Houston Swim Lessons

Private Swim Lessons

Happy Swimmers started teaching at-home swim lessons in 1991 in Los Angeles, with 22 clients. In 1993 we began serving Phoenix. In 2009 we opened in Austin, and this is our second summer in Houston, with hundreds of kids learning each summer. We are the most seasoned mobile swim lesson company serving the Houston Metro area. Our staff average 13 years swimming lesson teaching.
This region is home to many fine swim schools and city programs, so why do we offer swimming lessons? Some kids do well in boisterous social large group swim lessons, but many kids do not, and prefer a quiet, trusting setting of their own home pool and a dedicated, kind-hearted, patient instructor. We specialize in the latter style of teaching.

Where do we serve in Houston metro?:

Happyswimmers.com provides swim lessons and lifeguarding to Houston and the surrounding metro areas. We are familiar with areas both inside and outside of loop 610, beltway 8, and are excited to use the recently opened section of 99 (aka JJ Watt highway).

Happyswimmers.com staff members would love to come provide swim lessons and lifeguarding services for you in the comfort of your backyard pool.

Whether you live in the heart of Houston or in one of the surrounding communities our great weather provides a lengthy aquatic season. Sugarland, The Woodlands, Friendswood, Spring, Cypress, Pearland, and Clearlake are included in our service area. Let’s keep swimming!

• If you enroll in April or May, getting your lesson preferences are usually no problem
• If you enroll in June, please do so as early in the month as possible, and have some greater flexibility of times and days that would work.
• If you enroll in July, please be flexible on your times, and/or know that some early season clients will finish and open up time slots for you to take. Ask our office.

Can we serve your area? If you’re in the Houston Metro area, it will be our pleasure to serve you!

Here’s a recent testimonial from a mom in Sugar Land:
I enrolled my 2 1/2 year old daughter in private swimming lessons through Happy Swimmers USA with instructor Krysta Meyer. We have been taking the lessons for 2 months and my 2 1/2 year old can jump in the swimming pool on her own, swim and float on her back for the entire length of the pool (30 feet) to the side without any assistance. My husband and I are amazed at her progress and have been very impressed with her instructor, Krysta. I highly recommend this program for every child learning how to swim.

Swimming Lesson Tip:

Floaties – These devices actually delay a child’s progress for proper swimming. Though parents use these with good intentions, the problem lies in that floaties are designed to keep the child vertical in the water, and a bent leg kick is then developed to navigate around the pool. When floaties are taken off, the child instinctively tries to kick the same way, and this kick forces her down under water and even greater fear sets in. Children who’ve not used floaties tend to learn about two to three times faster than the floaties kids. Not surprisingly this disclaimer is never found on the carton of floaties at the store.

Harry Sale, Private Swim Instructor

Houston

I learned to swim when I was three years old, and joined competitive swimming when I was five. Fifteen years later, I am now a member of the Florida Institute of Technology University Swim Team going into my junior year. I’ve been teaching swim lessons for three years and absolutely love it. There’s no greater feeling than exposing a new swimmer to the joys of the sport and ability I’ve loved my entire life, and helping someone progress towards water safety and proficiency. I can teach basic water safety all the way up to advanced skills and fine tuning, and just love watching swimmers progress in the activity!

Whit Saunders, Swim Instructor and Lifeguard, Soccer playing and gourmet chef

Houston

My swim instructing background is being an assistant coach for my neighborhood swim team where I ran practices and meets working on kids technique. More recently I’ve taught lessons at an indoor pool, and worked with a wider range of ages. My specialties include teaching flutter kicks and breast stroke arms. What I like most about teaching lessons is seeing retained development in the kids swimming, a fun fact is I’ve been swimming since i was 4.

My lifeguarding background is mostly at neighborhood pools on a 2 guard system. More recently I’ve worked a 3 guard system at an indoor pool. My intention while guarding is to ensure all patron safety. What I like most about lifeguarding events is the people you meet, and a fun fact about me is I have two other triplet siblings.
