I have loved the water since I was able to walk. I have traveled and lived in three countries: China, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates. my time living in these countries has provided me with various teaching opportunities and also exposure to different cultures. Students I had instructed have been from China, the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Korea, and India. The summer of 2013 was when I became interested in teaching swim lessons to learners of all ages. I had previously served on the aquatics team of Lifeline Aquatics, Safeguard Aquatics, the Lancaster Family YMCA, Twin Lakes Family YMCA, Lititz Recreation Center, and Waterloo Swimming. As I worked with these aquatic organizations, my love of teaching swimming to all learners increased.

I look forward to working with you and your family to help you make swimming an enjoyable experience as the summer heat comes upon us.

With 4 years prior experience, and 10 years of swimming experience, I am knowledgeable in swim instructing and all four strokes. I trained very hard to swim competitively and medaled in the Junior Olympics! Some of my past students have gone on to participate in the Iron Man.

I have 5 years of lifeguarding experience and over 10 years of swimming experience and a medal from the Junior Olympics! The best part about lifeguarding events is getting to have fun and meet great people, while keeping everyone safe.

I am WSI certified, have spent years as a competitive swimmer, and love being around the pool deck. I really love teaching people of all skill levels to swim, as it provides me with the opportunity to make a difference in my community and give the gift of a life saving skill.

I am a former competitive swimmer who has spent many years around the pool. I am well trained in CPR and make sure to attend in-service training classes every month in order to refine my skills. Anyone can learn how to swim – and more importantly, everyone should now how to be confidant and safe in the water. I have taught children as young as 2, and adults up to 55, and enjoy working with any range of skill level. I have worked with all sorts of conditions, such as down syndrome, aspergers and ADHD. I believe that your experience with water should be special, safe, and most importantly fun!

Since I was first certified at 15, being a lifeguard has been fun, rewarding, and has played a large role in my professional development. Last summer was my first with Happy Swimmers, and I have enjoyed getting a more personal experience with the neighbors of my community, being warmly welcomed into their homes, and providing them the comfort of safety for themselves and their children. I look forward to continue meeting and serving my community, and supporting events that bring people together.

As a LGI at the Recreational Sports aquatic facility at The University of Texas at Austin, I have worked with many ages and group sizes, all within a pool facility. My favorite part of being a lifeguard instructor is figuring out how to make the class fun, since it is quite a long certification process. If I can get my students to laugh, and remember a skill with a joke, then I know I am doing well!

As a CPR instructor for the Recreational Sports of The University of Texas at Austin, I have taught many college students, as well and full time employees. Kennedy Teel, Lifeguard and Private Swim Instructor

I have 2 years Swim Instruction, Coaching, & lifeguard experience.

As a swim instructor, I teach kids to not only learn how to swim but to love swimming. I want them to be safe in the water and not depend on anyone else to help them. What I enjoy most about teaching anyone how to swim is seeing their progress and seeing them start to really love swimming and enjoy being in water. I love taking a kid who was originally scared and timid in the water and getting them to absolutely love swimming and love coming to swim lessons. Teaching swim lessons is a very fulfilling job and I love feeling like I have an impact on a child’s life. I still remember my swim instructor from when I first learned how to swim and I hope that the kids I teach will remember me and all I teach them. I have taught over 100 people ranging all different age groups, from as young as 6 months old to adults over 50. I was also a part time swim coach for a summer league team and a year-round team. I’m great with teaching freestyle and backstroke and moderate on teaching the harder strokes breaststroke and butterfly. I have also taught some more experienced kids how to do dives and flip turns. I have taken kids from fearing the water to swimming all the way across a 25-meter pool with no help.

My Swim Instructor Bio: Hello I’ve been actively teaching swim lessons for six years and enjoy this more than any other profession I’ve ever been involved in. There is nothing better than doing what you love for a living and being able to teach and share it with others. I get to teach a child; learn life long skills that last a life time, as well as safety and the joy of the water. I’m always amazed at how students learn so much in a short period of time. It also fun to watch them, “Strut Their Stuff” when they become confident at what they have learned. I started swimming at age 3 and have never enjoyed anything more than the water. I have been a competitive swimmer, PADI diver and Coast Guard Auxiliary member for many years.

I am also Manager of Swim Instructors in All Areas except California–AZ,TX, DC, and NY. Contact me through the website contact form, for anything swim instructor related once swim lessons have begun with your instructor.

Summer Scott, Lifeguard, Swim Instructor & Photography Enthusiast

I have worked as a swim instructor for 3 years and it is one of the most fun jobs that I have had. I love helping children gain confidence in the pool. It is one of the most rewarding feeling in the world to watch a child progress in their swimming ability. I love working with older children between ages 5-12. I have experience working with young children and have been told that I have a talent working with scared children in this age group. I also have experience working with adults of all swimming ability. I am currently a master instructor for Lifetime Fitness.

I have been a Lifeguard for 6 years, three of those years I worked as a waterfront lifeguard at a camp in Austin, Tx. The last 3 years I have worked for Lifetime Fitness in San Antonio as an Aquatics Supervisor in this role I help run swim programming and lifeguard management. As a lifeguard my number one priority is keeping everyone safe and stopping disasters before they happen. I am a fitness enthusiast and I am currently in the hiring process for the San Antonio Fire Department.

Sydney, Private Swim Instructor & Lifeguard

Austin

Hi future happy Swimmers! I’m Sydney, a recent Texas ex from the university of Texas at Austin and would love to be your coach. I was a competitive swimmer for 14 years, receiving countless swim lessons during that time from swim instructors who I really admired. I still enjoy swimming laps in my free time as well. Being by the water is my favorite place to be during the hot summers in Texas. For the past nine summers, I have been a private and group swim instructor for ages 3 to 20. I have a wide spectrum of experience teaching children who are afraid to get in the water, competitive swimmers who need stroke instruction, and many kiddos in between.
I think it is so important to build trust with who I’m teaching, allowing them to progress into confident swimmers. I believe encouragement goes a long way and try to make the learning process as enjoyable as swimming is to me!

For more than five summers, I’ve lifeguarded at a city pool and for private events. When life guarding, I work to maintain a fun and safe environment for everyone inside and around the pool.
Because I am constantly scanning the pool and assessing the swimmers abilities, I saved lives each summer that I was working and prevented more accidents by enforcing the rules of the pool as well as general pool safety procedures. Last summer I was head life guard for our staff before retiring from my hometown pool. I take pride in my job and strive to continue to be a dependable life guard.

I serve the Austin communities of Austin, Pflugerville, Round Rock, among others.
