Red Cross CPR Instructor Course

Become a certified American Red Cross Instructor and gain the knowledge and skills needed to teach lifesaving Adult, Child, and Infant CPR, AED, and First Aid courses. This instructor certification program prepares candidates to confidently deliver Red Cross courses using the latest instructional methods, evaluate student performance, and conduct hands-on skills training in accordance with American Red Cross standards.

Throughout the CPR Instructor Course, instructor candidates will learn:

  • How to effectively teach Adult, Child, and Infant CPR and AED
  • First Aid assessment and treatment instruction
  • Classroom management and presentation techniques
  • Hands-on skills coaching and evaluation
  • Proper use of Red Cross course materials and digital resources
  • How to administer written and practical skill assessments
  • Instructor responsibilities, policies, and certification procedures

Upon successful completion of the CPR Instructor Course, participants will earn a 2-year American Red Cross Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Certification, authorizing them to teach and certify students through an American Red Cross Licensed Training Provider.

Prerequisites:

  • Be at least 16 years of age.
  • Hold a current American Red Cross Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification (or an equivalent accepted certification). This is considered a student based certification and is a prerequisite to taking the instructor course. 
  • Successfully complete any required online pre-course assignments before the instructor course. 
  • Pre online work must be completed before attending the in person course. 

Course Length: 

Format: CPR Instructor Course Blended Learning

  • Online Pre-Course: 2–3 hours (self-paced)
  • In-Person Instructor Training: 7–8 hours

Lunch Break 30 min-1hr

  • Total Course Time: Approximately 10 hours.
