I have worked with children with autism for the past 2 years, and I plan on studying special education at the University of Kansas next year.
I’ve lifeguarded for a few family friends birthday parties. I love to lifeguard because I love to work around the water. I like to make sure anyone in the water is having fun, but of course being safe. My favorite part of lifeguarding events is when I have the opportunity to work children’s parties and invent water games for them to play. I’m very fun and easy going and work well with children.

I have been a swim instructor for 3 years teaching both groups and private lessons. I have taught children of all ages, ranging from 5 years old to 12 years old; I have taught adults as well. I love watching when a lesson masters a new skill and becomes more confident in themselves. One fun fact about myself: I know how to snowboard!
I have lifeguarded at a private college ranging from open swimming to diving. I intend to maintain a safe and fun environment. The best part of lifeguarding events is watching people enjoy the pool.
Serving: Lawrenceville, Hamilton, Princeton, Mountgomery
There is nothing more valuable than teaching a skill like swimming that will offer one a safe experience & can literally open doors to increased self-confidence & competence in any body of water—be it pool-sea-or lake. Years of coaching water polo & operating Los Angeles Jr. Lifeguard program enabled me to amass an enormous tool box of skills to help teach people of all ages to swim & handle themselves safely in the water.
As a 30 year veteran of Los Angeles County Lifeguard & Fire Dept Paramedic I know how rewarding & important maintaining a safe environment for the public & swimmers can be. Spotting & preventing danger is a learned skill that when actively applied can literally make the difference between a fun day or one wrought with tragedy. Turning people onto the stoke of water play is really a gift that should be shared with everyone.

I have loved the water since I was able to walk. I have traveled and lived in three countries: China, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates. my time living in these countries has provided me with various teaching opportunities and also exposure to different cultures. Students I had instructed have been from China, the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Korea, and India. The summer of 2013 was when I became interested in teaching swim lessons to learners of all ages. I had previously served on the aquatics team of Lifeline Aquatics, Safeguard Aquatics, the Lancaster Family YMCA, Twin Lakes Family YMCA, Lititz Recreation Center, and Waterloo Swimming. As I worked with these aquatic organizations, my love of teaching swimming to all learners increased.
I look forward to working with you and your family to help you make swimming an enjoyable experience as the summer heat comes upon us.

Ever since a child I was always in the water. Being born in urban New York City my mother wanted me to learn how to swim. After completing all the learn to swim program levels, I decided to push myself further and become a lifeguard. Though I enjoy guarding, however my heart remains primarily as an instructor. Being able to positively change a child’s life, give them confidence in and out of the water is priceless. These are all things I wish to instill in my students, as well as my own son.
Being a lifeguard has been one of the most exciting jobs I’ve had in my life. Not only because it is a great responsibility but as well for the fun. A good lifeguard should always stand for safety, fun and being a good role model. All of which I can I promise to uphold.
Proud Parent to a beautiful son.

I have been teaching swim lessons since I was 15 (it was the very first job I ever had!) and I still love it to this day. I’ve worked with babies as young as 6 months all the way up to teenagers preparing for high school swim teams. I also have taught beginning to advanced adult lessons. I am a certified personal trainer and group exercise instructor, so I love tailoring lessons to each individual! No matter the age or ability level, the best part is seeing the progress someone makes when they overcome previous obstacles, such as putting their head underwater or diving in the deep end!
Hi, I’m Coco! I have been a swim instructor for a few years now, but have been working with kids for most of my life. It all started in Girl Scouts when I got to host my first event. I loved the energy the kids brought to the table, and from that moment, I knew I had to work with them. Experience in Girl Scouts helped me become a babysitter/nanny and camp counselor, and has eventually led me to teaching swim. Being a swim instructor seemed natural for me because I swam competitively in high school and love being in the water, as well as working with people. My favorite part about teaching swim is watching the child progress. The pride and excitement in their eyes when they finally master a skill they had been struggling with is priceless :~). A fun fact about me is that my favorite animal is the polar bear and I could talk your ear off for hours about why they’re so fascinating!
I became a lifeguard in high school and am now in my second year of college. I wanted to be lifeguard because I love swimming so much that didn’t want to be away from the pool while I was out of the water! I am also very concerned with safety ever since I took my very first CPR class with my Girl Scout troop. The instructor inspired me to continue on in my safety education and become AED and First Aid certified, and then eventually become a lifeguard and get my emergency oxygen distribution and blood borne pathogens certifications. I believe that people should have only good experiences in the water, and want to do everything I can to make that happen. I hope that everyone is able to enjoy the pool regardless of their skill level, and always feel safe in the water. A fun fact about me is that I love rock climbing!
I serve the OC, Inland Empire, and San Diego communities of Temecula, Murrieta, Menifee, and Orange, among others.
I have been a swimmer for 19 years competitively. I also swam in college for 3 years. I have coached my old high school swim team for two years and was the head varsity coach. I also coached my club team for 3 years with the ages 6-18. I also teach adults as well for the past 3 years.
I have been a lifeguard with the YMCA of Orange County for 3 years. I have done multiple rescues within my lifeguard career on the job and off. I love lifeguarding because I like to make sure everyone is safe and when I have to make a rescue it means I’m doing my job and makes me happy that I Saved someone.
Serving: San Bernardino, Fontana, Ontario, Rancho, Upland
I taught swim lessons at camp and privately for the last 3 years working with children of all ages. I love helping children learn how to swim and their “aha!” moment when they finally get a stroke and become comfortable with it. I actually learned how to swim pretty early on. At the tender young age of just 4 years old I would swim on my own!
I’ve been lifeguarding for the last 5 years and teaching swim lessons for the last 3. I always keep a fun and safe environment for my patrons and love to see a smile on their faces after a job well done. Event lifeguarding is so much fun and you meet so many new and interesting people.
I serve the NYC Tri-State Areas of Paramus, Philadelphia, New York, Manalapan, among others.
Swim Instructor role: Growing up in the West Valley with a backyard pool, I learned to swim at a young age and got into water polo during high school and college. Water sports like surfing and sailing are hobbies of mine and I first started teaching private swim lessons shortly after I started my teaching career at Hoover High School in 1996. I still currently teach Health and PE while also serving in my Coast Guard reserve unit in San Pedro as a First Class Marine Science Technician. My son in grade school has been competing for two years on a swim team and loves it. All kids should have that opportunity.
Event Lifeguard role: Aside from the last two years working for Happy Swimmers, friends and family would ask me to act as a life guard for pool parties and functions when I became Red Cross certified for water safety and CPR. A good life guard takes preventative measures to mitigate potential hazards by identifying them early before the function begins. Done properly, pool saves are few and quick. I love the anticipation of potential challenges that each venue may pose and being a part of a random family”s fun safe memories they will have.
I just recently started swim instructing about half a year go and have loved every moment. The satisfaction the children get when they have learned a stroke or how to improve it is pure bliss. I feel amazing knowing my job is done when parents come up to me informing me what their child has done at their own pool. Ensuring safety is also a big role in this job and teaching children how to swim makes that so much better.
I have been Lifeguarding for two years now and have loved every moment of it. Maintaining a happy and positive attitude while ensuring safety plays a big role when Lifeguarding, enjoying the job just makes it that much better. Making both the parents and children happy and safe are very important to me.

I want to make sure whichever event I am invited to I can help the event run smoothly as well as make it enjoyable for all parties present. A fun fact about me: I just got back from 3 months in South Africa working in clinics and going on adventures, so if you want to see cool photos and videos of shark cage diving, bungee jumping and safaris, I would love to share!
I love teaching people how to swim! I have taught swim lessons for six years excluding my own personal experience with swim. I have taught between the age ranges of 6 months to 84 years old, so I am comfortable with teaching just about everything! I can teach the basics of strokes, refinement of stroke technique, as well as simply getting comfortable in the water and learning how to swim and be safe in water for the first time! Swim lessons hold a special place in my heart because I would never be who I am today if I did not having amazing instructors help me not only gain skills swimming but also making me feel comfortable with my abilities as well as gain confidence. Fun fact about me: my favorite stroke is backstroke, and my favorite race was the 200 meter back– not a popular favorite but loads of fun to me!
Serving: Sacramento, Granite Bay, Carmichael, Folsom
I have also been teaching swim lessons for 7 years, I volunteered for 2 years to learn what I know and have taught my own classes for the other 5 years. I ahem experience with group classes, one on one, special needs and all ages.
I have been a lifeguard since 2013. With my 6 years of experience, I have found a love for what I do. Lifeguarding is a really important and meaningful job that I get the honor of doing and thanks to Happy Swimmers, I can help keep backyard pools safe now too. I am a swimmer myself and swam on Red Mountain’s Varsity Swim Team in High School. Currently, I am going into my junior year of college pursuing a degree in Economics.
I serve the Phoenix communities of Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Tempe, among others
I learned to swim when I was three years old, and joined competitive swimming when I was five. Fifteen years later, I am now a member of the Florida Institute of Technology University Swim Team going into my junior year. I’ve been teaching swim lessons for three years and absolutely love it. There’s no greater feeling than exposing a new swimmer to the joys of the sport and ability I’ve loved my entire life, and helping someone progress towards water safety and proficiency. I can teach basic water safety all the way up to advanced skills and fine tuning, and just love watching swimmers progress in the activity!
I first started swim instructing last year, working all seasons and now summer. I’ve taught kids from all age groups 6 months to 15 years old. I’ve also taught kids who are very scared of water and kids who are naturals. Previously, I competed on a swim team for 6 years, two in college and four in high school. Therefore, I’m very familiar with proper techniques and stroke work. Because I have also taught kids who didn’t know anything about swimming or just were just too fearful of water, I have learned to make sure kids are having fun while learning but are also safe!
I’ve been lifeguarding for three years, starting at a water park and now I currently work at a pool. I primarily guard birthday parties and know a lot of water games kids love to play. I always make sure the kids are having fun and smiling but most of all are being safe. Lifeguarding and teaching are my passions so I take my job very serious, however I always make sure to have a smile on, ensuring everyone is having fun.
I serve the San Diego communities of Imperial Beach, Chula vista, La jolla, Coronado, Del Mar, downtown San Diego, La mesa, East lake, mission valley, among others.
Former YMCA and Lifetime swim instructor with 5 years of teaching experience. I was also on a competitive swimming from the age of 7 to 15 until my new calling came; lifeguarding. I have experience with special needs children, adults, infants and everything in between. Every one of my students brought out the inner child in me because learning to swim is fun! We can both make this learning experience something unforgettable! Ask me about my songs I sing to my student!!!
Take nothing but memories, leave nothing but footprints, kill nothing but time. Everyone’s life is precious. Former competitive swimmer and also experience assisting at a daycare for 10+ years naturally put me in a place of lifeguard. Water safety is my priority over everything!
I have been a lifeguard and swim instructor for 5 years.
I began my instruction career at the Rutgers University pool. I began with teaching adults and then transitioned to teaching children. I also taught a few children’s lessons over the summer at the YMCA camp. I thoroughly enjoy teaching children because of their typically energetic attitude just to be in the water. The most amount of joy I get from teaching is when I see the amazement in an adult’s eyes when they are swimming when they came in with the thought they’d never learn how to swim.
My background consists of learning to swim as a small child and becoming a competitive swimmer in my youth through to high school. I began Lifeguarding five years ago at Rutgers University, where I am now a Head Lifeguard. I also have experience being a lake lifeguard with the Frost Valley YMCA camp. I thoroughly enjoyed my time working with the camp. My intention for being a Lifeguard and Swimming instructor is to help make any aquatics setting as safe and comfortable as I can for as many people as I can. I enjoy interacting with energetic people, and being able to provide a form of safety and security for people that is very unique and in a setting where people can thoroughly enjoy themselves.
I serve the NYC Tri-State area communities of Long Branch, Manasquan, Atlantic City, among others.
I have 10 years of experience teaching swim lessons.
I serve the Houston communities of Houston, Katy, Cypress, among others.

Greetings, I’m Arthur! I have been a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor for over 25 years.
I’m from Chicago. I’ve had a beautiful relationship with the water since I was a child. I was on the swim team in high school and the water polo club in my neighborhood park where I first learned to swim as a child. Years later at that same park I became a Lifeguard for the Chicago Park District. I later lifeguarded and became a Swim Instructor at Richard J Daley College and also at the YMCA in Illinois and in Hollywood, California. Since 2002 I’ve been a Behavior Specialist, Lifeguard, Water Safety Instructor and CPR Instructor at a non public school in Cheviot Hills (West LA). I work with emotionally disturbed children who are diagnosed with Autism, bipolar disorder, ADHD and a host of other Mental illness and psychiatric disorders. I love the water, it’s one of the most consistent things in my life. I also love the joy of someone overcoming their fear of water and finally embracing it.
Serving: West Los Angele, Westwood, Beverly Hills
After being trained by the Y in 2011, I worked as a waterfront/pool lifeguard and swim instructor. I have guarded and taught swim lessons at summer camps and at my local gyms since then. In 2015 I earned my BS in Marine Biology and became a scientific diver for ReefCheckCA and began volunteering with the girl and boy scouts marine day adventures in 2014. I have enjoyed sharing my knowledge and love for all things aquatic and ensuring that everyone has a safe enjoyable experience.
Serving: Beverly Hills, Pasadena, Calabasas, Chatsworth
I taught and swam all levels. From novice to competitive swimming, toddler to high school, adults and children. I enjoy seeing the look of accomplishment of everyone once they see progression. I like to think I have an eye for swimming and showing how to get the most effective swim with the least amount of effort.
See you at the pool!

Having been a competitive swimmer for 13 years of my life, swimming is something I am incredibly passionate about! My career as a swim instructor began when I was just 14 years old. I taught private and group swim lessons at my club team to children aged 5-12 years old. After teaching private lessons for a year, my love for swim instructing expanded to coaching a SAIL swim team comprised of 90 – 120 kids aged from 4 – 18 years old. I coached the same team for 3 years, leading them to be division champions my 2nd year. While coaching I continued to teach swim lessons on the side. My private lessons ranged from children who were learning the basic building blocks of swimming (i.e. intro to water safety, putting face in water, floating, etc) to advanced competitive swimmers who needed help with stroke technique and racing strategy. I also taught swim lessons to adults, from those who just wanted to feel more comfortable in the water to those who wanted to swim in intramural teams for exercise and fun competition. One of my favorite things about teaching swim lessons is seeing the self confidence that people gain through being more comfortable in the water. Some of my favorite students have been those who were afraid to put their heads underwater, and then by the time swim lessons were over I couldn’t get them to leave the pool! I also really love teaching stroke technique to swimmers who want to improve competition form/times. My swim instructing philosophy is simple: I believe that everyone can swim! I believe that the water should never be scary, and that through positive experiences and encouragement swimming can be fun and safe for everyone.

Living on Kaua’i island, Hawai’i most of the year, and traveling to Australia, Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay, and Houston regularly to lead Lifeguard Courses and CPR training, Jenn has been the director of Happy Swimmers for over 25 years. It is a passion to assist in the empowerment of children learning how to swim in a medium once considered a fearful, uncertain place, magically turned into a supportive, fun environment to be explored with friends. The same goes for lifeguarding and training new lifeguards–there is no greater inner joy either in saving someone’s life as a lifeguard, or teaching others how to perform lifesaving skills. It is an honor for me to watch my students grow–where once there was doubt or panic, now there is strength and confidence.
Thank you for looking to become a Happy Swimmer!

Hello! I have been teaching swim lessons for a little over three years now and it is by far my favorite job I have ever had! I am CPR certified by the American Heart Association and I am also a nursing student. I was on a competitive swim team for a little over 4 years, so I ham very familiar with all the strokes. I am currently attending the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas and I love it. Teaching swim lessons is awesome because I get to work with kids. It makes me so happy seeing them progress throughout the summer. I want to make sure that every child knows how to be safe in the water and has a basic understanding of swimming. I have taught all ages up to 8 years.
My name is John and I have been a swim instructor for the past 4 and a half years. I have experience with children ages 2-15, and I have even taught adult classes in the past. I have received recognition from the City of Scottsdale for excellent instructor work, and I take pride in my ability to teach kids how to swim. What I like most about teaching swim lessons is seeing the kids smile and have a good time. It feels nice to know I’m teaching a valuable life skill, and it feels even better to know the children are having a good time doing so!
I have been guarding for the past 5 years! I have experience as a lifeguard, a head lifeguard, and even as an assistant manager. I have received recognition for outstanding guarding on multiple occasions, and I really enjoy guarding overall! It feels good to ensure the safety of others, especially children, and I hope to work as many events as possible!

Hi there! I’m beginning a job as a speech therapist this upcoming school year, and am SO excited to spend this summer break in the pool teaching kiddos to swim! Teaching swim lessons combines two of my great loves- helping kids reach their full potential, and being in the water.
I’ve coached the 6 & under as well as older age groups on swim team for several years, as well as taught private individual and group lessons to swimmers from zero swimming ability, to swimmers needing to perfect their strokes. I think the secret to teaching kids is building trust and making their time with you FUN! Other than coaching and teaching swim I have tons of experience babysitting and working with kids of all different kinds of special needs as a Speech Pathologist.
I love helping new swimmers gain confidence in their swimming ability that allows them to be safe and have fun in the water, and would love to share my love for swimming with you and your family this summer!
Serving: Irving, Euless, Grapevine, Farmers Branch, Carrollton, University Park
I teach water safety by building a loving, trusting relationship with all students, both children and adults, through private swim lessons. I have worked with individuals with special needs, too. I like to give ways to practice and promote even greater learning in-between the lessons and taught children how to survive falls into the water. I love seeing kids grow in their strength and having fun! With my 10 years of experience so far, I have also coached water polo (I was a goalie) and swimming teams, and was a diver in high school.
I serve the Bay Area communities of Morgan Hill, San Jose, Saratoga, Milpitas, among others.

I have been teaching swim lessons for 3 years. I have taught all ages ranging from 6 months all the way up to adults. I have also taught in class settings as well as private lessons. I have experience teaching all skill levels. My favorite part about swim lessons is helping students master a new skill! I have been a competitive swimmer almost all of my life so swimming has always been one of my favorite activities!
I have been lifeguarding pools for 3 years. My favorite part about lifeguarding is that it is always a positive environment because people love swimming! I always make sure to scan the entire pool properly to ensure a safe experience for all of the swimmers. I have also coached water polo as a certified lifeguard so that adds an interesting element to the mix.

I have been teaching swim lessons for 10 years. I come from a water polo and swim background having played all through junior high, high school, and college!! I have also coached water polo and swim team. I enjoy teaching others the skills they need in order to love and enjoy being in the water too while being safe at the same time 🙂
I have been lifeguarding for 10 years.I have been lifeguarding for 10 years. I love the water and enjoy making sure others are safe while they have fun in the water too. Over the past decade, I have truly come to see the responsibility that comes with being a lifeguard and it is a responsibility I take very seriously. I love having fun in the pool but safety first- always. I have performed multiple real rescues to both children and adults.
I first learned how to swim when I was 5-years-old, jumping into the pool right after my older brothers. Since then, I have been a competitive swimmer on my high school swim team and club swim team.
I began teaching lessons at 15, working with children as young as 2 in group and private settings, as well as adults. My favorite lessons were with special needs children with disabilities like autism, down syndrome and ADHD. I believe that every child is different, so there is not right or wrong way to learn – I do my best to adjust my teaching to the individual.
With my 4 years as a Summer league swim coach, I am knowledgable on instructing any level of swimmers – from those just learning how to blow bubbles and floating to advanced swimmers looking to learn how to dive, flip turn and perform proper stroke technique. Above all else, I make sure the learning process is fun and everyone is smiling at the end of the day!
My dream job as a child was to lifeguard at my local neighborhood pool, the place where I spent every Summer growing up. I began working here at 15-years-old, and returned every Summer for 5 years as a lifeguard, swim instructor, pool manager and swim coach.
Since beginning my college career at the University of Texas at Austin, I have lifeguarded for the RecSports Aquatics center. After working here for 3 years, I have been promoted to headguard as well as received my lifeguard instructor certification.
With my years as a Summer league swim coach, I have endless patience, pool games and compassion for working with kids. While my priority is always safety, I’d be more than happy to lead races, sharks and minnows, pigeon, categories… the list goes on!
Serving: San Antonio, Pleasanton, New Braunfels, San Marcus, Austin
I have been working as a lifeguard and swim instructor for over 12 years. I began my water experience at the age of 14 when I played water polo. Along with water polo I participated in swimming, my high school and college surf teams. I love being in the water and helping others in the skills to be safe, successful, and have fun in the water. I have taught swim lessons from babies to adults and I feel comfortable and confident working with any type of swimmer. I am looking forward to teaching you or your swimmer the best swimming skills around!
As a lifeguard I pride myself in the recognition of when a swimmer can be in distress and to prevent any incidents. I am looking forward to a Sunny San Diego Summer with all swimmers out there!
I have 2 years Swim Instruction, Coaching, & lifeguard experience.
As a swim instructor, I teach kids to not only learn how to swim but to love swimming. I want them to be safe in the water and not depend on anyone else to help them. What I enjoy most about teaching anyone how to swim is seeing their progress and seeing them start to really love swimming and enjoy being in water. I love taking a kid who was originally scared and timid in the water and getting them to absolutely love swimming and love coming to swim lessons. Teaching swim lessons is a very fulfilling job and I love feeling like I have an impact on a child’s life. I still remember my swim instructor from when I first learned how to swim and I hope that the kids I teach will remember me and all I teach them. I have taught over 100 people ranging all different age groups, from as young as 6 months old to adults over 50. I was also a part time swim coach for a summer league team and a year-round team. I’m great with teaching freestyle and backstroke and moderate on teaching the harder strokes breaststroke and butterfly. I have also taught some more experienced kids how to do dives and flip turns. I have taken kids from fearing the water to swimming all the way across a 25-meter pool with no help.

As a young child I began my teaching career babysitting my younger siblings in the shoreline of Haleiwa, where we were raised. We grew up in the ocean learning to dive, sail, fish and surf, and I never missing an opportunity to learn more about the water. I passes on what I knew to my siblings and as a young adult began teaching others as well. After graduating from Kamehameha Schools, I began beach guarding for the City and County of Honolulu as well as Hawaiian Water Patrol, both specializing on beaches along the North Shore of Oahu. I continue to serve this duty and teach the youth thru programs like Jr. Lifeguards and Surfers Healing, a non-profit organization that takes/teaches children with autism how to surf.
Aloha! I have 9 years Swim Instruction Experience
My swim career began in 2008 working for the local park district in Washington state. From the start I taught ages 6 months to adult where I was able to enjoy watching people grow in their swimming abilities. In 2011 I expanded my teaching to include not only the local park district, but our local YMCA to diversify my teaching method. At the YMCA I continued to teach all ages. I have had the blessing to teach students all all ages, backgrounds and physical abilities to include students with various special needs. As a mom to an active and adventurous 3 year old little boy, I know the importance of properly teaching your child to swim in the most caring, and fun way. Hi, my name is Maggie and I’ve been teaching swim lessons for 4 years with ages 6 months to 12 years old. I’ve also worked with children for 7 years as a tutor, nanny, babysitter and mentor while working towards a bachelors degree in 2021. I love working with children and making a difference much like many mentors did for me. Before becoming a lifeguard, I was a member of a local swim team for 10 years.
I have also been a lifeguard for 4 years. I began my love for water growing up in and around a pool starting swim team at age 5 and continuing until age 15 when I became a lifeguard. I have a passion for water and water sports as they have always been a part of my life and I would like to share my passion while reinforcing safety in a fun environment. My favorite part about lifeguarding events is getting to know new people and watching others share my passion and love for water.

My Swim Instructor Bio: Hello I’ve been actively teaching swim lessons for six years and enjoy this more than any other profession I’ve ever been involved in. There is nothing better than doing what you love for a living and being able to teach and share it with others. I get to teach a child; learn life long skills that last a life time, as well as safety and the joy of the water. I’m always amazed at how students learn so much in a short period of time. It also fun to watch them, “Strut Their Stuff” when they become confident at what they have learned. I started swimming at age 3 and have never enjoyed anything more than the water. I have been a competitive swimmer, PADI diver and Coast Guard Auxiliary member for many years.
I am also Manager of Swim Instructors in All Areas except California–AZ,TX, DC, and NY. Contact me through the website contact form, for anything swim instructor related once swim lessons have begun with your instructor.

Swim Bio: Hello, my name is Armando. I am a Hispanic male i am 5’10 and weigh about 175. I am very athletic and love to exercise. I’ve played many sports throughout my youth. I swam and played water polo throughout high school. I also played other sports outside of school such as soccer, football, and baseball. I began to lifeguard my first year after high school. I taught swim lessons to kids from the ages of 5-12. I really enjoyed working with the kids, they always made my day. It’s truly an amazing feeling knowing you played a big part in teaching a child a valuable lesson that goes a long way. Swimming is a life skill you must learn in my opinion sort of like riding a bike. I take great passion in what I do and safety always comes first.
Lifeguarding in the Summer is one of the best jobs for a college student I believe. What’s more fun then being by the water and soaking in the sun in the midst of Summer? I remember going to the pool every summer and talking to the lifeguards. I always thought they looked so cool and what kid didn’t want to be cool? I have guarded for a little more then a year now and I can honestly say I love it knowing the importance of saving one’s life or being able to prevent a terrible accident is a very important job. Makes you feel like a bit of a hero.
This will be my 4th summer as a Swim Instructor! I previously instructed at Burlingame Aquatics Club, where I taught both kids aging from 6 months to 16-17 years old and adults! I have worked with all levels of swim experience, so I am well-versed in how to foster the best learning environment and how to find the best approach to teach with–with all different types and levels of swimmers! I swam competitively for 5 years (100 backstroke is my favorite!), so I make sure to always teach the proper technique and with the goal of getting my students to where they would have the proper technique for that kind of swimming if they ever wanted to join a team. I value patience, positive reinforcement, and goal-setting! I love to see that ah-ha moment when one of my students finally succeeds in a particularly hard area–that big smile is why I love to teach! I hope to work with you or your children soon and see those big smiles!
This will be my 4th summer working as a lifeguard both extensively in the Bay Area and in New York City. Previously, I have worked at Burlingame Aquatics Club both as a lifeguard, head lifeguard, camp counselor, and swim instructor. I just finished my first year at NYU, where I guarded as well. I pride myself both on my professionalism and on the quality of service I bring to her guarding. I seek to maintain safety while promoting fun and learning both in the pool and on deck, and I strive to be a positive and reassuring presence for both the kids and for the parents! I am adaptable, communicative, and easy to work with. I love all things aquatics–swimming, the beach, hydration–!, and I am excited for a fun-filled summer!

I tend to have the most fun coaching when the kids in my classes are high energy. I do my best to make sure my students are comfortable when they are learning to swim; I want my students to be as excited about swimming as I am. My favorite skills to teach are flip turns and dives.
I have been a lifeguard for just about 3 years. I have been a lifeguard for the YMCA and Lifetime Fitness. I mainly work as a lifeguard because I am studying to earn a nursing degree and working as a lifeguard allows me to practice some of the skills I will use as a nurse.

Swimming has always been a major part of my life. It all started with a few summer swim lessons, and before I knew it, I was competing as an age-grouper and years later as a collegiate athlete. Over the past 10 years, I’ve taught swim lessons, coached swim teams, and volunteered as a Special Olympics coach. I’ve worked with all ages (toddlers to adults) and love the challenge of meeting my swimmers exactly where they are to create an individually-tailored program that will be productive and FUN. Maybe it’s about water safety, learning the basics, gaining swim skills, building endurance, or fine-tuning stroke technique. I approach swimming – no matter the level – with the intention of inspiring a meaningful impact that will reach all areas of my swimmers’ lives. I intend to evoke a life-long love of the water and swimming through my swim instruction. Swimming is so much more than a sport – I view it as a true gift in my life, and it brings me pure joy to share it with others as a Happy Swimmers Swim Instructor.

Hello, I’ve been actively teaching swim lessons for 4 years and absolutely enjoy each one of my students learning how to swim. There is nothing better than watching my students grow and become confident and comfortable in the water. I love when I establish great relationships with my students. I believe a child learns a lot more when they trust the person that is teaching them especially in the water.I am also big on moving as fast as my student would like me to in our sessions together. Lastly it is important to me that my students understand that I completely respect their space in the water. I look forward to a great summer of wonderful sessions!!!😀
I have been teaching swimming lessons for three years now and I enjoy teaching kids the most because they are sponges. They learn quickly and I find it very rewarding to see a child’s progress. I also like teaching adults because you can rationalize with them when it comes to fear or their corrections. Teaching lessons is enjoyable for me because I know what it’s like to have that fear of the water and I love helping people get over that.
I have been lifeguarding for three summers too and working in different pools has taught me to be aware of surroundings that you would think wouldn’t cause any trouble. I like lifeguarding events because not only am I guarding lives, I also get to see kids having fun and it reminds me of my childhood. One fun fact about me is that I didn’t know how to swim when I joined water polo in high school, I was actually terrified of the water.

I pride myself on the fundamentals of water safety, on all levels of learning. I push the boundaries of comfort for my students at times (just as in any challenging subject of learning) but never force students, or have them do anything that exceeds their own abilities. I am patient dedicated, and have the same level of respect for ALL.

In 2007 I went to live in Spain where I also worked as a swimming instructor in 2012 I went to live in Sardinia, Italy where I worked as a private swimming instructor for three years, I like this job because swimming is the most complete sport, it is also very important to learn to swim by your own security, there is a risk of death by drowning very high in the world, I personally think that all people should know how to swim or know how to be safe in an aquatic environment

Hi, I’m Sydney and I’m currently a sophomore at The University of Texas at Austin. Being by the water is my favorite place to be during the hot summers in Texas. I was a competitive swimmer for 14 years and still enjoy swimming laps in my free time.
For the past five summers, I have been a private and group swim instructor for ages 3 to 20. I have a wide spectrum of experience from children who are afraid to get in the water to competitive swimmers who need stroke instruction.

I think one of the things that make me special is my ability to connect with children and get them involved and happy with being in the water. The part I like most about teaching swim lessons is seeing the face of a child light up when they do something they thought was impossible. That feeling is completely unique, I also love that I’m influencing the kids in a positive way for the rest of their life. I worked as an AVID tutor at the high school and middle school level for 3 years as well! As you can probably tell I really love to teach!

I also was in Boy Scouts till I was 18 and left as an Eagle Scout!

I have 3 years of lifeguard experience.
I started teaching swim lessons when I was 16, since I had just learned how to swim I understand the fear of the water. Not only that but with 4 years of experience now I can confidently say I can teach children how to relax in the water and then take it further from there. I want to be able to build a strong foundation in swimming with anyone I teach, and watch as it blossoms into a hobby or even a passion. A fun fact was that just last summer I two of the seven year old kids I had qualified for TAAF State Championship.
I’m looking to make an impact on the life’s of the people I meet. I want to be able to provide not only a fun but safe environment for everyone this summer. I enjoy the opportunity to be a role model for not only what a lifeguard should be, but what everyone should be in the water. Funny enough I didn’t learn how to swim in till I was 15 and now the water is a second home for me.
I serve the Dallas-Fort Worth communities of Dallas, Forth Worth, Arlington, South lake, and Richardson, among others.
Hello! My names Victoria and I have been teaching kids to swim for over 3 years. Prior to swim instructing I was swimming at the competitive level for over 10 years. I love teaching kids of all ages and my experience ranges from teaching ages 4 months to adults. In my experience the earlier kids start the better, the water is waiting! I love teaching kids both the technical aspects of the strokes and also just helping them get comfortable in the water. Teaching swim lessons is so rewarding to me because I know I’m helping someone learn such an important life skill. A little fun fact about me is that I love to travel the world!
I have also been professionally lifeguarding for over three years! Lifeguarding is one of my absolute favorite jobs because I get to be by the pool, which I love, and also ensure that I’m keeping my fellow swimmers safe. My intention when guarding is to create a safe environment where all swimmers are at ease and having a blast in the pool. I love getting to watch people enjoying the water while knowing they are safe.
I serve the Sacramento communities of Elk Grove, Sacramento, Davis, Roseville, among others.
I been teaching Swim Lesson for around 4 years already using Red Cross guideline techniques. A lot of the times I use my own imagination in order to have fun an an effective learning experience. Some of my background experience touched special children that needed extra help in order to remain confident in water.
Every weekend in one of the pools I’ve been working in weve scheduled event parties with usually families or a group of people (avg. 50) renting the pool. Usually we had to decorate the pool in one specific theme so everyone will have fun. In some cases a lot of kids were involved so we had to be extra prepared.
I serve the Arizona communities of Tucson, Phoenix, Scotsdale, Gilbert, among others.
10 years swim instructor experience. I began swim instructing while working at summer camp working with young kids up through adults attending camps for the blind. Whether they’re a first time swimmer or an advanced swimmer, I love to see people become more comfortable in the water, challenge themselves to improve their skills, and enjoy the freedom and feel of the water.
18 years lifeguarding experience. My lifeguarding career started with summer camp waterfront. Not much can beat helping people of all ages and capabilities safely enjoy the lake activities for the summer. Camp provided a wide range of lifeguard leadership from water ski shows and group water games, to canoeing rivers and kayaking to islands, and to blobs and rope swings. As a result, I lifeguard preventatively so that people can continue to enjoy the activities to the fullest. Waterfront Lifeguarding and Scuba certified.
Areas served: Oahu Island, Ewa Beach, Honolulu, Hawaii Kai, North Shore
My name is Whitney Spears. I have lived in Dallas for two years, but grew up outside of Chicago and in Fairfield County, Connecticut. I have been teaching swimming during the summer on and off for 3 years. When I am not teaching swimming I am in the classroom, volunteering, singing, cooking, performing or working backstage at a play.
Teaching swimming is something that is continually rewarding as I have seen many children gain the confidence to swim on their own. I began teaching swimming out of college and have continued to teach during the summers. I have worked with children ages 3 year through adult. All ages are rewarding in their own way.
Serving: Dallas, Richardson, Allen and Plano
I have 4 years swim instruction experience and 5 years lifeguarding experience.
Over the past four years I have had a lot of experience with teaching lessons. When I first started, I worked as an assistant instructor for several programs with children ranging from ages 3 to 15 with a variety of skill levels. After moving to Washington, DC, I began working at the American University aquatic center where I was eventually promoted to Head Lifeguard of Swim Instructors. In this position, I helped to manage and teach the swim lessons run through AU Recreation and Fitness. The most rewarding part of teaching swim lessons would have to be watching the improvement and excitement of the student grow. My passion is to see a world where everyone can feel safe and have fun in the water!
I started lifeguarding at my community pool the summer before my junior year of high school. Five years have passed and I have worked at a variety of pools and events for communities, families, and high profile clients too. I lifeguard because aquatic safety is a passion of mine and I want to make sure that everyone can have a safe and exciting time at the pool!
I serve the DC metro areas of Washington and Bethesda, among others.

Swim Instructor Bio:
I have been teaching at a swim school for three years. My students ranged in age from 2-15, as well as adults as old as 70. My freshman year in college I was honored to be able to teach adults with both mental and physical disabilities. Some of which had never been in a swimming pool. I really enjoy making a difference in peoples lives and possibly saving lives.
I am American Red Cross certified in lifeguarding, first aid, CPR, and AED, and have been the sole lifeguard on duty for camps as well private parties for four years now. While lifeguarding, my goal is to provide a safe environment that will ensure that people of all ages are able to enjoy their swimming and water experience. Lifeguarding allows me to enjoy and appreciate the outdoors while watching people having fun. A fun fact, I like to collect crystals and watch old classic movies.
Common areas I serve among others: Woodland Hills, Calabasas, Agoura Hills, Westlake, Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Malibu
5 years experience, communities served like Point Loma, La Jolla, Carmel Valley, Del Mar

I absolutely love being anywhere near the pool or the ocean! I am inspired to promote fun in the water with an emphasis on water safety practices. I have a special passion for teaching, as I am currently finishing my credentials to be a kindergarten teacher. Teaching has taught me patience and attentiveness which is an instrumental component of serving my duties as a lifeguard to my best ability.
