New York City Tri-State Area (NYC) Lifeguard for Hire Service
Serving the Tri-State Area: NJ, NYC, Long Island, & CT
Greater New York City (Tri-State Area) Private Lifeguard for Hire Service
We are mobile throughout all New York Metro. Westchester Co, Rockland Co, and Jersey to Greenwich and out Long Island (Nassau and Suffolk Counties)
It’s smart to hire a lifeguard for a party, and we’re the company to serve you. Here’s a little about us:
Happy Swimmers private lifeguard service began in 1991 in Los Angeles, and over the years, we’ve expanded to many metro areas nationwide, in the aim of truly preventing many of the drownings and near-drowning accidents we’ve read about in the news. In 2009 we started service in New York. We are the largest, oldest lifeguard for hire service in the country.
Why hire us over another lifeguard company or even the kid down the street? – We are the only lifeguard for hire company that protects you with our insurance for PROFESSIONAL as well as general liability insurance. Most swim companies carry the minimum general liability (slips and falls) but they don’t carry the more comprehensive professional liability coverage. God forbid, if an accident happens no matter who’s fault, you want your guard(s) properly insured for you. Would you drive a car without proper insurance or go to a doctor who you found didn’t carry malpractice insurance to cut corners? We cover you and your event, so you can enjoy the party. Additionally, know that freelancers are completely uninsured. Who checks their criminal backgrounds and lifeguard certification status? Our staff is professionally checked for these. We hire the cream of the crop with the best experience, and with us, you have a team of managers and a company to back you up if that guard flakes.
Price for up to 3 hours is $219 for the first lifeguard. Need additional lifeguards? They are at a $15 discount each for $204. Over 3 hours add $25/half hour per lifeguard. Feel free to keep the guards over your original booking pending their schedule. Our office will bill you. The booking form on the next page will easily calculate your cost based on your party length and amount of lifeguards. We’re a cheap alternative to an accident. Just recently, one guard made 4 rescues to children at a busy party. Think their parents thought he was worth it?

Yumi and Jere were wonderful lifeguards when they guarded our end of year pool party on Wednesday June 11 from 11-2. They were in touch with me, were on time and prepared, and were very responsible and knowledgeable. I was so happy to be able to put two adults in charge of our fourth grade class party.
Based on my experience with Yumi Temple and her cohort Jere, I would highly recommend Happy Swimmers.
Thank you for a wonderful experience. So happy we used your business.
Hi Jenn.. wow today was really scary. I had to use my first aid skills on my mom! We work at the same preschool & she had an allergic reaction & went into shock! I did everything I remembered until the paramedics came.. I really can’t thank you enough for teaching me everything I needed to know!
Everything about my experience with Happy Swimmers has been amazing! From the scheduling to the fantastic teacher they sent for my 5 and 6 year old. The instructor, Emma, had to contend with 2 very different personalities along with 2 different levels of swimming experience. She was more than equipped to deal with that and gave each child unparalleled support, encouragement and instruction. I highly recommend this service to all parents that want to give their child a great experience in being water safe!
We have three kids ages 7, 4, and 2 & 1/2. This was our second year having Happy Swimmers, with instructor Trisha Commons, come teach our kids (the two oldest) to swim. I tried another company the year before I tried Happy Swimmers and although the kids learned swim safety, they were bored and did not learn how to enjoy the pool. Trisha got our son, who did not really like swimming, having fun and by the end of last year could swim the entire length of the pool on his own.
Trisha is great with the kids and is flexible in her teaching style to work with different personalities. She is able to get the kids confident in their abilities and teaches them how to swim, but also teaches them how to have fun! I will definitely be asking Happy Swimmers and Trisha to teach the kids again next year.
I have a toddler and a pool and wanted to make sure my son learned water safety. After taking some group classes last summer, I knew I wanted more one-on-one attention at our home. This summer I reviewed several in-home companies and was impressed with Happy Swimmers approach of water safety.
Trish worked with my stubborn 2-yr old 2-3 times a week. Within the first lesson he knew how to climb out of the pool and to ask permission before getting in. Although our goal was to get him water comfortable more than “swimming”, he indeed learned to swim within a few weeks. We extended our lessons and really appreciated Trish’s approach. We will sign up again next summer. Many of our friends with children happened to be present on several lessons and I expect they will also sign up next summer as well.
Hired a happy swimmers for private life guard for a party for over 200 people at my house. The lifeguard was great. She called to confirm before, came on time, and stayed later then we originally signed up because the party went over. She also showed up on time despite there being a black out that because of storms the day before. I highly recommend Happy Swimmers.

Hi, I’m Alexis and I am currently pursuing an Entrepreneurship major at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI. During the summers, I reside in Maplewood, NJ. I have 16 years of swimming experience, and 5 years of lifeguarding experience. I have had a love for the water since I was a baby and just want to help people stay safe, and enjoy the water as much as I do at their events.
Areas commonly served : NYC, Saddle River, Hamptons, etc.
15 years experience!
Serving the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut areas of Greater NYC.
Ever since a child I was always in the water. Being born in urban New York City my mother wanted me to learn how to swim. After completing all the learn to swim program levels, I decided to push myself further and become a lifeguard. Though I enjoy guarding, however my heart remains primarily as an instructor. Being able to positively change a child’s life, give them confidence in and out of the water is priceless. These are all things I wish to instill in my students, as well as my own son.
Being a lifeguard has been one of the most exciting jobs I’ve had in my life. Not only because it is a great responsibility but as well for the fun. A good lifeguard should always stand for safety, fun and being a good role model. All of which I can I promise to uphold.
Proud Parent to a beautiful son.
I have been a lifeguard for 2 years. I am advancing and always productive while leading people in the straight paths of various choices.
12 years experience and our East Coast Lifeguard Manager, Congratulations, Andrew!
My favorite thing about lifeguarding is knowing that I can make a difference and save a life. My intentions are not just to do my job effectively but to also make sure that everyone has fun and feels like family. A fun fact about me is that I lifeguarded for a movie shoot which was a very exciting experience for me.
I have been certified for a few years and it’s definitely my passion to work with kids. I really like teaching them life saving skills and helping them learn how to be safe around the pool and water. Being around children really brightens my day and I enjoy it so much it doesn’t feel like work. I grew up babysitting in my towns I’ve always had a special connection with children and I still do.
I have been a lifeguard for 3 years now and it’s very fun and exciting. I get enjoy keeping patrons safe and preventing accidents before they happen. There could always be an accident and I like the excitement of jumping into action if need be. I enjoy working with other lifeguards and doing mock rescues, that’s always very fun.
I serve the NYC tri-state communities of New York City, Queens, Hamptons, Glen Cove, among others.
I’ve guarded at a 3 pool recreation center for about 5 years and hopped around pools the last summer, being the only guard on duty a lot of the time. I enjoy talking to patrons and love water and swimming! The coolest thing about me is probably that I can lick my elbow, I’m very flexible.

Hi I’m Brittany Woods and I’ve been lifeguarding for four years during the summer in the Town of Greenwich. I’ve also guarded at private parties and I enjoy lifeguarding and will continue to re-certify myself because of the joy I get from this job.
I’m the one in the blue suit in the picture. Sometimes guards get to be goofy too 🙂
I serve Boston MA, and Greenwich CT at different times of the year.
I taught swim lessons at camp and privately for the last 3 years working with children of all ages. I love helping children learn how to swim and their “aha!” moment when they finally get a stroke and become comfortable with it. I actually learned how to swim pretty early on. At the tender young age of just 4 years old I would swim on my own!
I’ve been lifeguarding for the last 5 years and teaching swim lessons for the last 3. I always keep a fun and safe environment for my patrons and love to see a smile on their faces after a job well done. Event lifeguarding is so much fun and you meet so many new and interesting people.
I serve the NYC Tri-State Areas of Paramus, Philadelphia, New York, Manalapan, among others.
Hi, my name is David. I am a caring, funny, and a friendly person. I have been swimming since I was age 4 and I started to like swimming. I have swam for many swim teams including my high school swim team. I have formed many relationships and being able to swim with my friends. I have life guarded many town pools, camps, and party events for 2 years. My favorite part of lifeguard is being able to see the kids enjoying the water and having a fun time, but being able to keep them safe too. My favorite place to hangout during the summer is the beach with my family and friends. I love to watch basketball, football and hockey. My favorite food are pizza, french fries, and sushi.
I serve the NYC Tri-State communities of New York City proper, Philadelphia, Trenton, Jersey City, among others.
Hi! My Name’s Eduard. Born In Russia, and spent the last 10 years living in New York. Throughout my life, I’ve spent time around the pool so I knew a lifeguard job would be perfect. Fell in love from day one. I take pride in providing and maintaining a safe environment, as well as enjoy seeing people have lots of fun!
Through my broad experience working for various luxury buildings, my awareness of the high expectations taught me to stress professionalism, and courtesy, also provide a balance with fun. Swimming is a skill which in my opinion, everyone should enjoy. It is always my goal to share that positive experience with those surrounding me.
I am certified by Red Cross in Lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid and AED.
I serve the NYC Tri-State Area communities of New Jersey, Long Island, NYC and it’s surrounding principal cities
I have been a lifeguard and swim instructor for 5 years.
I began my instruction career at the Rutgers University pool. I began with teaching adults and then transitioned to teaching children. I also taught a few children’s lessons over the summer at the YMCA camp. I thoroughly enjoy teaching children because of their typically energetic attitude just to be in the water. The most amount of joy I get from teaching is when I see the amazement in an adult’s eyes when they are swimming when they came in with the thought they’d never learn how to swim.
My background consists of learning to swim as a small child and becoming a competitive swimmer in my youth through to high school. I began Lifeguarding five years ago at Rutgers University, where I am now a Head Lifeguard. I also have experience being a lake lifeguard with the Frost Valley YMCA camp. I thoroughly enjoyed my time working with the camp. My intention for being a Lifeguard and Swimming instructor is to help make any aquatics setting as safe and comfortable as I can for as many people as I can. I enjoy interacting with energetic people, and being able to provide a form of safety and security for people that is very unique and in a setting where people can thoroughly enjoy themselves.
I serve the NYC Tri-State area communities of Long Branch, Manasquan, Atlantic City, among others.
I have been a lifeguard for about two years. I am an attentive lifeguard, continuously scanning the pool and my surroundings. I was a lifeguard for a Day Camp at a lake and I not only guarded but also taught swimmers from the age of 3-12 years old how to swim. I love to play water games such as sharks and minnows, red light green light and relay with the swimmers. When I was younger my mom would always have to remind me to eat because I could swim all day if I had the option too. This is why I take pride in being a lifeguard it’s not just a job for me but kind of a lifestyle where water is my element.
Home turf areas for me: Pelham, Whie Plains, New York City
Waterfront Lifeguard Certified as well.
I’ve worked as a pool guard for a public athletic center and as an ocean/pool guard for a private beach club. I intend to continue developing my skills as a lifeguard while continuing to forge connections with people and making swimmers feel safe. I intend to improve upon my sense of responsibility and independence. What I like most about lifeguarding is working with people. I thrive off of the energy from the adults and kids and enjoy making connections with new people. One fun fact about me is that I love drawing and painting (particularly in Bob Ross’ style). Also, my initials are JZ (kind of like Jay-z the rapper 🙂
I serve the NY/ Long Island communities of Southampton, Westhampton, Riverhead, Hampton Bays, Easthampton, among others
I started lifeguarding during high school and loved it, I worked at a country club that also hosted corporate and private events, I soon realized that the days of those events were my favorite to work. My intention when guarding is to keep everyone safe and happy while in and around the pool. What I love most about lifeguarding is all the interesting people you get to meet, and a fun fact about me is while I am a collegiate athlete and I swim 3 times a week for my training I am actually a pole vaulter on a track team!

Hi my name is Maryann McNally. I am 21 years old. I live on Long Island, NY. I am certified in CPR and life-guarding. I have been lifeguarding for 6 summers now. I want the everyone in the pool to be safe and have fun! I also have experience teaching swimming lessons. I was a swimming instructor for 2 years.
I have been teaching swimming lessons for three years now and I enjoy teaching kids the most because they are sponges. They learn quickly and I find it very rewarding to see a child’s progress. I also like teaching adults because you can rationalize with them when it comes to fear or their corrections. Teaching lessons is enjoyable for me because I know what it’s like to have that fear of the water and I love helping people get over that.
I have been lifeguarding for three summers too and working in different pools has taught me to be aware of surroundings that you would think wouldn’t cause any trouble. I like lifeguarding events because not only am I guarding lives, I also get to see kids having fun and it reminds me of my childhood. One fun fact about me is that I didn’t know how to swim when I joined water polo in high school, I was actually terrified of the water.
I serve the NYC communities of Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, among others.
I have spent three summers lifeguarding at an inner city pool in NH. During that time I worked closely with three camps who used our facility every day. Occasionally, we would have close to 300 patrons.
I enjoyed working with children so much that I’m a certified NY state teacher and a camp counselor.

I am excited for the opportunity to inspire others to feel the same way I do about the water! ! Be ready to learn and have a lot of fun! 🙂
Hi, I’m Simon and am a new lifeguard this summer. I feel that my status as a rookie guard is more of a strength, rather than a detriment, because I have recent training and I am very eager to be a lifeguard. In my school, I am the editor-in-chief of the school newspaper and a player on the varsity basketball team, as well as a member of my township’s youth council and an active altar server. I’m all about giving back, so I am excited to serve.
I serve the NYC Tri-State Area communities of Somerset, New Brunswick, Bridgewater, Piscataway, among others.
I have worked for City of Glendale and Los Angeles County as a lifeguard and I am currently working for city of Pasadena as a senior lifeguard. something interesting about me is that although I am a very good swimmer and a lifeguard, I am actually scared of the ocean, maybe for the fact that I do not know whats under the water since I can not see it . I am also fluent in Armenian and Farsi
Areas I commonly serve: Los Angeles, pasadena, Encino, Studio City
The 5 years worth of experience at luxury residential buildings, has exposed me to a variety of individuals of all backgrounds. The variety both in my personal life, and my work keeps my happiness and ambitions high; the mundane is of little interest to me. Lifeguarding allows me to constantly learn, expose myself to the new and striving for the spontaneous. “Carpe diem”
I serve the NYC metro areas of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, among others.
My background is in the legal profession working as a legal secretary for many years. I stopped working to raise two children who are now young adults. My daughter is a teacher in the Portland school district, and my son is an artist who lives on the East coast. For the last twenty-four years, I worked as a Special Education Assistant in the Los Angeles Unified School District. For twenty of those years, I worked with at-risk students and students with special needs at the secondary level. These students resided in a residential facility, and I worked closely not only with the entire school staff but with the social workers and staff at the residential placement. I am excited to be part of the Management Team of Happy Swimmers and look forward to working with you.
I am a NYC middle school math teacher, and love every minute of what I do. Having summers off, I decided years ago to make the most of what I can, in continuing to try to help others, so I decided to become a lifeguard/swim instructor. I have been a lifeguard for about 10 years now at a few different camps throughout the summers. There is nothing better in my eyes than seeing the faces of smiling children, knowing that they are having fun, and that they are safe at the same time.
I serve the NYC tri-state areas of Westchester County, Rockland County, Ct, among others
