Hi, I’m Ara. I’ve been life guarding for about a year now. Ever since I received my guarding certificate, I joined the UCLA recreation center, and have been life guarding there ever since. Aside from life guarding, I’ve always wanted to teach kids how to swim, for that reason I’ve been enrolled in the WSI class, and will be getting my certificate in about a month. To me, the most important part of life guarding is for swimmers to have a great time in the pool. And to that, I’ll be there to keep things safe. My first ever rescue was when I was seven, I managed to lift my two year old sister from under water 🙂 Way to go Ara!

For the last 5 years I have been a professional lifeguard and athlete in the US Lifeguard Association. My Favorite aspect of teaching, is to help others acquire new skills. I love being active.
Welcome Chandler, we’re happy to have you!
I have been a Swim Instructor for almost 2 years. My students range from toddlers to competitive swimmers and adults. I teach comfort in the water, basic swimming, freestyle, backstroke, elementary backstroke, sidestroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. Therefore, I will be working on my degree in Kinesiology at USC. On the other hand, I also love seeing kids smile and progress in the water. It gives me tears when kids give me a hug especially parents that I did an excellent job!.
I’ve had students that I started teaching at 6 months old, and I’ve got to see them grow over the years which is beyond rewarding. Knowing that I taught them something that they’ll keep forever is really satisfying. I’ll never get tired of the bonds I make with students and their parents, too.
A fun fact about me! people love to build a strong bond around me because I am such a charismatic person!
I have been a lifeguard for 5 years now, I love the water a job that’s always near the water and it has been a big passion for me!.
A fun fact about me: I can be a very funny person when I am off duty!

I enjoy being a lifeguard because growing up I have always loved the water and I want others to experience that same joy. Everyone should be able to have fun and be safe while swimming. I have swum since I was a baby, but have competitively swum for 11 years and I also play water polo. Chelsea is lining up to become a great Lifeguard Instructor too. 🙂
I grew up as a swimmer and water polo player in Orange County, and am extremely comfortable in the water. Throughout my years in aquatics, I have had the privilege of interacting with excellent and professional lifeguards. I look forward to providing the same safety and security to others so that everyone has a great time in the water!

Swim Instructor Bio:
Teaching swim lessons is rewarding because you are essentially saving a kid’s life by teaching them how to be safe in and around the water. Nothing is better than seeing a child progress over a short amount of time from being a non-swimmer to a proficient swimmer. I have 12+ years of competitive swimming underneath my belt and have many tools to work with children of all ages and abilities to teach them how to become better swimmers themselves. In my spare time I like to go to the beach and surf, because I can’t stay away from water!
I have been lifeguarding for the past 4 years at many different locations throughout the Orange County area, and for the college that I attend. My experiences as a lifeguard and a collegiate swimmer have taught me to notice which kids are strong swimmers and which kids are not, that way I am able to keep a closer watch on those that are not as strong of swimmers. While lifeguarding I remain focused and on high alert at all times to be ready for anything. I have experience lifeguarding busy public pools and watching kids of all ages.
Common areas I serve: La Palma, Cerritos, Cypress, Lakewood, Long Beach, Los Alamitos, Buena Park, Anaheim areas

Event Lifeguard Bio: From my first big swim in the Pacific, and subsequent pummeling from an unexpected wave, I have loved lifeguards. I became a Jr. Lifeguard at age 7 after my unfortunate tossing in the white water, and began to understand the importance of water safety. The foundational learning of this program gave me the passion for ocean and pool awareness I have today. During my formative years, I began to play water polo and lifeguard after practice for our school’s younger swimmers. I continued to play competitively in college and became a Jr. Guard Instructor as well as an Ocean Lifeguard. My love of the water has stayed with me even when I became a Zookeeper after earning my bachelor’s, where I swam for exercise. The observational skills and preventative efforts I practiced daily when caring for Orangutans and Harbor Seals helped maintain my lifeguarding prowess. When I became a researcher of Orangutans in Indonesia and began my graduate schooling, I knew event lifeguarding would be a great way to support my education while honing my observational techniques. Scanning the trees for primate behaviors is perfect practice for scanning the water area for potentially distressed swimmers and vice versa. I love all primates, humans included, and I will work hard to keep all of them safe and happy- inside the water and out!
Advanced certifications: Open Water Lifeguard Experience, Scuba cert
Swim Instructor Bio:
15+ years experience teaching swimming! Christina generally serves Santa Monica and the Westside, from the Ocean to West Hollywood Hills.
She says: The moment I see swimming “click” in a student, I feel a wave of happiness- their giant smile glowing, where once a timid or nervous excitement challenged their own self-confidence. I have seen hundreds of these smiles, from young ones to golden aged students, and it never fails to fill me with a sense of purpose.
I try to apply all my years of teaching swimmers to each and every new student’s learning abilities. What may work for one does not always transfer. When I was a zookeeper, I learned that positive reinforcement is the best and least stressful way to teach even the most stubborn tiger or sea lion to accept medical treatments, and swim beautifully (even the tiger!). Hopefully, none of my human trainees will be as tough, but I am up for the challenge!
As a Master’s student in Anthropology, I have learned to apply my observational skills to the pool too. Knowing how a student can adapt to the new challenge of swimming is not unlike understanding how different cultures learn to adapt to societies’ challenges.
I plan to use all my various experiences from Jr. Lifeguard instructor, Beach Lifeguard, Zookeeper, and Grad school to influence the unique and focused attention I will give while teaching a new swimmer.
Everyone deserves the ability to enjoy swimming and feel confident too. I can’t wait to welcome others into the water 🙂

I have been instructing swim lessons and lifeguarding for 4 years. I learned how to swim very young in Hawaii and continued swimming all the way until college when I received my lifeguard certification. I was fortunate enough to become an Eagle Scout and teach swimming in the Boy Scouts of America. After joining the Marine Corps I completed my certification for Marine Corps Instructor of Water Survival which is my current occupation. Within the Marine Corps I have been extensively trained in many different water survival and swimming techniques. I enjoy the outdoors and the I feel as though the beach is my second home. The thing I like most about teaching swim lessons and lifeguarding is knowing that I am teaching a skill to others that will potentially save their life one day.

4 years experience, serving DFW communities likeArlington, Fort Worth, Mansfield, Southlake
I’ve been life guarding in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for 4 years now. I’m certified to guard in shallow water, deep water, and water park settings. I’m also certified in CPR, AED, and first aid. I began working for the city of Arlington at a water park and since have guarded at various public pools, neighborhood pools, and private swim parties. I love the outdoors, swimming, and kids so life guarding is the perfect summer job for me. I’m currently attending school at The University of Mississippi; however, I look forward to my summers life guarding each year. I made some of my favorite childhood memories in the pool, so I hope to help other kids make memories of their own. Although safety is my first priority, I also strive to create a fun and happy environment at each pool I guard at!
I have been a swim instructor for 6 years and love teaching children how to swim . The best part of teaching swim lessons is seeing the progression of my students. There is nothing more satisfying than when a student understands how a certain swim stroke is swam!
I have also been a lifeguard for 6 years, and before I could work professionally I was a junior guard for 3 years. I always wanted to be a lifeguard ever since I was 11 and started swim team and would see the lifeguards up on the stands. The best part about lifeguarding is providing a fun, but safe swimming environment for others to enjoy. Fun Fact: I am going to school to be a music teacher and I currently can play 10 different instruments!
I serve the Sacramento communities of Roseville, West Sacramento, Carmichael, among others.
I have a current WSI certification
My name is Clint, and i’m a current student at UT Austin with home roots down in San Antonio. I’m an active outdoors type and go rock climbing, cave spelunking, and swimming as much as possible! In any sport I do or watch over, I take safety very seriously and strive to be the person you can rely on in any emergency situation.
I have been working with large groups of kids in numerous environments for over 4 years now, and have been working as a Lifeguard almost every day this summer too. I have been actively practicing First Aid in emergency situations for over 2 years, and I look forward to providing you peace of mind while i’m watching over the pool.
Although my number one goal is to watch over any swimmers and enforce all safety rules, I also want everybody to have as much fun as possible this summer! I’d love to talk more in person and get to know each of my clients, but my attention will always be on the pool when people are swimming. I take my job very seriously and want to apologize in advance if I am not as conversational when I am actively lifeguarding.
With that being said, I look forward to meeting and helping you enjoy many beautiful sunny days in the pool!
Hi, I’m Coco! I have been a swim instructor for a few years now, but have been working with kids for most of my life. It all started in Girl Scouts when I got to host my first event. I loved the energy the kids brought to the table, and from that moment, I knew I had to work with them. Experience in Girl Scouts helped me become a babysitter/nanny and camp counselor, and has eventually led me to teaching swim. Being a swim instructor seemed natural for me because I swam competitively in high school and love being in the water, as well as working with people. My favorite part about teaching swim is watching the child progress. The pride and excitement in their eyes when they finally master a skill they had been struggling with is priceless :~). A fun fact about me is that my favorite animal is the polar bear and I could talk your ear off for hours about why they’re so fascinating!
I became a lifeguard in high school and am now in my second year of college. I wanted to be lifeguard because I love swimming so much that didn’t want to be away from the pool while I was out of the water! I am also very concerned with safety ever since I took my very first CPR class with my Girl Scout troop. The instructor inspired me to continue on in my safety education and become AED and First Aid certified, and then eventually become a lifeguard and get my emergency oxygen distribution and blood borne pathogens certifications. I believe that people should have only good experiences in the water, and want to do everything I can to make that happen. I hope that everyone is able to enjoy the pool regardless of their skill level, and always feel safe in the water. A fun fact about me is that I love rock climbing!
I serve the OC, Inland Empire, and San Diego communities of Temecula, Murrieta, Menifee, and Orange, among others.
4 years experience! Serving communities like San Diego, Vista, Ramona, Oceanside, El Cajon
I am a San Diego native and in the water and sunshine is where I feel at home. I played on both the water polo and swim team all four years of high school and have always considered a job in the emergency medical field. I have been life guarding for four years and loving every minute. I take the job seriously and focus on maintaining a safe and fun environment. I am also pursuing a career as a San Diego beach life guard or fire fighter. EMT certified.
I’ve enjoyed swimming long distances for a few years now, so I then figured, “why not use my skills to help others?” Shortly after, I decided to become a lifeguard! I’ve passed the certification course twice and have had experience guarding adults, children, and infants both at outdoor leisure pools and an indoor natatorium. I’ve even assisted non-swimmers at the beach! I swim a few kilometers a week and attend monthly lifeguard training. Needless to say, pool party hosts can rest easy while I make sure that everyone is safe while having lots of fun!

Hi, I’m Dallas. I have been teaching swimming lessons consistently since February of 2017. I teach a wide range of levels from beginning pre-school ages all the way to higher teenage levels. I work patiently and effectively with each child, giving each child equal time to work on techniques as well as making time for fun but educational activities. I find instructing an incredibly rewarding experience that allows me to pass on a skill to a child that they will use for the rest of their lives. I am a fully trained lifeguard with certifications in CPR, First Aid, and AED.
I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1995. When I was 2 years old, my family moved to Southern Utah, near Zion National Park. I grew up spending most of my time outdoors rock climbing, hiking, camping, canyoneering, and most of all swimming during the long and hot summers experienced there. After graduating from high school, I moved to Seattle, Washington where I attended Highline College. There in Seattle, I experienced great music, incredible scenery, and made many amazing friends. Through my college, I was presented with the opportunity to become a lifeguard and a swim instructor. I found a true interest and love in the profession, building strong connections with fellow co-workers, regular patrons, as well as the children I taught. This summer (2017) I was given the unique opportunity to live in Hollywood, California. Here I aim to build more strong connections and increase my increase my experience within the aquatic community.
I serve the Greater Seattle area.
Region: South Florida, FL
14 years experience as a lifeguard! General areas I serve: Los Angeles, Pasadena, Bel Air, Westwood
I swam and played water polo for 12 years. I competed and won national tournaments in both sports. I swam and played for the Commerce Club Team and played and swam in Bell Gardens High School. Every year since I graduated I have worked as a life guard either full or part time. I have been around water since I was 8 years young and I know the worry that parents have over having someone professional looking after their kids that they can trust. I take my job very seriously and enjoy giving parents a day off where they can enjoy themselves knowing that a professional is taking care of their kids.
–Thank you Daniel for being such a pro! We love you!
Swim Instructor role: Growing up in the West Valley with a backyard pool, I learned to swim at a young age and got into water polo during high school and college. Water sports like surfing and sailing are hobbies of mine and I first started teaching private swim lessons shortly after I started my teaching career at Hoover High School in 1996. I still currently teach Health and PE while also serving in my Coast Guard reserve unit in San Pedro as a First Class Marine Science Technician. My son in grade school has been competing for two years on a swim team and loves it. All kids should have that opportunity.
Event Lifeguard role: Aside from the last two years working for Happy Swimmers, friends and family would ask me to act as a life guard for pool parties and functions when I became Red Cross certified for water safety and CPR. A good life guard takes preventative measures to mitigate potential hazards by identifying them early before the function begins. Done properly, pool saves are few and quick. I love the anticipation of potential challenges that each venue may pose and being a part of a random family”s fun safe memories they will have.
I just had my first day on the job. Loved it. I like being able to ensure the children’s safety and gain experience as a lifeguard.
I serve the SF Bay Area communities of San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Fremont, among others.
I just recently started swim instructing about half a year go and have loved every moment. The satisfaction the children get when they have learned a stroke or how to improve it is pure bliss. I feel amazing knowing my job is done when parents come up to me informing me what their child has done at their own pool. Ensuring safety is also a big role in this job and teaching children how to swim makes that so much better.
I have been Lifeguarding for two years now and have loved every moment of it. Maintaining a happy and positive attitude while ensuring safety plays a big role when Lifeguarding, enjoying the job just makes it that much better. Making both the parents and children happy and safe are very important to me.
I serve the San Diego communities of Carlsbad, Oceanside, Vista, San Marcos, among others.
My name is Delaney Jacobs and I have been a lifeguard for five years and throughout the past two years, I have been the manager of two different pools. I maintain my lifeguarding skills year-round by also guarding at various indoor pools. My favorite part about being a lifeguard is being able to interact with all the different neighborhood kids that come to the pool just to have a great time. Summer is my favorite season and I could not think of a better way to spend my summers than outside at a pool.
I serve the Washington DC areas of Gaithersburg, Potomac, Bethesda, Frederick, among others.
3 years lifeguarding and swim teaching experience. Diana serves communities including Orlando, Winter Park, Oviedo, Kissimmee
I have been swimming practically my entire life. With a lifetime of swimming experience and involvement in teaching nearly all levels of swimmers, from children to adults, I have acquired the skills to ensure everyone has fun in a safe water environment. When it comes to lifeguarding, I constantly have the goal in mind of valuing the lives of every swimmer in front of me as if it were my own. I know I am providing a great service and that is what will drive me to always keep my skills “test-ready” and alert for any possible emergency. I like to be firm but kind while guarding a scene.
I have been lifeguarding and keeping kids safe around pools for 12 years. I have worked at public pools as well as a private swim club. I look forward to lifeguarding your party or event!
I’m a substitute teacher during the school year and have taught all levels of swimming for over 10 years. I coach a high school swim team as well as Masters. I swim competitively at meets and open water events. I love teaching kids how to swim and sharing my passion for the water.

From my love of the water sprang a lifeguarding job when I was sixteen years old. I started working at Golfland Sunsplash and loved every minute of it. I enjoyed watching the water, ensuring people were following the rules and being safe, and stepping in when emergencies did arise. Over the years at Golfland Sunsplash, I saved a number of people and always felt grateful to have a job being around a place that I loved so much. My love for water shows in the way that I interact with guests because I want them to have as enjoyable of an experience as I do being around it and in it when I’m scuba diving. I hope to work your event because I believe in not only keeping you and your guests safe but also being upbeat while doing so. To leave off, a fun fact about me is that I have scuba dived in Okinawa, Japan and also Monterey Bay. I hope to someday scuba dive in Antarctica.
5 years of lifeguard experience!
After half a decade of lifeguarding, I’ve found that the best thing about showing up to the job is the people I meet there. When I get to know you, it helps me better keep you safe and happy, because when you’re happy, I’m happy 😛

Hi I’m Emily and I’m a neuroscience major at Tulane University in New Orleans. During the summers I live on Long Island. I am a certified EMT in New York State. My goal is to go to medical school after I graduate.
I love to swim, it’s one of my favorite things to do ever since I was a baby. My mother even calls me a fish! I love being a lifeguard and watching people swim and making sure they stay safe. I was a Senior in high school when I decided to get my lifeguard certification, taught by Happy Swimmers trainer of course! Lifeguarding is something I decided to pursue after I had been teaching swim lessons at my local YMCA for a year. I have worked for two YMCAs (one in San Jose and one in San Diego) before I decided to take up Happy Swimmers’ Lifeguarding events too.
Happy Swimmers is a great company to work for, especially when it attracts such great families who are always so friendly and inviting. I think this job has really improved my people skills, just from having to meet so many people out of the blue! (thanks Eric! we have great clients and great staff… owner Jenn)
I got my lifeguard certification in high school and started working at a summer camp in Yosemite called Camp Mather during the 10 week summers of 2015 and 2016. There I got tons of experience guarding both the lake and the pool at camp 6 days a week. I’ve loved all my time lifeguarding and am very excited to further continue my experience!
I serve the Greater New Orleans area during the school year, and when home in early Summer, the SF Bay Area locations of San Francisco, Penninsula, East Bay, North Bay, among others.
I love to lifeguard because I know I can make the pool a safer place. When I am swimming I appreciate the lifeguards looking out for me and I want to do the same, keeping a close watch on swimmers and communicating with them. Fun fact: I was on a Lifeguard swim team in Germany called DLRG where lifeguards practice together and also take fun trips and trainings together.
I serve the SF Bay Area communities of Cupertino, Santa Clara, San Jose, Sunnyvale, among others.

I have guarded numerous pools ranging from NYC indoor pools that are 25 meters long to private pools in Downtown, Jersey City. My top priority is always the safety of the patrons inside and outside of the pool. I love when kids have fun in the pool and the parents don’t have to worry about any incidents happening because summer should be worry free for both kids and parents! Being a lifeguard means a lot to me. I take much pride in my work and will ensure a safe and fun summer for everyone no matter where I guard!
I serve the NYC Tri-State Area communities of Manhattan, Jersey City, Chatham, among others.
Hi I’m Evan and I have been teaching swim lessons for 3 years now, not only that but I have also been a assistant swim coach for a Club Swim Team for about 3 years as well. I have taught so many kids with different levels of ability that everyday I go into work it’s always something new which is what I like cause it keeps me on my toes and gives me new opportunities to learn more about teaching swim lessons. Kids swim lesson are not the only teaching I have done, I also teach adult swim lessons, and special need children how to swim and enjoy the water. My favorite part about teaching swim lessons is when the kids get in the water and they kinda freak out a little bit or even a lot. This makes my day because this is something so new to them and I’m the lucky one to teach them. Once we get used to the water I am able to work with them and let them become less hesitant with the water to then be able to teach them how to swim. As they become more experienced as the lessons go on you see a change from the first time they jump into the last time, this makes it all worth it.
I’m originally from Illinois and I decided to move across the country to call this my home! Why because of the beautiful weather, go to college to become a Nurse Practitioner and there are so many fun things to do California.
My intentions while guarding are to maintain a safe pool environment, maximize the fun the kids can have (or even adults), and also get to know the patrons on a personal level. I love lifeguarding because I’m able to meet so many people and they all come from different backgrounds and I’m lucky enough to be able to meet so many amazing individuals.
I serve the Los Angeles communities of Beverly Hills, Westwood, Brentwood, Bel Air, and honestly I’m open to travel anywhere, new places are an adventure.
Hi! I’m Frank Nguyen i’m a private event lifeguard while I am recently certified in lifeguarding I can assure you that I am able with 11 years of competitive swimming background. At private events, I hope to keep the occupants of the pool safe without compromising any fun activities. The best thing about private lifeguarding events would probably have to be being able to get to know the party attendees and interact with them on a fun, but professional manner. I look forward to working with you!
Fun fact: I’m about to get licensed to scuba dive in August!
I serve the Houston area communities of Sugarland, Katy, Memorial, River Oaks, among others.

Fun Fact!! : When I was a baby I almost drowned for inhaling soap foam when I was being showered, I was rescued by my mother who knew CPR and that motivated me to become a lifeguard!
I serve the Los Angeles communities of Culver City, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Inglewood, Hawthorne, among others.
5 years experience lifeguarding!
Hi, I’m Gaby!
I have been lifeguarding since I was 15. I started off working for American Red Cross as a lifeguard and then got certified as a swim instructor and started teaching. I enjoy working with kids because they always put a smile on your face 🙂
I have 2 years lifeguarding experience.
I’ve grown up around water and have done anything involving it, such as boat sports, swim, and competitive year round water polo. I’ve been lifeguard certified for 5 years now and worked at a YMCA last summer.
I serve the San Diego metro area and communities of La Jolla, Encinitas, Rancho Bernardo, and Poway, among others.
Hello, my name is Garrison Taska! I have been a lifeguard for almost 2 years now, and it is the best decision I have ever made. I love watching kids and adults get to kick back and swim while I get to keep them safe. I love being outdoors and this makes lifeguarding great for me. I also like to learn about different areas of Houston so driving and working different parties really amuses me. One fact about me is that I will be going to play college baseball next year at San Jacinto CC. I’m looking forward to a great summer with Happy Swimmers!
I will serve the greater Houston area.
To me lifeguarding is less of a job, and more of a responsibility to care for other people. I have been lifeguarding for the past 4 years now, and in my time guarding I have learned a few things. The meaning of hard work, customer service, and above all the importance our job titles carry. To literally guard lives. I love my job, and I love helping people. It is my goal that everyone enjoys their time in the water, while all the while remaining safe.
I serve the Austin area communities of Austin, San Antonio, Houston
Watching someone swim on their own, after teaching them, gives me a great feeling as an instructor. My goal when teaching someone how to swim is to make sure that they’re doing it safely and efficiently. The skill level of the swimmer determines what I will be teaching them.
When lifeguarding, I intend to make sure the area I am responsible for is a safe environment (inside and outside of the water). I believe that safety and fun go hand in hand, because it’s no fun when a swimmer gets injured.
I serve the Central Coast/Los Angeles communities of Santa Maria, Santa Barbara, Pasadena, Los Angeles, among others.
15 years swim lesson teaching experience! Go Glori!
Some of the communities I serve:Houston, Bellaire, Katy, Sugar Land
Hi, my name is Glori. I started swimming before I could walk and fell in love with the water. I began swimming competitively at age 6 and did that through high school. I have also life guarded and taught swim lessons for 15 years. I love teaching others to swim and hope to share that love of the water with others. I also teach preschool during the week. I have taught kids and adults and individuals with special needs. I love swimming and want everyone to have a great experience in the water. My picture was taken in the Mediterranean sea a few years back.
Why a Lifeguard at my age? I was teaching water fitness and I asked myself would I be able to respond to a water emergency? No. I became certified within 3 months. Being in the water has always been natural to me. Lessons starting at 4 and the Swim and Dive Team by 10. Fun Water safety and being water safe that’s my motto. Being older I believe I have that extra edge. That experience, the intuition. Call it loving what you do and enjoying the moment. Anything you enjoy doing you do well.
I Love caring for kids and being a Lifeguard. I have been a babysitting for 5 years and been CPR certified for 2 years.I feel that being a lifeguard is so rewarding and making sure your kids are safe is my number one priority. Hello patrons, my name is Graham Thompson. Over the past three to four years, I have been an active participant in competitive swimming. I became interested in being a lifeguard some time last year, and got my certification early this 2017 summer. As an event lifeguard, I intend to watch every individual inside the pool, and out, like a hawk. However, I am no robot, and am more than willing to mix it up by supervising pool games such as “sharks and minnows”, while combining the fun with unwavering safety. A fun fact about myself that I am proud to share is that I was the captain of my high school swim team just last year during the August-October 2016 swim season.
I serve the Phoenix communities of Phoenix, Glendale, and Peoria, among others.
Hello my name is Gurgen Sahakyan, and I am a lifeguard for Happy Swimmers. I have been lifeguarding for the past summer and have enjoyed doing so very much. Hi, I’m Gus! I am a certified lifeguard with certifications in CPR and First Aid. I have spent most of my life in the water. I serve the South Florida communities of Ft. Lauderdale, Coral Springs, Weston, Palm Beach, Miami, among others.
Hi, my name is Hailee and I have been a continuous swim instructor for 5 years now. Deciding to get my WSI certification has been the most rewarding part of any job I have done! I love the friendly and active environment that swimmers and the water provides. Until recently, I was employed with a city pool for almost 5 years. We catered to both seasonal swim lessons and swim teams. I have worked with ages 6 months – 76 years old and groups of 1 to 15! Swimming is such a important skill to learn and it doesn’t matter what age you start at. With some toys, games, rhymes and more, I love trying to make a fun and informative environment to learn in! Also, with a lifeguarding background, safety is my top priority for every lesson.
I have also been a lifeguard for 5 years. Deciding to get my lifeguard certification has been the best experience as a job! I love the outdoors and friendly environment that swimmers and pools provide. Until recently, I was employed with a city pool for almost 5 years. We catered to birthday parties, swim teams, swim lessons, meets, swim-in-movies, aerobics, and more with all ages and all sizes. With many rescues and continued training, my eyes are always alert for you! Also, for parties within size, I will offer in or out of water game time. Thank You!
I serve all of Oahu.
I also have my Title 22 certification.
I first started swim instructing last year, working all seasons and now summer. I’ve taught kids from all age groups 6 months to 15 years old. I’ve also taught kids who are very scared of water and kids who are naturals. Previously, I competed on a swim team for 6 years, two in college and four in high school. Therefore, I’m very familiar with proper techniques and stroke work. Because I have also taught kids who didn’t know anything about swimming or just were just too fearful of water, I have learned to make sure kids are having fun while learning but are also safe!
I’ve been lifeguarding for three years, starting at a water park and now I currently work at a pool. I primarily guard birthday parties and know a lot of water games kids love to play. I always make sure the kids are having fun and smiling but most of all are being safe. Lifeguarding and teaching are my passions so I take my job very serious, however I always make sure to have a smile on, ensuring everyone is having fun.

Fun Fact: I also speak Norwegian!
I’ve worked at Blackberry Farm as a lifeguard, and I love the job because I can help swimmers to be carefree and enjoy their interaction with the water. I have been a lifeguard and swim instructor for 5 years.
I began my instruction career at the Rutgers University pool. I began with teaching adults and then transitioned to teaching children. I also taught a few children’s lessons over the summer at the YMCA camp. I thoroughly enjoy teaching children because of their typically energetic attitude just to be in the water. The most amount of joy I get from teaching is when I see the amazement in an adult’s eyes when they are swimming when they came in with the thought they’d never learn how to swim.
My background consists of learning to swim as a small child and becoming a competitive swimmer in my youth through to high school. I began Lifeguarding five years ago at Rutgers University, where I am now a Head Lifeguard. I also have experience being a lake lifeguard with the Frost Valley YMCA camp. I thoroughly enjoyed my time working with the camp. My intention for being a Lifeguard and Swimming instructor is to help make any aquatics setting as safe and comfortable as I can for as many people as I can. I enjoy interacting with energetic people, and being able to provide a form of safety and security for people that is very unique and in a setting where people can thoroughly enjoy themselves.

I am a newly certified lifeguard and I am checked out in CPR/AED. I love working with young kids and any type of person. I enjoy making sure that they are safe at all times in a pool not only that but outside of the pool as well. I enjoy creating fun pool related games to keep children active and staying safe at all costs. I am also the type of person who will confirm and show up early before designated time upon my summoned arrival for any event. I have been a lifeguard for about two years. I am an attentive lifeguard, continuously scanning the pool and my surroundings. I was a lifeguard for a Day Camp at a lake and I not only guarded but also taught swimmers from the age of 3-12 years old how to swim. I love to play water games such as sharks and minnows, red light green light and relay with the swimmers. When I was younger my mom would always have to remind me to eat because I could swim all day if I had the option too. This is why I take pride in being a lifeguard it’s not just a job for me but kind of a lifestyle where water is my element.

It is a passion to assist in the empowerment of children learning how to swim in a medium once considered a fearful, uncertain place, magically turned into a supportive, fun environment to be explored with friends. The same goes for lifeguarding and training new lifeguards–there is no greater inner joy either in saving someone’s life as a lifeguard, or teaching others how to perform lifesaving skills. It is an honor for me to watch my students grow–where once there was doubt or panic, now there is strength and confidence.
Thank you for looking to become a Happy Swimmer!

My experience in the water has grown tremendously throughout the years, for I began at the age of two. I love working with kids and always keep water safety as my top priority.
2 years experience, traveling generally in the areas of Irvine, Costa Mesa, Huntington, Newport
The water has been my happy place since as far back as I can remember, but being from the Pacific Northwest, the weather wasn’t always the most accepting of my true love. So I decided at a young age I was going to go to SoCal for college, where I can be in the water year round. With this passion of mine, getting my lifeguard certification was an obvious choice, which I obtained as soon as I started school in California. I have now been a practicing lifeguard for the last year and a half, and I can proudly say I made a great choice choosing to get my certification. It has been nothing but rewarding and wonderful and I look forward to continuing my lifeguard career.
As a former day camp counselor and certified lifeguard at the Mattapany Day Camp on the Patuxent River Naval base in Maryland, I greatly enjoy engaging with children and showing them how to have fun practicing safety in the pool. Lifeguarding was an easy choice due to my natural love for the water. I started my lifeguard career in Bermuda as a Beach Lifeguard. The Bermuda Lifeguard Service instilled the responsibilities of lifeguarding and the importance of prevention. Thanks to comprehensive training, we have prevented countless number of incidents from escalating. 3 years in the Bermuda Lifeguard Service gave me the opportunity to lifeguard in Washington DC and Australia. I have gained lifeguard experience in marathons, corporate functions, lounges, recreation centers, fitness gyms, private homes, and even birthday parties. Anything to put the heart near the water.

Hello, my name is Katherine and I have been a certified Lifeguard for three years. I have previously been a guard for Brook hollow Golf Club in Dallas TX, as well as events and parties. I also babysit during the summer for families who require CPR and lifeguard certified sitters. I am currently pursuing a degree in kinesiology at Stephen F Austin, in order to become an occupational therapist. I chose to work for Happy Swimmers because I enjoy the personal aspect of guarding for events rather than overseeing hundreds of people I do not get to communicate with at club pools. I have been working as a lifeguard and swim instructor for over 12 years. I began my water experience at the age of 14 when I played water polo. Along with water polo I participated in swimming, my high school and college surf teams. I love being in the water and helping others in the skills to be safe, successful, and have fun in the water. I have taught swim lessons from babies to adults and I feel comfortable and confident working with any type of swimmer. I am looking forward to teaching you or your swimmer the best swimming skills around!
As a lifeguard I pride myself in the recognition of when a swimmer can be in distress and to prevent any incidents. I am looking forward to a Sunny San Diego Summer with all swimmers out there!

I am proud to say Lifeguarding has become a way of life for me. I have ALWAYS lived by the water as I was born and raised in South Florida before relocating to Los Angeles. I bring to you multiple years of experience as a Head Lifeguard at my local YMCA, a lifeguard for triathlons, lakes, pools, any body of water, you name it, I’ve guarded it. Safety is my number one priority as I have seen far too many unnecessary boo-boo’s during my career. I am an extremely approachable and outgoing person who loves to have fun and I always find myself going above and beyond to ensure everyone is having an exceptional time. I pride myself on my core values of respect, integrity, dependability, and honesty. When I arrive at your home or event, you can expect and I will deliver the utmost amount of professionalism and safety.
I serve the LA metro communities of Santa Monica, Inglewood, El Segundo, Culver City, Playa Vista, Manhattan Beach, among others.
Hello, my name is Kendrick. I’m a recently Certified American Red Cross Lifeguard. In addition to my day job, as a Fixed Income Specialist, I am an Assistant Scoutmaster with Boy Scout Troop 773 in Irving, TX. I made the decision to become a Lifeguard after completing BSA Aquatic Supervision & Water Rescue Training. I developed a love for swimming as a form of exercise following 20+ years as an amateur cyclist, and the addition of a few extra pounds. An important component of safety comes from “Being Prepared” (Scout’s Motto) for emergencies should they occur, but perhaps more practically, Prevention. I have over 6 years experience working with kids through scouting, and believe in living the 12 points of the Scout Law (ask me to recite them sometime ;). As a business professional, I strongly believe in providing excellent client service, and developing lasting relationships by treating individuals the way I expect to be treated.
In addition to the above certifications, I am Red Cross Certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED. I’m Originally from Lafayette, Louisiana and have been living in the DFW area since 1995. I completed my Bachelor’s in 1991 at University of Southwestern LA. I Eventually earned my MBA at University of Dallas in 2002. When not involved with work or scouting, you’ll likely find me either in the pool, on the bike, or thinking about one of the above. Other interest include cooking (indoors & out), geocaching, and in general pushing myself to learn and do new things; rest is good too 🙂
Having a qualified and responsible Lifeguard is very important in keeping kids and adults safe at your events. I’m very honored to be part of the Happy Swimmers Guard Staff!
I look forward to working with you!!!
I serve the DFW communities of Irving, Dallas, Arlington, Southlake, among others
I have 2 years Swim Instruction, Coaching, & lifeguard experience.
As a swim instructor, I teach kids to not only learn how to swim but to love swimming. I want them to be safe in the water and not depend on anyone else to help them. What I enjoy most about teaching anyone how to swim is seeing their progress and seeing them start to really love swimming and enjoy being in water. I love taking a kid who was originally scared and timid in the water and getting them to absolutely love swimming and love coming to swim lessons. Teaching swim lessons is a very fulfilling job and I love feeling like I have an impact on a child’s life. I still remember my swim instructor from when I first learned how to swim and I hope that the kids I teach will remember me and all I teach them. I have taught over 100 people ranging all different age groups, from as young as 6 months old to adults over 50. I was also a part time swim coach for a summer league team and a year-round team. I’m great with teaching freestyle and backstroke and moderate on teaching the harder strokes breaststroke and butterfly. I have also taught some more experienced kids how to do dives and flip turns. I have taken kids from fearing the water to swimming all the way across a 25-meter pool with no help.

Throughout my lifeguarding career, my favorite days have been when I got to guard the summer camps that came to the pool. I’ve also worked as a basketball coach! I wasn’t very good at it, but the kids had fun, so I considered it a success.

I have been a lifeguard for 1 year now, and during that year I was a Surf Instructor for kids and adults ages ranging from 6 to 45. I also have guarded multiple private events for Happy Swimmers. Through watching 45 kids in the ocean, saving people from rip currents, and guarding at a pool party, I have gained first hand experience as to what it takes to be a successful Lifeguard. I know water is a dangerous place for both kids and adults, and I want to use my experience to protect everyone around me. I enjoy giving people that sense of safeness because I am watching them or their kids, and I enjoy being outside and anything to do with water.

As a young child I began my teaching career babysitting my younger siblings in the shoreline of Haleiwa, where we were raised. I passes on what I knew to my siblings and as a young adult began teaching others as well. After graduating from Kamehameha Schools, I began beach guarding for the City and County of Honolulu as well as Hawaiian Water Patrol, both specializing on beaches along the North Shore of Oahu. I continue to serve this duty and teach the youth thru programs like Jr. Lifeguards and Surfers Healing, a non-profit organization that takes/teaches children with autism how to surf.

Hey I’m Kyle, and I moved to Honolulu from Orange County, New York about a year and a half ago to study nursing at Hawaii Pacific University. When I lived in New York, I was a lifeguard for about three years, although in New York, the lifeguarding season is typically only during the Summer. For two Summers I independently lifeguarded at various sized private pools in New York and New Jersey that ranged from having 0 – 40 patrons of all ages in the pool at any given time. The Summer after that, I worked in a team of lifeguards at the YMCA on Coney Island in Brooklyn, New York to supervise two separate very large and busy pools. Throughout my 3 years of lifeguarding, I or one of my team members have never had enter the water to save a drowning victim while I was on the clock because myself and my team have successfully prevented any serious emergencies before they happened.
I serve the Honolulu communities of Honolulu, Kailua, Kaneohe, among others.
I began swimming at 1.5 years old and I have been involved in competitive swimming for over 20 years. I have coached a swim team of various ages of swimmers from 4 to 18 and I am an event lifeguard for all ages and pool sizes. I also instruct swim lessons to infants, children, and adults. In addition, I am a CPR instructor across the city of Los Angeles. Outside of aquatics, I am a certified NASM personal trainer.

I practice synchronized swimming, Spanish, adult learn to swim experience, and learn to swim stroke work & a little bit of coaching.
I love meeting new people. I have been guarding since I was 15 which means I am experience at preventing accidents from happening. I have seen it all. I enjoy what I do.

I have taught swim lessons for two years at a public pool. The age group I have experience teaching with is toddler through school age. However I can assist any age group, kids are just so fun! Seeing kids progress is what makes my job fun. I love to see children grow in their skills and become comfortable in the water.
A fun fact about me– I know American Sign Language! Maybe I can teach you a few signs!
Hello everyone! My name is Lauren and I have been an American Cross Certified Lifeguard for 3 years. I began my lifeguarding experience at a public pool and progressed from there to working for an after school program. Now, I am here at Happy Swimmers.

Hi! My name is Lauren and I’m so glad to be a part of the Happy Swimmers team! I have spent most of my life in a swimming pool and have 12 years of competitive swim experience under my belt. For the last few years, I’ve served as a mentor/coach to the young swimmers on a local Arizona swim team. To me, it is so important to learn how to swim, and it is equally important to learn how to love swimming. I can work with any level, starting with teaching to love and be comfortable in the pool all the way through to the specifics of strokes and turns in competition. A fun fact about me is that I broke a 25 year standing record in backstroke when I was 8 years old and that I just got back from working in Australia! Can’t wait to work with you!
I have been a lifeguard for one year and am extremely comfortable in the pool and watching over it. To me, it is very important to have lots of fun in the pool, but safety is always number one. I want to make sure everyone at your party is having a great time while keeping it safe.

3 years swim teaching experience, including Special Needs kids.
Some Communities I serve: Sunnyvale, San Jose, Menlo Park, Palo Alto, Campbell, Mountain View, Santa Clara
Swim Instructor role: What’s better than feeling free, comfortable, confident and safe in the water!?! I want to help every child or adult I teach to feel this way. My love for the water started as an infant, and my love for competing started a few years later. I swam competitively for over 10 years and once my opportunities to compete diminished, I decided to teach. I taught swim lessons at the San Ramon Olympic Pool for three years. I taught all age groups ranging from 6 months to adults. I also have experience teaching lessons to children with special needs. My love for the water goes beyond swimming on the surface. I got scuba certified at 13 and I’ve been exploring the depths of the ocean ever since.
Event Lifeguard role:As a child, I was the swimmer the lifeguards hated. Holding my breath to the very last moment, twisting and turning under water, running on the pool deck, doing the “dead man’s float.” I loved swimming and hated the lifeguards for ruining my fun. I’ve since learned that fun can still be had while following the rules. As a lifeguard, my number 1 priority is safety! Fun is a must, but it’s second to safety. I have three years of lifeguarding experience and received Recognition of First Responder and Life Saving Efforts from the City of San Ramon for my role is saving the life of a 7 year old boy.
Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) role:Teaching the lifeguarding course is like teaching a sport. There’s the physical skills aspect and the psychological understanding and awareness aspect. My goal is to teach both. I feel successful when I’m running through the end of class scenario and the student’s know how to leverage their tubes for buoyancy, when to call for help, the holds and strap sequence for a spinal, and when and how to perform CPR. They are confident with their decisions and skill. I’ve taught the lifeguard.
CPR Instructor role:I’ve performed CPR and used an AED in an emergency situation. I am always scoping out where the nearest AED is in a building and running through “what if” scenarios in my head. I know what to do in an emergency and I have taught others what to do as well. I have over 4 years experience teaching CPR, first aid and AED courses.
Hi there! My name is Lindsay Kendall and I have been a lifeguard with Happy Swimmers for five years now. I grew up in Austin but I attend the University of Alabama during the school year. During the summer months, I love to return to Austin and enjoy my beautiful city. I truly enjoy getting to travel around the Austin area meeting new people and protecting the safety of swimmers of all ages. While most pool parties are a breeze, each summer I encounter at least one distressed swimmer that needs my assistance. Growing up with a pool in my backyard, pool parties have been a part of my life since I was a young child. As a party host, you should be able to focus on the satisfaction of your guests and should not be concerned with whether the swimmers in your pool are safe. As a lifeguard is it my job to ensure the safety of all of your swimmers and guests so that you can enjoy your party and the time with you friends.
Areas I commonly serve: Austin, Cedar Park, Round Rock
I have 4 years lifeguarding experience.

I celebrate with my students as we work together to conquer their fears and coach them to success in reaching goals of a strong, safer swimmer. I provide self-rescuing skills that they will carry with them throughout their lifetime! My approach is simple: build trust, teach in a loving, nurturing, fun and encouraging environment with an eye toward a new challenge and goal with each lesson. I am a Certified Lifeguard, including CPR/AED/First Aid training. Certified Paralegal (I left the corporate legal arena to pursue my life’s passion = saving lives!) “Life is as GRAND as you make it”

Swimming is a life skill you must learn in my opinion sort of like riding a bike. I take great passion in what I do and safety always comes first.
Lifeguarding in the Summer is one of the best jobs for a college student I believe. What’s more fun then being by the water and soaking in the sun in the midst of Summer? I remember going to the pool every summer and talking to the lifeguards. I always thought they looked so cool and what kid didn’t want to be cool? I have guarded for a little more then a year now and I can honestly say I love it knowing the importance of saving one’s life or being able to prevent a terrible accident is a very important job. Makes you feel like a bit of a hero.

Hi my name is Matthew. I love life guarding and providing a safe environment for kids to swim in. A fun fact about me is that I lived in Madagascar for 2 years and learned to speak Malagasy.
Serving Washington DC, Baltimore area, All of northern VA, Loundon County, Fairfax County.
I’ve had three years of lifeguarding history at three companies. My goal whenever I’m lifeguarding is to prevent as many possible rescues before they even can take place. As I have only had to make one save in the past three years, this could have been a much greater number if had not been vigilant of my surroundings at all times. The thing l like most about lifeguarding events is I’m in charge of so many people’s lives it’s nerve wracking of course but it’s also gives me a sense of authority that when it comes down to it I have to act to save someone’s life.~~great awareness, Matthew and thanks for bringing your A-game 🙂 owner Jenn
Typical areas I serve include: Austin metro: Round Rock, Pflugerville, Cedar Park
Hi there! I’m a college student studying nursing and french! I love working with people and especially maintaining the safety of others which is one of the main reasons that I’m both a lifeguard and nursing student. I grew up swimming and know how fun a pool party can be, but have also seen my fair share of poolside injuries. I want to lifeguard private events to help prevent any injuries from putting a damper on your day, and even to maybe help it be even more fun! I have worked at multiple pools in my area guarding groups from college swim teams to pool parties with people of all ages. I have been a lifeguard for over 4 years now. It seemed like the best job for me to do since I have been around the water ever since I was a little boy. I love going to these lifeguard events and seeing all the kids having a great time because it reminds me of when I was young and would go to the pool all the time. I love being the ‘cool’ lifeguard that kids can play with but at the same time I always make sure kids are being safe and everything is under control.
I’ve been a lifeguard, swim lesson instructor, and swim coach on and off for the past six years. I come from a family of swimmers and spent so many days as a kid at the local pool that it feels like I grew up there. Swim Instructor role:I have been teaching and coaching swimming for over 30years to children of all ages, in a variety of settings and environments. I also currently work with triathletes in improving swim technique for open water. I thoroughly enjoy the excitement a child (regardless of the age), when a goal is achieved. I can share many stories about swimming and teaching, but nothing is more satisfying when a child has a big smile and is thrilled to see you because they enjoy the swim time.
Event Lifeguard role:I began lifeguarding at 16 and found a passion in water safety. This began an incredible journey and lifeguarding on some of the wildest waters in the world. Currently, I guard at several local pools and private parties, as well as open water swim events. As I guard, I not only watch the water, but empower my patrons to make responsible choices and learn about water safety. The NO, has a reason. I want your experience to be fun, as long as it is safe.
Additional certifications in: Lifeguard Open Water Certified — lake/ocean, WaterPark Certified, O2 Certified,
Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) role:I am currently a lifeguard instructor through the American Red Cross. In this, I am able to certify guards for pools, waterfronts (lake, pool) and waterparks. I have trained over 1000 lifeguards in my tenure, and am proud to share water safety values with these students. It is thrilling to empower students to pursue an opportunity to help others around the waterfront.
4 years experience!
I began lifeguarding in Los Angeles the summer after I graduated high school. A year later, I joined Happy Swimmers. I love doing events for HS because you get to know wonderful clients and soak up the sun, all while on the job! I attend school at UC Berkeley and enjoy picking up a few jobs in the Bay Area when the opportunity arises. I love going to the beach, playing the piano, skiing, and traveling!
Some of the areas I have served:Westwood, Encino/Tarzana, Santa Monica; Walnut Creek, Lafayette, downtown SF
A little over ten years ago, I was drawn to lifeguarding; as a competitive swimmer, I had a deep passion for the water, and wanted to ensure that others were able to enjoy the water (hopefully as much as I do), safely. Since I first got my certification, I have expanded my qualifications to include Emergency Medical Technician and several military related swimming instructor and responder qualifications. They were a natural fit for me because I have been a swimmer forever; from the time I was small, through high school, and even at the Coast Guard Academy, where I graduated in 2014 with a BS in Civil Engineering, swimming has always been my first love. Fun fact: I have acted as a lifeguard in in more countries than states (6 countries/4 states)! I look forward to working with you!
I serve the South Florida communities of Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Brickell, Pembroke Pines, among others.
I have over 11 years of lifeguarding experience, working with youth of all ages, as well as adults. I have also worked with youth and adults with developmental disabilities. Three years experience lifeguarding/lifeguard instructor.
Serving areas includingLos Altos, Palo Alto, Atherton, Mountain View, Sunnyvale, but flexible
I was a competitive swimmer from second grade until senior year of high school, and have always loved being in and around the water. I began lifeguarding in high school at Los Altos Golf and Country Club as a Summer job, and soon realized I loved being able to keep kids safe and having fun in the pool. Swimming has always been such a huge part of my life so it means a lot that I can give other people the same opportunity! I really prefer private lifeguarding over working at a country club because it gives you a greater opportunity to meet and get to know the clients when the kids are out of the pool. Every family has been so friendly and welcoming to me!
Aloha! I have been a swim instructor for 7 years. I am passionate about swimming as I was a competitive swimmer in high school and college. My favorite events are ocean swims and my favorite strokes are breast-stroke and freestyle. I love sharing my passion for swimming with my students and seeing them progress so quickly! Fun Fact: In high school I swam from Lana’i to Maui, twice.
I have been lifeguarding on the beautiful island of Oahu for 6 years, going on 7! I take pride in ensuring everyone in and around the water is safe and having a good time. I love to share my knowledge about the ocean, and my passion for watersports with my clients. Fun fact: Every time I have actually had to perform a rescue and CPR I was never on the clock.

I have been a lifeguard since I was in high school and liked the idea of being someone’s “hero” in severe situations. Lifeguard Instructor, 4 years experience
I’ve been a lifeguard instructor for four years. The bulk of my experience came from certifying students for Cal State Northridge. I’ve taught CPR and First Aid courses, Jr. Lifeguard courses, and basic Lifeguard courses.
I have been lifeguarding for over three years, and every year I still see something new, which helps keep me on my toes. I always wanted to be a doctor so in high school I thought, why not become a lifeguard since they also keep people safe? I love that lifeguarding is kind of like health. Prevention is the key. Even though I’m now studying Industrial Engineering in college, something totally not health related, I am happy to be there to give parents a peace of mind, knowing their kids are safe. I love the outdoors, and I love that lifeguarding let’s me be outdoors, this picture is from the painted desert in Arizona.
I serve the DFW communities of Dallas, Fort Worth, Richardson, Plano, among others.
Hi, my name is Miriam and I’ve been a lifeguard for 3 years now. I love lifeguarding because it allows me to save people from drowning and helps me make a difference in the world for others. Lifeguard events are my favorite places to lifeguard at because I love meeting new people and being able to save lives at the same time. I also did competitive USA swimming for 7 years so I’m a great swimmer and I always make sure everyone stays safe!
Last summer I lifeguarded at a summer camp, spending my afternoons watching kids splash in the river and my nights applying aloe vera. Lifeguarding to me is all about making sure the most fun is possibly had by my swimmers while still staying safe. Lifeguarding isn’t about ruining fun or being a buzzkill, it’s about making sure everyone has the best possible time in a safe environment!

I have been lifeguarding for the past 5 summers and also at the University of Houston this past school year. I lifeguard because it gives me the chance to prevent water-related accidents and promote water safety. I’m a very patient instructor, having been in education for close to 28 years as a teacher and university professor. I’ve worked with all age levels. The best part of my day is when your child actually realizes that they can be successful and swims to me unaided. It’s very rewarding! I look forward to meeting you and your family!
Lifeguard Bio: As a parent and a lifeguard, safety has always been my number one concern around a pool. I am diligent at my position and take it very seriously. I’ve worked small family parties, and also at large public pools. I look forward to caring for your needs!!

5 years experience teaching swim lessons!
Areas served: I’m willing to cover a wide area of northern LA! I go as far west to Thousand Oaks, to the most eaters point of of Glendale!
Swim Teaching: Hi there! I come from a long background of aquatics, and am always up for a challenge! I get my teaching experience and understanding on the mechanics of swimming, firsthand from 4 years of swimming on my high school team. I began coaching in the spring of 2012 for a small swim instruction company based in Moorpark CA, while simultaneously volunteering with the special olympics for three seasons as a coach in the SanFernando Valley. I pride myself on the fundamentals of water safety, on all levels of learning. I push the boundaries of comfort for my students at times (just as in any challenging subject of learning) but never force students, or have them do anything that exceeds their own abilities. I am patient dedicated, and have the same level of respect for ALL.
Lifeguard for Hire work: Vigilant, preventative, and alert, are all words that belong with a pool side lifeguard on duty. I can help bring a little extra peace of mind to any event or occasion. I bring to the table tactics similar to those of my swim lessons. On duty, I am constantly on the lookout for any possible problem(s), and to the best of my abilities prevent whatever I can before it happens. Water safety is my #1priority when I am present.
I have 2 years lifeguarding experience
I am currently in my second year of lifeguarding, and have never stopped loving it since I started. When lifeguarding, I try to limit accidents and dangers by catching them before they even happen. I lifeguard in a professional manner, yet still make the event enjoyable for all involved. Lifeguarding for events such as parties is a unique experience because I not only get to keep people safe while they have fun, but get to know new people. I have been swimming on my summer league for over 12 years, so I am very comfortable near the water and know what to look for in people’s swimming abilities. When you don’t find me at work lifeguarding or at home studying, you will almost always find me with a fly rod in hand on any local body of water.
I serve the Austin communities of Round Rock, Spicewood, and Elgin, among others.
I’ve maintained my Lifeguard certifications for over 3 years now. While I do love the flexible hours of lifeguarding, making sure everyone is safe is priority. A somewhat interesting thing or or two about me is that I can sing pretty well and the tallest in my family.
I serve the Houston communities of Houston, Sugar Land, Cypress, and Sienna Plantation, among others.
Teaching swim is a passion of mine. Being able to teach children how to love the water while being safe is my priority. Through my 4 years of teaching swim, I have extensive experience with Special Needs children.

I have years of experience as a lifeguard in different atmospheres including camps, private pools, and lakes. When I’m not lifeguarding, I’m working in marketing or traveling the world. I hope to make your party safe and fun!
I have been Lifeguarding for 7 years since I was 15. I have guarded pools at gyms, a high school, backyards, camps, and a community college. My intentions as your lifeguard are rooted in preventing accidents from happening in the first place while providing you with peace of mind that if an emergency does happen I am able to respond quickly and effectively. What I like most about Lifeguarding events is meeting new people and seeing all of the unique pool designs that I have encountered over the years and how creative some can be when designing their pool. A fun fact about me is that my favorite marine animal is a sea turtle because they take things nice and easy, plus they love the water!

I have been working for three years as a private lifeguard in Miami Shores and have great people skills. Lifeguarding private events keeps me on my toes and allows me to branch out and reach new people that need lifeguarding service or that just need connections into the lifeguard industry and private pools. I am extremely athletic and an avid waterman of many different sports, and I also swam for 6 years so I’m not the worst person to get swimming instructions from.
I have 2 years of experience in the fields of lifeguarding and swim instructing. I love working as a lifeguard and take the responsibility in ensuring the safety of everyone very seriously. I enjoy lifeguarding events because it allows me to make sure kids are having fun while staying safe and out of harms way. I began teaching swimming lessons five years ago! I have taught group and private swimming lessons at a private country club in Georgia. I then started teaching swimming lessons for Whittier College here in California, last summer. I really enjoyed teaching that Sports Camp at Whittier College because not only did my kids have fun, but I did too! I have been teaching private and group swimming lessons at my local YMCA in Whittier since August of last year. I also teach private and group lessons for babies and parents and special needs. I love teaching swimming lessons because I want the children to love the water as much as I do! My absolute favorite part about teaching swimming lessons is watching the children improve. Knowing that I taught those kids how to swim the correct way is my whole motive!
I began lifeguarding five summers ago at a private country club in Georgia and that is where my love for lifeguarding emerged! I lifeguarded at that country club for three years before I moved here, to California, where I began lifeguarding at Whittier College for the summer! I loved lifeguarding there because they had diving boards and a very deep end which made things a bit more interesting in a day’s work! I have been lifeguarding at my local YMCA since August of last year and it has truly been awesome getting to know the patrons that spend so much of their time coming to the Y, just like me. My intentions when I guard are always to keep the people in and around the water as safe as possible. What I enjoy most about lifeguarding for private events is the closeness and respect I always receive from the hosts and guests. They’re always so grateful and kind to me for my services and that makes me very happy to do my job!
I serve the LA/OC communities of Sherman Oaks, Fullerton, Yorba Linda, Whittier, among others.
I have 3 years lifeguarding experience of all ages.
My intention in guarding is to keep everyone safe but also keeping everyone happy and having fun while staying safe. What I like most about lifeguarding events is the feeling I get after an event where everyone is safe but also had a great time at the event. I feel accomplished and that my job was truly successful when that happens. A couple of fun facts about me is that I have a twin brother who lives in New Jersey, I can wiggle my ears and I can play the guitar.
I serve the greater Orlando & Tampa communities of Temple Terrace, Wesley Chapel, Tampa Palms, South Tampa, among others.
I’ve loved water my whole life. Both my parents were lifeguards, and they started me in lessons from when I was 5 years old. I continued through Jr. Lifeguarding at Calabasas Swim and Rec until I was old enough to be Lifeguard certified this year. I am also a member of the ELCO water polo and swim team. I am always prepared for whatever comes my way around the water, and enjoy helping others. Outside of water sports, I enjoy drama, writing, surfing, snowboarding, guitar and mountain biking.
I serve the Los Angeles communities of Calabasas, Woodland Hills, Hidden Hills, among others.
The summer camp I worked at swim lessons for our younger campers. Their skill level ranged from “never been in a pool” to “part of a swim league back home”. Over the course of my five years there, I learned which strategies work best for different experience levels and ages. I have been a lifeguard in central Texas for five years. Much of my time lifeguarding has been in a camp environment with a both a pool and lake. During my tenure at this camp, I rose to the position of Lake Director. My reason for lifeguarding has always been to keep people safe while they have the best time possible in the water. I grew up near the beach and to me, water has always been synonymous with happiness and fun. That is why I strive to keep everyone safe while they have fun in the sun.
Typical communities I’ve served include Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Pfluegerville.
When I was younger I almost drowned at my community pool, but luckily there was a lifeguard there to prevent that from happening. This experience was what triggered my passion for water sports and the reason why I decided to become certified as a lifeguard. I want everyone to enjoy being in the water while also staying safe at the same time.
I have been a lifeguard for five years for the City of Sacramento. I have always enjoyed lifeguarding, it’s a very rewarding experience to make sure that children and adults have a safe environment while they are swimming. I especially enjoy guarding birthday parties, they are always a lot of fun! Commonly serving communities like Sacramento, Roseville, Folsom, and Elk Grove.
I have 2 years lifeguard experience.
I started lifeguarding because I enjoy taking care of others and socializing. I have found this to job to have been one that I keep coming back to because I enjoy meeting new people and providing a safe environment for everyone. The most rewarding part of this job is knowing that I made a positive impact on a kids life and them telling me that when they grow up they wanna be just like me and that they wanna be a lifeguard too. Fun facts about me, I did martial arts for 5 years, I’m currently ranked 57th in the nation for weightlifting, I’m a DJ, and I’m a personal trainer.

I then moved to Hawaii in 2008 where I first joined the JTA CPR/ Happy Swimmers team as a CPR/First Aid instructor. During these years I had always made a priority in volunteerism being active in the National Ski Patrol and the USC Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber. Today I reside in Houston and presently support Help America Today turning elementary aged kids into the volunteers of tomorrow through grassroots community service projects. My passion for teaching and making a positive impact on our society is why I love teaching CPR and First Aid, particularly for those never certified. A little more about me… I’ve been actively teaching swim lessons for six years and enjoy this more than any other profession I’ve ever been involved in. There is nothing better than doing what you love for a living and being able to teach and share it with others. I get to teach a child; learn life long skills that last a life time, as well as safety and the joy of the water. I’m always amazed at how students learn so much in a short period of time. It is also fun to watch them “Strut Their Stuff” when they become confident at what they have learned. I started swimming at age 3 and have never enjoyed anything more than the water. I have been a competitive swimmer, PADI diver and Coast Guard Auxiliary member for many years. Welcome to Happy Swimmers! I am happy to help.
I am a certified lifeguard and I love making your events as fun and safe as possible! I’ve been a competitive swimmer since I was six, and have tons of experience working with kids. I can’t wait to help you out at your next event!

Hello, my name is Sean Snyder and I want to share with you why I love being a lifeguard. First, and most importantly, I love the experiences I’ve had protecting and serving others. Whether it’s making sure the chairs are clean or saving a kids life in the water you always feel the appreciation for your efforts. Secondly, I’ve already saved a life and I can’t think of any better way to live than by making others feel safe. Knowing that a person is moving forward in life because I performed my job correctly is an amazing feeling. Third, my knowledge is useful outside of my profession and it makes my family and friends feel safer, what a bonus! I carry my CPR mask with me almost everywhere I go just in case a situation may arise elsewhere. You never know when your training may be needed. Finally, it is the best job I’ve ever had and I am proud of the work I do. Honestly, I couldn’t ask for more.

I started Lifeguarding in high school at age 16 for the City of Huntington Beach and became a Water Safety Instructor as well. After 2 years, I moved to San Francisco for college and became a Lifeguard and Safety Officer for the Waterpolo team at my school. Each summer I go back to Huntington Beach and work for the Hyatt Regency Resort & Spa as a Lifeguard. I really enjoy Lifeguarding, especially the rewarding feeling that you get when you actually do need to help someone! Something that sets me apart from other Lifeguards is the fact that when I’m not teaching swim lessons or lifeguarding, I’m usually teaching surf lessons or surfing myself!
Hi, I’m Simon and am a new lifeguard this summer. I’ve been a competitive swimmer since I was 5 years old, so naturally I became a lifeguard for the past 6 years and swim instructor for the past 2 years, to pass on my joy of swimming to others. I specialize in freestyle and backstroke first and then if conditions allow, I also can teach breaststroke and butterfly. Growing up on swim team I learned many drills to perfect my strokes. I enjoy revealing my knowledge to other swimmers to help them get the right quality stroke they desire. My favorite part about swim instructing is watching my students become comfortable and independent in the water. Everyone should get the chance to learn to swim!
Creating a fun and safe environment in and around the pool is my goal. A swimmer with a smile is my heart’s fulfillment. Fun fact about me: I’ve swam in the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.

Hi, I’m Sydney and I’m currently a sophomore at The University of Texas at Austin. Being by the water is my favorite place to be during the hot summers in Texas. I was a competitive swimmer for 14 years and still enjoy swimming laps in my free time.
For the past five summers, I have been a private and group swim instructor for ages 3 to 20. I have a wide spectrum of experience from children who are afraid to get in the water to competitive swimmers who need stroke instruction.
I enjoy building trust with the children I’ve taught and allowing them to progress into confident swimmers. I believe encouragement goes a long way and try to make the learning process as enjoyable as swimming is to me!
For the past five summers, I’ve lifeguarded at a city pool and for private events. When life guarding, I work to maintain a fun and safe environment for everyone inside and around the pool.
Because I am constantly scanning the pool and assessing the swimmers abilities, I saved lives each summer that I was working and prevented more accidents by enforcing the rules of the pool as well as general pool safety procedures. Last summer I was head life guard for our staff before retiring from my hometown pool. I take pride in my job and strive to continue to be a dependable life guard.

My utmost priority is assisting in maintaining a safe swimming environment and to do so in a fun, happy and interactive way. My intention is to convey that I take on this responsibility with great care and dedication in order for my guests to feel that they can trust me with their, and their children’s, lives. I became a lifeguard in 2013 and have loved it ever since! For two years (2013-2014) I worked as a lifeguard in the Summer and late Fall at Oakwell Farms neighborhood pool. Last summer (2015) I worked briefly as a lifeguard at Inwood Hallow neighborhood pool as a sub, and then moved onto a full time job at Fort Sam Houston Outdoor Aquatic Center. Towards the end of the summer last year, I was a lifeguard for kids’ birthday parties. My intention for lifeguarding this summer is to provide safety, protection, and a positive attitude for the people I will be serving. I love meeting and interacting with new people, which is my favorite thing about lifeguarding private events.
I have been teaching swim lessons for roughly a year now under Fort Sam Houston outdoor aquatic center. Last summer I had 17 swim students ranging from the ages of 3-7 and one 12 year old. I love teaching swim lessons because it is a unique opportunity to grow closer to kids of all ages in a fun and educational environment. I love kids, I have had the pleasure of babysitting my nieces & nephews as well as neighbors kids over the past 5 years. Lastly, I have a very flexible schedule and a friendly, nurturing, and patient personality.
I have been a swim instructor for two years. I have taught numerous people from infants, kids, teens, adults and even tri-atheletes. Many swimmers I have recently worked with have been the younger kids – infant to four or five – and have picked up a little bit of a specialty working with those who are special needs kids.
I have been an EMT and a lifeguard for three and a half years, I have worked on the beach front for a school in Southern California and at multiple pools in SoCal, and work as a standby EMT lifeguard for special events. I like to meet new people and have fun guarding while keeping people safe. I want to get into the Fire Department as a paramedic and lifeguarding is a good way to learn and be ready for anything that could arise.
I have experience as a Waterfront Lifeguard as well.

Hi, my name is Travis! I’ve been doing private swim lessons for 3 years now working with around 15-20 kids ranging from ages 4-13. I think one of the things that make me special is my ability to connect with children and get them involved and happy with being in the water. The part I like most about teaching swim lessons is seeing the face of a child light up when they do something they thought was impossible. That feeling is completely unique, I also love that I’m influencing the kids in a positive way for the rest of their life. I worked as an AVID tutor at the high school and middle school level for 3 years as well! As you can probably tell I really love to teach!
I’ve always loved swimming! The idea of becoming a lifeguard seemed like a dream! Now that I’m finally certified I’m excited to do my best and to ensure the safety of all clientele. Swim Instructor Bio:
I have been teaching swim lessons for the last 6 years and continue to do so. I have taught lessons at the community pool, for local swim teams, and for Happy Swimmers. I am currently the head coach of Indian Hills Swim Team in Jurupa Valley. I have been a swimmer for 17 years and my specialty is backstroke. I swam for CBU for all four years and my best events were the 50, 100, 200 back, 50 and 100 free, and the 200 and 400 IM. I absolutely love passing my knowledge down to the next generation, especially in the regards of competition. I do believe that EVERYONE should be water safe, but it is my goal to pass on my love of this growing sport.
I first began as a small community pool guard for one year. I then began working for my local school district and assisting at local parties of friends. I took a break from guarding to focus more on lessons and coaching swim until I began working for Happy Swimmers, whom I have happily worked with for the last 3 years. My number one goal in guarding is safety. I believe if an issue can be dealt with or addressed before it happens, it is far less likely to occur. The best thing about any job is interacting with the children. Parties are intended to be fun and I fully encourage it as long as it is safe.

Not only that but with 4 years of experience now I can confidently say I can teach children how to relax in the water and then take it further from there. I want to be able to build a strong foundation in swimming with anyone I teach, and watch as it blossoms into a hobby or even a passion. A fun fact was that just last summer I two of the seven year old kids I had qualified for TAAF State Championship.
I’m looking to make an impact on the life’s of the people I meet. I want to be able to provide not only a fun but safe environment for everyone this summer. After moving to Washington, DC, I began working at the American University aquatic center where I was eventually promoted to Head Lifeguard of Swim Instructors. In this position, I helped to manage and teach the swim lessons run through AU Recreation and Fitness. The most rewarding part of teaching swim lessons would have to be watching the improvement and excitement of the student grow. My passion is to see a world where everyone can feel safe and have fun in the water!
I started lifeguarding at my community pool the summer before my junior year of high school. Serving the general areas of San Jose, Saratoga, Los Gatos, Los Altos and traveling throughout the Bay Area.
I’ve been a lifeguard for over a year. Most of that time has been watching a kids pool with a slide at a resort. My favorite part of lifeguarding is seeing everyone have a good time, and being there to keep everyone safe. I enjoy working with kids. My experience with kids includes, babysitting, teaching kids how to read at school, giving reviews sessions for the 5th grade science STARR test, being a teacher’s aide, and working a fun, “kid Zone” with bounce houses, mini golf, and all kinds of other fun games.
I serve the Austin area communities of Austin, Buda, Bee Cave, and Pfluggerville, among others.
Hi! This is my third year lifeguarding and I am lifeguard/CPR/first aid, pool operator, and NOCTI certified. I started out as a regular lifeguard and eventually became manager at my pool. I absolutely love this job and interacting with people of all ages. I have worked with children from pre-school to high school, including kids with special needs. I am currently a pre-medicine student at VCU with the goal of becoming a trauma doctor.
5 years experience, communities served like Point Loma, La Jolla, Carmel Valley, Del Mar
Water is my life! I have experience teaching swim lessons (levels ranging from mommy& me to coaching swim team), lifeguarding and competitive swimming. I absolutely love being anywhere near the pool or the ocean! I am inspired to promote fun in the water with an emphasis on water safety practices. I have a special passion for teaching, as I am currently finishing my credentials to be a kindergarten teacher. Teaching has taught me patience and attentiveness which is an instrumental component of serving my duties as a lifeguard to my best ability.
Extra certifications, specialties: Waterfront/Lake certified lifeguard; Mommy and Me special training.

Yumi and Jere were wonderful lifeguards when they guarded our end of year pool party on Wednesday June 11 from 11-2. They were in touch with me, were on time and prepared, and were very responsible and knowledgeable. I was so happy to be able to put two adults in charge of our fourth grade class party.
Based on my experience with Yumi Temple and her cohort Jere, I would highly recommend Happy Swimmers.
Thank you for a wonderful experience. So happy we used your business.
Hi Jenn.. wow today was really scary. I had to use my first aid skills on my mom! We work at the same preschool & she had an allergic reaction & went into shock! I did everything I remembered until the paramedics came.. I really can’t thank you enough for teaching me everything I needed to know!
Everything about my experience with Happy Swimmers has been amazing! From the scheduling to the fantastic teacher they sent for my 5 and 6 year old. The instructor, Emma, had to contend with 2 very different personalities along with 2 different levels of swimming experience. She was more than equipped to deal with that and gave each child unparalleled support, encouragement and instruction. I highly recommend this service to all parents that want to give their child a great experience in being water safe!
We have three kids ages 7, 4, and 2 & 1/2. This was our second year having Happy Swimmers, with instructor Trisha Commons, come teach our kids (the two oldest) to swim. I tried another company the year before I tried Happy Swimmers and although the kids learned swim safety, they were bored and did not learn how to enjoy the pool. Trisha got our son, who did not really like swimming, having fun and by the end of last year could swim the entire length of the pool on his own.
Trisha is great with the kids and is flexible in her teaching style to work with different personalities. She is able to get the kids confident in their abilities and teaches them how to swim, but also teaches them how to have fun! I will definitely be asking Happy Swimmers and Trisha to teach the kids again next year.
I have a toddler and a pool and wanted to make sure my son learned water safety. After taking some group classes last summer, I knew I wanted more one-on-one attention at our home. This summer I reviewed several in-home companies and was impressed with Happy Swimmers approach of water safety.
Trish worked with my stubborn 2-yr old 2-3 times a week. Within the first lesson he knew how to climb out of the pool and to ask permission before getting in. Although our goal was to get him water comfortable more than “swimming”, he indeed learned to swim within a few weeks. We extended our lessons and really appreciated Trish’s approach. We will sign up again next summer. Many of our friends with children happened to be present on several lessons and I expect they will also sign up next summer as well.
Hired a happy swimmers for private life guard for a party for over 200 people at my house. The lifeguard was great. She called to confirm before, came on time, and stayed later then we originally signed up because the party went over. She also showed up on time despite there being a black out that because of storms the day before. I highly recommend Happy Swimmers.
