WDC/ Maryland/ Virginia Lifeguard for Hire Service

Hi, my name is Ally Malara and this is my first season with Happy Swimmers USA! I just finished my sophomore year at Penn State University, where I swim for their club swim team and study elementary education. I have been a lifeguard for 5 years, and have helped coached our neighbor swim team for 4 years. I also coach Field Hockey.

My name is Ben, I am a fourth year lifeguard from DC. I’m a junior at UNC Chapel Hill and I love watching sports, going to the beach, and hiking with my family. I have been working in aquatics since I was 15, and I love having fun and making memories while lifeguarding.

My name is Damon. I have been lifeguarding since I was 14 and always look forward to the upcoming pool season. I am very good with the kids and make sure they get the most fun out of coming to the pool.

Hi! My name is Elizabeth and i’ve been lifeguarding for 3 years, starting when I was a sophomore in high school. I enjoy lifeguarding simply because I have always had a passion for the water and keeping people safe. I currently am attending the George Washington University in D.C. as a Presidential Academic Scholar. A quick fun fact about me is that i’m a 2nd degree Black Belt Instructor in Taekwondo. I’m so excited to begin working and getting to meet new people!

I grew up on swim teams and am currently row at college, so I love being around water! I’ve been lifeguarding for one full year and am excited to help make your event as safe as possible.

I actually started lifeguarding not too long ago! I’ve had a passion for cooking and music, but water was my first love. Since I was around 8 or 9 ( like most of you), my parents decided to put me on a swim team. I saw how the lifeguards looked super cool holding theres tubes and whistles, doing these weird color changes in tubes, it was amazing! The events that Happy Swimmers has the pleasure of attending remind of my childhood when all our friends and family gathered along to splash it out! Here’s something cool 👀. I know how to cook Chicken Curry, a popular dish from across the world!

Heya! I’ve been a lifeguard prior to Happy Swimmers working for DPR. I like music, chatting, good vibes and hanging out!

I started out lifeguarding as a counselor at Girl Scout camp working with kids k-12. I’ve lifeguarded for community pools, my college pool, waterfront. I enjoy being able to spend time outside while ensuring others are able to have fun safely. A couple fun facts about me, I do Brazilian Jiujitsu and Judo and my absolute favorite color in the world is orange.

I have lifeguarded for 2 summers with American pool. I want to make sure everyone stays safe while enjoying their time in the pool. I like being able to make the pool more enjoyable for guests. I run track and I love to travel.

I’m Kyle, and I like water. Not only have I been scuba diving for three years and lifeguarding the past year, my major at Rice University is Civil Engineering with a focus in hydrology and water resources. As a lifeguard I hope to make events safe and fun, and to ensure that accidents are prevented before they can occur.

Hi I’m Lea and I’ve been guarding for almost a full year. I love being around water and helping people specific pool settings where I can be of most help. I have a competitive swimming background of around seven years, and fun fact, I competed in the Indiana State Competition for 50m breaststroke and the 200m relay where my teammates and I placed 7th in the state for that year! I love that I’m able to confidently assist children and adults with aid during lifeguarding events, and also learn more knowledge at the same time. Super excited to be guarding for Happy Swimmers!

My name is Nate Hughes and this is my second year as a lifeguard! I am entering my third year at George Mason University and I love everything about working at pools.

Hi, my name is Peter Stanton-Shepherd. I am a certified lifeguard with CPR/AED and First Aid credentials through the American Red Cross. A rising junior at Muhlenberg College and a member of the NCAA men’s basketball team, I bring strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills to every aspect of my life. I have lifeguarding experience at Muhlenberg College, Georgetown Aquatics, and Lifetime Fitness, where I also served as a youth swim instructor. My background in athletics and youth mentorship, along with multiple summers of camp leadership, makes me a dependable, safety-focused, and energetic team member ready to contribute to any environment I’m in.

I’ve life guarded for six years, emr/emt certified, work in the security field.

My background is in the legal profession working as a legal secretary for many years. I stopped working to raise two children who are now young adults. My daughter is a teacher in the Portland school district, and my son is an artist who lives on the East coast. For the last twenty-four years, I worked as a Special Education Assistant in the Los Angeles Unified School District. For twenty of those years, I worked with at-risk students and students with special needs at the secondary level. These students resided in a residential facility, and I worked closely not only with the entire school staff but with the social workers and staff at the residential placement. I am excited to be part of the Management Team of Happy Swimmers and look forward to working with you.

Born and raised in NYC I have been swimming since I was 2 years old. I swam competitively all through grade school and high school and loved it! I have been lifeguarding year round (not only summers) for 11 years. When lifeguarding my main priority is swimmer safety while having fun!

I serve the NYC communities of Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Long Island, Westchester, among others.
