Staff

All staff are Red Cross certified Lifeguards with an average experience of 7 years, many at high volume locations. These are pros, not charming but inexperienced high schoolers. We are the largest private lifeguard service in the country,

Why hire us over another lifeguard company or even the kid down the street in Baltimore to DC?

We do a thorough evaluation and interview for all of our Baltimore to DC Lifeguard for hire staff. We also are one of the only Baltimore to DC Lifeguard for Hire companies that protects you with our insurance for PROFESSIONAL as well as general liability insurance and workers comp insurance.  Most lifeguard companies carry the minimum general liability (slips and falls) but they don’t carry the more specific professional liability coverage nor workers comp.

Most importantly, if an accident happens no matter who’s at fault, you want your guard(s) properly insured for your protection.  Similarly, would you drive a car without car insurance or go to a doctor who you found didn’t carry malpractice insurance?  Above all, we cover you and your event, so you can enjoy the party.

Additionally, almost all freelancers are completely uninsured. Who checks their criminal backgrounds and lifeguard certification status? Our staff is professionally checked for this. We hire the cream of the crop with the best experience, and again, with us, you have a team of managers and a company to back you up if someone flakes.

Jaee Gilmore, Event Lifeguard

Baltimore, Rosedale, Woodlawn, Yorktown

I actually started lifeguarding not too long ago! I’ve had a passion for cooking and music, but water was my first love. Since I was around 8 or 9 ( like most of you), my parents decided to put me on a swim team. I saw how the lifeguards looked super cool holding theres tubes and whistles, doing these weird color changes in tubes, it was amazing! The events that Happy Swimmers has the pleasure of attending remind of my childhood when all our friends and family gathered along to splash it out! Here’s something cool 👀. I know how to cook Chicken Curry, a popular dish from across the world!

Sarah Isela, Lifeguard for Hire, Wellness Coach & Hiking fanatic

Crownsville

Hi, my name is Sarah Isela! There is a quote about lifeguards that says, “A lifeguard is like a storm shelter, you may never need it, but if you do it can be a lifesaver.” During my seven years of lifeguarding, I have been the storm shelter and lifesaver to countless people. My 7 year lifeguarding career began in 2013, when I received my American Red Cross Lifeguard certification. Since then, I have gained an incredible amount of experience lifeguarding every year: 2013-2015 at an indoor aquatic center (North Arundel Aquatic Center), 2015-2018 as the beach “Baywatch” of Sandy Point State Park, and 2018-present as a private event lifeguard with Happy Swimmers USA. When I lifeguard, I work to the best of my ability to ensure the safety of everyone. If the time comes that I must become your “lifesaver,” you are in good hands. I have handled over 100 water assists, as well as four serious water rescues over the past five years. I have even received the Superintendent’s Award from the Natural Resources Police (NRP) for assisting in a water rescue of 5 people from a jet skiing accident in the Chesapeake Bay. This is my third year lifeguarding for events, and I look forward to working with you to ensure the safety of all your swimmers!

Stephanie, East Coast Lifeguard Assignment Manager and Pack of Jac’s mom

My background is in the legal profession working as a legal secretary for many years. I stopped working to raise two children who are now young adults. My daughter is a teacher in the Portland school district, and my son is an artist who lives on the East coast. For the last twenty-four years, I worked as a Special Education Assistant in the Los Angeles Unified School District. For twenty of those years, I worked with at-risk students and students with special needs at the secondary level. These students resided in a residential facility, and I worked closely not only with the entire school staff but with the social workers and staff at the residential placement. I am excited to be part of the Management Team of Happy Swimmers and look forward to working with you.
