Ever since a child I was always in the water. Being born in urban New York City my mother wanted me to learn how to swim. After completing all the learn to swim program levels, I decided to push myself further and become a lifeguard. Though I enjoy guarding, however my heart remains primarily as an instructor. Being able to positively change a child’s life, give them confidence in and out of the water is priceless. These are all things I wish to instill in my students, as well as my own son.

Being a lifeguard has been one of the most exciting jobs I’ve had in my life. Not only because it is a great responsibility but as well for the fun. A good lifeguard should always stand for safety, fun and being a good role model. All of which I can I promise to uphold.

Hi, my name is Charlie Palmer. I’ve been a volunteer lifeguard at Pine Bush Bible Camp for the past 4 summers and lifeguard supervisor this year and last year. My intention when lifeguarding is to make sure everyone is safe while still having fun. I can’t wait to help at your event!

I love the sense of doing a good job. Knowing that you’re the one keeping those people safe! That your skill set could be called into action at a moments notice and your adrenaline will be pumping before you have a chance to blink. The satisfaction of knowing you’re going home having helped someone whether that be simply by keeping them safe or you have actually made a rescue fills you with pride knowing that you did that and you may well possibly have changed someone’s life.

I taught swim lessons at camp and privately for the last 5 years working with children of all ages. I love helping children learn how to swim and their “aha!” moment when they finally get a stroke and become comfortable with it. I actually learned how to swim pretty early on. At the tender young age of just 4 years old I would swim on my own!

I’ve been lifeguarding for the last 8 years and teaching swim lessons for the last 5. I always keep a fun and safe environment for my patrons and love to see a smile on their faces after a job well done. Event lifeguarding is so much fun and you meet so many new and interesting people.

My name is Danielle Major and I have been a lifeguard since I was in high school. I am a mom now to 3 kids and lifeguard currently at the YMCA. I love lifeguarding and making sure adults and children are safe in a pool setting. I love the outdoors! I used to live on Maui and guarded at an outdoor pool there and swam in the ocean with the turtles. I am a water girl by heart. Please allow me to keep your kiddos safe, while having fun too!

Hi! My Name’s Eduard. Born In Russia, and spent the last 10 years living in New York. Throughout my life, I’ve spent time around the pool so I knew a lifeguard job would be perfect. Fell in love from day one. I take pride in providing and maintaining a safe environment, as well as enjoy seeing people have lots of fun!
Through my broad experience working for various luxury buildings, my awareness of the high expectations taught me to stress professionalism, and courtesy, also provide a balance with fun. Swimming is a skill which in my opinion, everyone should enjoy. It is always my goal to share that positive experience with those surrounding me.

Hello! My name is Frankie and I look forward to guarding for your event! I am a lifelong competitive swimmer, and was the captain of my NCAA college team as well as a rec league swim coach for two summers. I spent last summer working as the head lifeguard at Sarah Lawrence College (my alma mater), working about 20-25 hours per week. My favorite part about guarding is helping my patrons feel comfortable and safe in the pool! Hearing from former patrons that my smile or care made them feel at home was always a highlight! Outside of swimming I am a big reader, and love finding the best deals at my local thrift shop.

I have been a lifeguard for the past five summers at a family pool in Thornwood, NY. It’s a good job for me because I am very attentive and observant and I intend to apply those characteristics to the guests at the events. The thing I enjoy most about lifeguard is working with the children. A fun fact about me is I like to babysit my nieces and nephews.

I have been a Red Cross certified Lifeguard since 2017. I have taught swimming lessons, guarded private parties, and public kiddie and regular pools. Lifeguarding has led me to my future goal of becoming a teacher. With my lifeguard certification and passion for swimming. What I enjoy most about event lifeguarding is meeting new people and educating the swimmers on how to be safe within their own pool. I am a high school student with a passion for healthcare in all departments. My first intro to this was a life guarding career. Which I have been doing for about so far 10 months. I have learned so much about life guarding throughout the months and I am extremely skilled in problem solving. I am soon hoping to be a CNA or a certified nurse assistant in a hospital near me to learn more about general healthcare. Some facts about me is that I love cardio, swimming and weightlifting. I love photography, engineering, and leather working. I profound at algebra and biology. I am also naloxone certified and have been for a few months now. Both in administering naloxone and maintaing BLS (Basic Life Support). I am interested in becoming a pharmacist or a anesthesiologist later in life.

I come from a competitive swimming background. I was on the Middle School Junior Varsity team, Farmingdale Aquatics team, and the High School Varsity team. I have been working as a lifeguard for the Hamlet Olde Oyster Bay and The Residences at Plainview for two years and counting. My job includes surveilling the pool, checking/changing the chemicals, and assisting residents. I’ve been lifeguarding at summer camps for a few years and love it! I’m passionate about kids enjoying the water and learning to swim while being safe. My background is in the legal profession working as a legal secretary for many years. I stopped working to raise two children who are now young adults. My daughter is a teacher in the Portland school district, and my son is an artist who lives on the East coast. For the last twenty-four years, I worked as a Special Education Assistant in the Los Angeles Unified School District. For twenty of those years, I worked with at-risk students and students with special needs at the secondary level. These students resided in a residential facility, and I worked closely not only with the entire school staff but with the social workers and staff at the residential placement. I am excited to be part of the Management Team of Happy Swimmers and look forward to working with you.

Born and raised in NYC I have been swimming since I was 2 years old. I swam competitively all through grade school and high school and loved it! I have been lifeguarding year round (not only summers) for 11 years. When lifeguarding my main priority is swimmer safety while having fun!
