Yumi and Jere were wonderful lifeguards when they guarded our end of year pool party on Wednesday June 11 from 11-2. They were in touch with me, were on time and prepared, and were very responsible and knowledgeable. I was so happy to be able to put two adults in charge of our fourth grade class party.
Based on my experience with Yumi Temple and her cohort Jere, I would highly recommend Happy Swimmers.
Thank you for a wonderful experience. So happy we used your business.
Hi Jenn.. wow today was really scary. I had to use my first aid skills on my mom! We work at the same preschool & she had an allergic reaction & went into shock! I did everything I remembered until the paramedics came.. I really can’t thank you enough for teaching me everything I needed to know!
Everything about my experience with Happy Swimmers has been amazing! From the scheduling to the fantastic teacher they sent for my 5 and 6 year old. The instructor, Emma, had to contend with 2 very different personalities along with 2 different levels of swimming experience. She was more than equipped to deal with that and gave each child unparalleled support, encouragement and instruction. I highly recommend this service to all parents that want to give their child a great experience in being water safe!
We have three kids ages 7, 4, and 2 & 1/2. This was our second year having Happy Swimmers, with instructor Trisha Commons, come teach our kids (the two oldest) to swim. I tried another company the year before I tried Happy Swimmers and although the kids learned swim safety, they were bored and did not learn how to enjoy the pool. Trisha got our son, who did not really like swimming, having fun and by the end of last year could swim the entire length of the pool on his own.
Trisha is great with the kids and is flexible in her teaching style to work with different personalities. She is able to get the kids confident in their abilities and teaches them how to swim, but also teaches them how to have fun! I will definitely be asking Happy Swimmers and Trisha to teach the kids again next year.
I have a toddler and a pool and wanted to make sure my son learned water safety. After taking some group classes last summer, I knew I wanted more one-on-one attention at our home. This summer I reviewed several in-home companies and was impressed with Happy Swimmers approach of water safety.
Trish worked with my stubborn 2-yr old 2-3 times a week. Within the first lesson he knew how to climb out of the pool and to ask permission before getting in. Although our goal was to get him water comfortable more than “swimming”, he indeed learned to swim within a few weeks. We extended our lessons and really appreciated Trish’s approach. We will sign up again next summer. Many of our friends with children happened to be present on several lessons and I expect they will also sign up next summer as well.
Hired a happy swimmers for private life guard for a party for over 200 people at my house. The lifeguard was great. She called to confirm before, came on time, and stayed later then we originally signed up because the party went over. She also showed up on time despite there being a black out that because of storms the day before. I highly recommend Happy Swimmers.

From my love of the water sprang a lifeguarding job when I was sixteen years old. I started working at Golfland Sunsplash and loved every minute of it. I enjoyed watching the water, ensuring people were following the rules and being safe, and stepping in when emergencies did arise. Over the years at Golfland Sunsplash, I saved a number of people and always felt grateful to have a job being around a place that I loved so much. My love for water shows in the way that I interact with guests because I want them to have as enjoyable of an experience as I do being around it and in it when I’m scuba diving. I hope to work your event because I believe in not only keeping you and your guests safe but also being upbeat while doing so. To leave off, a fun fact about me is that I have scuba dived in Okinawa, Japan and also Monterey Bay. I hope to someday scuba dive in Antarctica.
My favorite part of teaching swim lessons is being able to help kids gain confidence in the water! I find nothing to be more gratifying than when I am able to teach a child how to swim and see how far they are able to come throughout our lesson. I have taught swim lessons and assisted with our Jr. Swim program for 3 years at our community pool. I have always loved the water and want others to be able to not be afraid of it. Fun fact: I taught my little sister how to swim when she was 3 and I was 5!

Why a Lifeguard at my age? I was teaching water fitness and I asked myself would I be able to respond to a water emergency? No. I became certified within 3 months. Being in the water has always been natural to me. Lessons starting at 4 and the Swim and Dive Team by 10. Fun Water safety and being water safe that’s my motto. Being older I believe I have that extra edge. That experience, the intuition. Call it loving what you do and enjoying the moment. Anything you enjoy doing you do well.

A little bit about Christine: After working as an LAPD scientific investigator for 11 years I transitioned to completing my M.S. degree in Chemistry then followed a teaching and research path in university academics for several years. I then moved to Hawaii in 2008 where I first joined the JTA CPR/ Happy Swimmers team as a CPR/First Aid instructor. During these years I had always made a priority in volunteerism being active in the National Ski Patrol and the USC Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber. Today I reside in Houston and presently support Help America Today turning elementary aged kids into the volunteers of tomorrow through grassroots community service projects. I have worked for City of Glendale and Los Angeles County as a lifeguard and I am currently working for city of Pasadena as a senior lifeguard. something interesting about me is that although I am a very good swimmer and a lifeguard, I am actually scared of the ocean, maybe for the fact that I do not know whats under the water since I can not see it . Hello! My names Victoria and I have been teaching kids to swim for over 3 years. Prior to swim instructing I was swimming at the competitive level for over 10 years. I love teaching kids of all ages and my experience ranges from teaching ages 4 months to adults. In my experience the earlier kids start the better, the water is waiting! I love teaching kids both the technical aspects of the strokes and also just helping them get comfortable in the water. Teaching swim lessons is so rewarding to me because I know I’m helping someone learn such an important life skill. A little fun fact about me is that I love to travel the world!
I have also been professionally lifeguarding for over three years! Lifeguarding is one of my absolute favorite jobs because I get to be by the pool, which I love, and also ensure that I’m keeping my fellow swimmers safe. My intention when guarding is to create a safe environment where all swimmers are at ease and having a blast in the pool. I love getting to watch people enjoying the water while knowing they are safe.
I serve the Sacramento communities of Elk Grove, Sacramento, Davis, Roseville, among others.
I have been lifeguarding for three years, I started working for a Stanford private pool until I continued on to work at for the Palo Alto public pool Rinconada. Now I work for Happy Swimmers and I couldn’t be more please with my decision. I pride myself on being a cheerful, outgoing, and responsible individual.
My home base areas I serve: Los Altos, Palo Alto, Atherton, Redwood City
I am currently a lifeguard for an upper class swim and racquet club as well as Happy Swimmers. This constant exposure to lifeguarding keeps me sharp on the necessary skills to keep the pool safe. I enjoy swimming, helping others and hope to get my EMT certification next Spring.
Serving the general areas of San Jose, Saratoga, Los Gatos, Los Altos and traveling throughout the Bay Area.
