Happy Swimmers has Swim Instructor Positions Available

We provide great opportunities for Swim Instructors. All our staff is highly paid; starting at $40-60 per hour depending on experience. Additionally, we provide flexible scheduling; you only choose the days and hours you want to work. This makes it easy for you to juggle your other commitments and make some great extra money. Swim Instructor Schedules

Swim Instructors are generally needed weekdays between 2-6pm and weekends, though hours vary based on needs of clients. Staff can take as many or as little swim lessons as fit their schedule. You are only held to it once you commit to the lessons.

How To Become a Swim Instructor

First, fill out the Swim Instructor job application we have many open positions and it only takes a few minutes. Second, we will reach out to you for an interview. Next, once you pass the interview, you will get all of your onboarding paperwork. Finally, you will set your schedule on Marketbox and can begin ASAP.

Swim Instructor Position Requirements 
  • Must have one year of swim lesson experience or equivalent (Do you need experience or a certification? You can take our online course now!)
  • Must be great with kids
  • At least 18 years old OR have at least one year of lifeguarding experience
  • Must consistently check emails to accept swim lessons
  • Must keep up with availability online
  • Eligible to work in the US
  • Pass a background check (except NY)
  • Finally, you must have dependable transportation (you will be going to different locations for lessons)

The instructor, Emma, had to contend with 2 very different personalities along with 2 different levels of swimming experience. We have three kids ages 7, 4, and 2 & 1/2. This was our second year having Happy Swimmers, with instructor Trisha Commons, come teach our kids (the two oldest) to swim. I tried another company the year before I tried Happy Swimmers and although the kids learned swim safety, they were bored and did not learn how to enjoy the pool. Trisha got our son, who did not really like swimming, having fun and by the end of last year could swim the entire length of the pool on his own.

Trisha is great with the kids and is flexible in her teaching style to work with different personalities. She is able to get the kids confident in their abilities and teaches them how to swim, but also teaches them how to have fun! I will definitely be asking Happy Swimmers and Trisha to teach the kids again next year.

I have a toddler and a pool and wanted to make sure my son learned water safety. After taking some group classes last summer, I knew I wanted more one-on-one attention at our home. This summer I reviewed several in-home companies and was impressed with Happy Swimmers approach of water safety.

Trish worked with my stubborn 2-yr old 2-3 times a week. Within the first lesson he knew how to climb out of the pool and to ask permission before getting in. Although our goal was to get him water comfortable more than “swimming”, he indeed learned to swim within a few weeks. We extended our lessons and really appreciated Trish’s approach. We will sign up again next summer. Many of our friends with children happened to be present on several lessons and I expect they will also sign up next summer as well.

Hired a happy swimmers for private life guard for a party for over 200 people at my house. The lifeguard was great. She called to confirm before, came on time, and stayed later then we originally signed up because the party went over.
