I have years of experience in this field. Hello! My name is Christian Youssef and I have been a lifeguard for the past 4 years. With plenty of experience as well as exceptional swimming skills I have been helping keep others safe. My number one priority as a lifeguard is the safety of my guests as I take this huge responsibility very seriously. Through constant awareness as well as implementing preventative measures I look to provide my guests a fun time as well as a safe one. With 4 years prior experience, and 10 years of swimming experience, I am knowledgeable in swim instructing and all four strokes. I trained very hard to swim competitively and medaled in the Junior Olympics! Some of my past students have gone on to participate in the Iron Man.

I have 5 years of lifeguarding experience and over 10 years of swimming experience and a medal from the Junior Olympics! The best part about lifeguarding events is getting to have fun and meet great people, while keeping everyone safe.

I always loved the water; I used to be a “pool rat,” then joining the Swim Team and then Water Polo team in high school. I began lifeguarding at the age of 15, working indoors for 3 years getting guard of the month twice during that time, and guard of the year for the one year it was tried. Then, I moved outdoors where I got the similar guard of the week and with my team defeated 20+ teams to win the North Texas Guard Games.
Knowing me personally: I thrive in high stress situations and de-escalation. I used to try to guard perfectly of out fear of failure, but now I guard just as well without it.

Hello, my name is Kendrick. I’m a recently Certified American Red Cross Lifeguard. In addition to my day job, as a Fixed Income Specialist, I am an Assistant Scoutmaster with Boy Scout Troop 773 in Irving, TX. I made the decision to become a Lifeguard after completing BSA Aquatic Supervision & Water Rescue Training. I developed a love for swimming as a form of exercise following 20+ years as an amateur cyclist, and the addition of a few extra pounds. An important component of safety comes from “Being Prepared” (Scout’s Motto) for emergencies should they occur, but perhaps more practically, Prevention. I have over 6 years experience working with kids through scouting, and believe in living the 12 points of the Scout Law (ask me to recite them sometime ;). As a business professional, I strongly believe in providing excellent client service, and developing lasting relationships by treating individuals the way I expect to be treated.

In addition to the above certifications, I am Red Cross Certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED. I’m Originally from Lafayette, Louisiana and have been living in the DFW area since 1995. I completed my Bachelor’s in 1991 at University of Southwestern LA. I Eventually earned my MBA at University of Dallas in 2002. When not involved with work or scouting, you’ll likely find me either in the pool, on the bike, or thinking about one of the above. Other interest include cooking (indoors & out), geocaching, and in general pushing myself to learn and do new things; rest is good too 🙂

I have been teaching swim lessons with Happy Swimmers for the past 4 summers! I have experience teaching all ages, but I love my 3-5 year old babies! We’ll have so much fun making splashes, blowing bubbles, and learning how to swim just like a big kid.

Hey there! My name’s Nathan Wilson, and I’m an indoor lifeguard with just over 1 year of experience. Since I work year round, I’ve had over 60 hours of inservice training and 1000+ hours on duty. I’ve always viewed lifeguarding as a way of giving back to my community, especially after almost becoming a drowning victim myself. When I was 5 years old I jumped into the deep end of a friend’s pool at a party. In a backyard of 20+ people the person that recognized what was happening was my father, who quickly jumped into action to drag me up from the bottom of the pool. An accident can occur in the blink of an eye, and as a lifeguard my duty is to prevent those accidents from becoming fatal.

I have been i life guard for two years going on three. i have made active saves, and heat related saves. My background is in the legal profession working as a legal secretary for many years. I stopped working to raise two children who are now young adults. My daughter is a teacher in the Portland school district, and my son is an artist who lives on the East coast. For the last twenty-four years, I worked as a Special Education Assistant in the Los Angeles Unified School District. For twenty of those years, I worked with at-risk students and students with special needs at the secondary level. These students resided in a residential facility, and I worked closely not only with the entire school staff but with the social workers and staff at the residential placement. I am excited to be part of the Management Team of Happy Swimmers and look forward to working with you.

I have worked as a swim instructor for 3 years and it is one of the most fun jobs that I have had. I love helping children gain confidence in the pool. It is one of the most rewarding feeling in the world to watch a child progress in their swimming ability. I love working with older children between ages 5-12. I have experience working with young children and have been told that I have a talent working with scared children in this age group. I also have experience working with adults of all swimming ability. I am currently a master instructor for Lifetime Fitness.

I have been a Lifeguard for 6 years, three of those years I worked as a waterfront lifeguard at a camp in Austin, Tx. The last 3 years I have worked for Lifetime Fitness in San Antonio as an Aquatics Supervisor in this role I help run swim programming and lifeguard management. As a lifeguard my number one priority is keeping everyone safe and stopping disasters before they happen. I am a fitness enthusiast and I am currently in the hiring process for the San Antonio Fire Department.

I am currently 17 years old and have been lifeguarding since the age of 15.
