Los Angeles Metro Lifeguard for Hire Service

Lifeguard Service

Including The Valley, Westside, Beverly Hills, Hollywood Hills, Pasadena, Alhambra, South Bay ~ all over L.A.

Happy Swimmers USA provides Los Angeles Metro lifeguard for hire service for a variety of functions. From children’s pool parties (our specialty, seen on NBC4 News), to entertainment industry shoots, and corporate events, Happy Swimmers provides an incredible staff for all of these needs.

Staff

All staff are Red Cross certified Lifeguards with an average experience of 7 years, many at high volume locations. These are pros, not charming but inexperienced high schoolers. Wherever there is a pool involved in LA County (and many other areas), we have staff ready to serve you professionally to maintain a safe and fun environment.

We are the largest private lifeguard service in the country,

and based right here in L.A. With us, comes a LOCAL management team and lifeguard staff to fill your needs. We price guarantee our service. If you see a better price out there with our same high-quality standards, professional liability insured, we will match it. We pay our staff very well and have a track record of reliability with our staff most of whom have worked with us 3+years.  Easy to see why we have the lowest flaking rate by far of any lifeguard company. With a pool full of kids, we don’t want you wondering if the guard will show up.

Why hire us over another lifeguard company or even the kid down the street?

Our staff are employees, not independent contractors.  We have a lot more control over the quality and reliability of staff that way. We also are one of the only Los Angeles Metro Lifeguard for Hire companies that protects you with our insurance for PROFESSIONAL as well as general liability insurance and workers comp insurance.  Most lifeguard companies carry the minimum general liability (slips and falls) but they don’t carry the more specific professional liability coverage nor workers comp.

Most importantly, if an accident happens no matter who’s at fault, you want your guard(s) properly insured for your protection.  Similarly, would you drive a car without car insurance or go to a doctor who you found didn’t carry malpractice insurance?  Above all, we cover you and your event, so you can enjoy the party.  You are automatically listed as “Additional Insured” on our General Liability policy as our client.

Additionally, almost all freelancers are completely uninsured. Who checks their criminal backgrounds and lifeguard certification status? Our staff is professionally checked for this. We hire the cream of the crop with the best experience, and again, with us, you have a team of managers and a company to back you up if someone flakes.

Welcome to Happy Swimmers’ Los Angeles Metro Lifeguard for Hire,  28 years of keeping a guardian angel’s eye on our client’s guests.

Price

Price for up to 3 hours is $209 per lifeguard. Need additional lifeguards? We discount additional lifeguards by $15 to $194 each guard.  Going over 3 hours for your party? Add $25/half hour per lifeguard. Also, feel free to keep the guards over your original booking time pending their schedule.  Our office will bill you.

The booking form on the next page will easily calculate your cost based on your party length and amount of lifeguards.  Above all, we’re a cheap alternative to an accident.  Just recently, one guard made 4 rescues to children at a busy party.  Think their parents thought he was worth it?

In conclusion, we’ve got your back, so you can enjoy your party!

Aidan, Lifeguard, Hospital Volunteer and Animal Lover

Los Angeles

Hi, I’m Aidan, while I have minor experience lifeguarding thus far I am excited to pursue lifeguarding with Happy Swimmers; as I am very confident in my lifeguarding abilities. I grew up in LA and also have had my fair share of pool events, so I am so excited to keep others safe while enjoying the pool. I hope to continue on this path to become a reliable responsible lifeguard hopefully for a few years. I have already learned a lot about lifeguarding and I hope to continue learning throughout this summer and next year. A fun fact about me, I am ambidextrous which means I’m not a righty or a left; I’m both!

Andre Flores, Lifeguard for Hire

In my ten years as a swim instructor I have taught swim lessons to children of all ages, adults learning to swim for the first time, and adults taking lessons to improve technique. My favorite thing about Event Lifeguarding is the opportunity to be a part of your special day! I have ten years of lifeguard experience including open water, summer camp, water park, and poolside. I am also a swim instructor and have many years of experience working with children.

David Scates, Lifeguard, Swim Instructor

Sherman Oaks

Swim Instructor role: Growing up in the West Valley with a backyard pool, I learned to swim at a young age and got into water polo during high school and college. Water sports like surfing and sailing are hobbies of mine and I first started teaching private swim lessons shortly after I started my teaching career at Hoover High School in 1996. I still currently teach Health and PE while also serving in my Coast Guard reserve unit in San Pedro as a First Class Marine Science Technician. My son in grade school has been competing for two years on a swim team and loves it. All kids should have that opportunity.

Event Lifeguard role: Aside from the last two years working for Happy Swimmers, friends and family would ask me to act as a life guard for pool parties and functions when I became Red Cross certified for water safety and CPR. A good life guard takes preventative measures to mitigate potential hazards by identifying them early before the function begins. Done properly, pool saves are few and quick. I love the anticipation of potential challenges that each venue may pose and being a part of a random family”s fun safe memories they will have.

Demetrius, Lifeguard & Musical Engineer

Los Angeles

Hi, I’m Demetrius Jones and I look forward to working with you. I have over 9 years experience as a lifeguard working at large, high-end resorts and hotels, as well as small private pools and parties. I’m outgoing and personable, and enjoy working in all environments. I look forward to helping make sure everyone has a fantastic time, but is safe in the process.

4+ years of my experience was managing a therapy pool where we supported people with injuries, special needs and the elderly. My experience there (and prior experience) has helped me develop the ability to customize my approach to meet each person’s needs. During that same timeframe, I also taught swim lessons for 2 1/2 years; I like helping people feel comfortable and love the water as much as I do.

Other than lifeguarding, I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Recording Arts and have a business doing musical engineering and production. I moved to sunny California earlier this year and am enjoying working here in both capacities.

I look forward to meeting you soon,

Demetrius

Swim Bio: Hello, my name is Armando. I am a Hispanic male i am 5’10 and weigh about 175.  I am very athletic and love to exercise. I’ve played many sports throughout my youth.  I swam and played water polo throughout high school.  I also played other sports outside of school such as soccer, football, and baseball. I began to lifeguard my first year after high school.  I taught swim lessons to kids from the ages of 5-12.  I really enjoyed working with the kids, they always made my day.  It’s truly an amazing feeling knowing you played a big part in teaching a child a valuable lesson that goes a long way. Swimming is a life skill you must learn in my opinion sort of like riding a bike. I take great passion in what I do and safety always comes first.

Lifeguarding in the Summer is one of the best jobs for a college student I believe. What’s more fun then being by the water and soaking in the sun in the midst of Summer? I remember going to the pool every summer and talking to the lifeguards. I always thought they looked so cool and what kid didn’t want to be cool? I have guarded for a little more then a year now and I can honestly say I love it knowing the importance of saving one’s life or being able to prevent a terrible accident is a very important job. Makes you feel like a bit of a hero.
