Orange County (OC) Swim Lessons

Private Swim Lessons

Happy Swimmers started teaching at-home swim lessons in Southern California and began serving Orange County in 1995. Over the years, our client list has grown to over 400 per year, with thousands of OC children happily swimming.
Do we serve your Orange County area for private swimming lessons? The short answer – most likely.

The cities we serve in Orange County (OC) for swim lessons include:

Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa, Irvine, Newport Beach, Laguna, San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point, Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, Tustin, Orange, Anaheim, Garden Grove, Fullerton, Yorba Linda, La Habra, La Habra Heights, Hacienda Heights, Whittier, and by special request Long Beach.
If I’ve missed your city, please ask.

Swim Lesson Tip:

Keep your pool temperature warm for lessons. 86 degrees minimum, is 90-94 ideal so your children don’t spend all their energy trying to keep warm. A pool feels about 20 degrees cooler than air temperature to a child and a 90 degree pool is like 70 degree air. Even though Southern California can get hot in the summer, you need to maintain a heated pool for the in home swim lessons. The focus should be on learning to swim well, and shivering and blue lips make for less effective learning.

We want all our swimming students to have an optimum environment for learning, and need your help to give them the best lessons possible. We look forward to teaching this lifelong skill and are happy to answer as many questions as you have about the swim instruction process.

General Areas I serve:Anaheim, Santa Ana, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach

In my ten years as a swim instructor I have taught swim lessons to children of all ages, adults learning to swim for the first time, and adults taking lessons to improve technique. I have experience with students with special needs, stroke work, and water polo. My favorite part of teaching swim lessons is seeing my swimmers become more confident in the water and their abilities. I was a competitive swimmer for twelve years and played Water Polo through High School. I speak French, and I am Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certified.

My favorite thing about Event Lifeguarding is the opportunity to be a part of your special day! I have ten years of lifeguard experience including open water, summer camp, water park, and poolside. I am also a swim instructor and have many years of experience working with children.

Jason Sanchez, Lifeguard, Swim Instructor & Swimaholic

I taught and swam all levels. From novice to competitive swimming, toddler to high school, adults and children. I enjoy seeing the look of accomplishment of everyone once they see progression. I like to think I have an eye for swimming and showing how to get the most effective swim with the least amount of effort.

See you at the pool!

I was a competitive swimmer and water polo player for over 10 years. I’ve taught swim instruction to swimmers ages two to eighteen. I even dabbled on the dive team for a bit, but found that swimming and water polo were my true passions. Being in the pool is my HAPPY place! Fun fact- my freestyle relay team broke a school record at the 2004 Sunset League Championship

Megan, Swim Instructor

Ladera Ranch, 10 years experience!

Swimming has always been a major part of my life. It all started with a few summer swim lessons, and before I knew it, I was competing as an age-grouper and years later as a collegiate athlete. Over the past 10 years, I’ve taught swim lessons, coached swim teams, and volunteered as a Special Olympics coach. I’ve worked with all ages (toddlers to adults) and love the challenge of meeting my swimmers exactly where they are to create an individually-tailored program that will be productive and FUN. Maybe it’s about water safety, learning the basics, gaining swim skills, building endurance, or fine-tuning stroke technique. I approach swimming – no matter the level – with the intention of inspiring a meaningful impact that will reach all areas of my swimmers’ lives. I intend to evoke a life-long love of the water and swimming through my swim instruction. Swimming is so much more than a sport – I view it as a true gift in my life, and it brings me pure joy to share it with others as a Happy Swimmers Swim Instructor.

Mo, Private Swim Instructor

Los Angeles/ Orange County

Hello, I’ve been actively teaching swim lessons for 4 years and absolutely enjoy each one of my students learning how to swim. There is nothing better than watching my students grow and become confident and comfortable in the water. I love when I establish great relationships with my students. I believe a child learns a lot more when they trust the person that is teaching them especially in the water.I am also big on moving as fast as my student would like me to in our sessions together. Lastly it is important to me that my students understand that I completely respect their space in the water. I look forward to a great summer of wonderful sessions!!!😀

I played water polo and did swim competitively for 4 years and have been coaching and teaching for 5 years. I have taught ages 2-17 and I take pride in my clients comfortability in the water after our lessons, I also have experience teaching students with special needs.
