I received my lifeguard training certificate this previous summer. I worked at my school’s summer camp where I was a camp counselor in the morning and lifeguard in the afternoon. My intention in receiving my certification was not only to have a summer job, but acquire new skills, especially skills that gave me the ability to help other people. What I enjoy most about lifeguarding events is watching others have fun, while being safe. I enjoy getting involved in different activities and occupations, some of my own are being a lacrosse player and previous motocross competitor.

I’ve never guarded private events before but I hope to make sure that everyone has a great time swimming while also being safe in the water. I’ve swam competitively for about 8 years for club and school swim, so you know you can count on me!

Once I became really serious on my teaching career i took summer classes and started working for happy swimmers (as it fit my hectic schedule better). It is my job as a lifeguard to provide a safe and fun environment for swimming and lounging around the pool. My favorite part of lifeguarding is seeing people compete for the biggest splash! Dano, Lifeguard, Trail Runner / Actor/Voiceover artist

Hello my name is Dano (Day-Noh),
I have been Lifeguarding for close to 5 years and have always loved the water ever since I took swim lessons as a kid. My intention is to prevent any life threatening injuries while on duty and educate pool patrons about safety in or out of the water. It is a commitment of mine to engage w/ the event staff and proactively develop an appropriate EAP (emergency action plan) incase we need to activate a rescue. In addition, to keeping a safe environment it’s always fun to play some pool games and share some swimming techniques with the pool guest. Feel free to ask for an early arrival time as it’s fine if you need some help setting a few things up prior to event.

In addition to lifeguarding, I spend most of my extra time pursuing my dream as an Actor, Model and Voiceover artist. This is one of my biggest passions in life.

I serve the North Bay Area communities of Monte Rio, Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, Windsor, among others.

Evie Satero, Lifeguard, Aspiring Accordionist & Music Nerd

Hi! I’m Evie Satero and I’ve been a lifeguard at Emerald Lake for one year. As a lifeguard, I think it’s important to be friendly and approachable yet also a positive role model and always prepared. I love lifeguarding because you get to add to a fun experience and make sure that it goes as well as it possibly can. Besides lifeguarding, I love all things music, so I won’t complain if you’ve got a speaker!

Gavin, Event Lifeguard, Year round beach swimmer.

Sonoma County, CA

I’ve been a lifeguard for for over 3 years now but swimming has always been a big part of my life. I swam competitively in high school and have always loved the water. Growing up going to pools I always felt safe knowing there was a lifeguard watching. In my guarding I aim to help others enjoy the water, while making them feel safe. I feel lucky to be able to guard events where I get to meet and interact with new people while maintaining a fun and safe environment for kids and adults.

Serving: Petaluma, Sonoma, Napa, Bodega bay

Gloria Walker, Lifeguard, LGI, CPR Instructor

Santa Cruz, CA

Why a Lifeguard at my age? I was teaching water fitness and I asked myself would I be able to respond to a water emergency? No. I became certified within 3 months. Being in the water has always been natural to me. Lessons starting at 4 and the Swim and Dive Team by 10. Fun Water safety and being water safe that’s my motto. Being older I believe I have that extra edge. That experience, the intuition. Call it loving what you do and enjoying the moment. Anything you enjoy doing you do well.

Maggie | Private Swim Instructor | San Jose, CA

Maggie, Private Swim Instructor and Lifeguard

Almaden

Hi, my name is Maggie and I’ve been teaching swim lessons for 4 years with ages 6 months to 12 years old. I’ve also worked with children for 7 years as a tutor, nanny, babysitter and mentor while working towards a bachelors degree in 2021. I love working with children and making a difference much like many mentors did for me. Before becoming a lifeguard, I was a member of a local swim team for 10 years.

I have also been a lifeguard for 4 years. I began my love for water growing up in and around a pool starting swim team at age 5 and continuing until age 15 when I became a lifeguard. I have a passion for water and water sports as they have always been a part of my life and I would like to share my passion while reinforcing safety in a fun environment. My favorite part about lifeguarding events is getting to know new people and watching others share my passion and love for water.

I serve the SF Bay Area communities of San Jose: Sunnyvale, Cupertino, Campbell, Saratoga, Los Gatos, among others.

Megan Friedenberg, Lifeguard, Avid Hiker and Part-time Drummer

I have been lifeguarding for 4 years now and have always worked year-round. I have worked at multiple public recreation departments and swim clubs. My style of lifeguarding is preventative, stopping accidents and injuries before they occur. Safety for everyone is always my top priority and is why I love to lifeguard events (besides playing with kids from time to time!). A neat fact about me is I play multiple instruments and am part of USC’s drumline.

I have always loved being in the water and sun and was naturally drawn to lifeguarding by the opportunity to help people every day as well as its perfect environment. I love my job because I can come home from work really feeling like I’ve made a difference, and because it enables me to be a lifelong learner as I gain more knowledge and experience. I’m also currently a lead lifeguard at my community pool, taking an EMT class, and am a microbiology pre-med student at Cal Poly and can’t wait to see how I can continue continue to learn & grow so I can positively impact our world!

Hey there! I have been swimming since I could walk, definitely making me a fish out of water. Getting in the water has to be one the best feelings, both mentally and physically. I enjoy helping others, in and out of the pool. I find that there is no better satisfaction than ensuring the health and safety of others, so they can have a great time and enjoy the outdoors! A fun fact about me: I love to sing!

Steve, Lifeguard, Movie Connoisseur and avid Basketball Fanatic

San Francisco

Hi, My name is Steve and I’ve been a competitive swimmer for about 10 years now, and I’ve always had a love for pools and swimming. I’ve decided to begin life-guarding because I felt that I could help and contribute to the safety and enjoyment of all swimmers in order for them to fall in love with swimming as I did. Even though I haven’t had any official life-guarding experience, my father worked as a lifeguard for many years and has helped mentor me and is continuing to help me have a better understanding of all aspects of the job. Hope to see you in the pool!
